I made both, what do you want me to bring? My thief, Credi, is a Rhennee thief from the Nyr Dyv originally that became Atloi and is now an adventurer! Birahu the Black is my Flan wizard originally from Geoff. He is reaching into the past to his Ur-Flan ancestors! Let me know your druthers!
It looks like one vote for Birahu so far.

Gonna need a final decision soon.

I hate making several players wait for one or two others, so let's get this thing started already.

sorry.... :(

I don't work a job where I can squeeze in time to post on here anymore so I'm limited to before and after work unless the family has plans for me after work... not trying to hold others up.

Your pace is just fine. Like I said, I was only moving things along for the people who were ready.

When every character in the game is in “town” at the same time, things will always be a little hectic. So I try to update the influx of responses whenever I have the extra time.

Now that we are splitting into normal sized groups, the pace will return to our usual two or three days between updates.

Sounds good boss. :)

I know when the game started I was old me posting like mad but I was on a 3 or so day break so it was all just timing. I backed off heeded some warnings. Now I'm what has become my norm for the last almost year. Normal sized groups sounds good we had small army at the start here. Sadly we lost "13" not in number the named character.

Rob, the map shows space between where the road is washed out and the trees begin. Could we see how close the water comes to the treeline from where the detour veers away from the road?
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Great question!

Yes, you could.

The washed out river bank doesn’t reach all the way to the tree line, but there is visual evidence of it cresting many times. The ground there will likely be saturated and muddy.

There could be things in the river, too.

I'm trying to think back at all my old campaigns and remember if this kind of extortion attempt have ever ended any other way than the PCs attacking.

Please note how this happens regardless of odds or size of the fee. Players seem downright allergic to giving in to threats across the board :D

"Two copper pieces?! I'd rather die!" :)

Anyone read Knights of the Dinner Table comic? They make a lot of funny stories regarding this phenomenon. One time they wiped an entire town by attrition - they kept being killed by the guards and inhabitants, but rolling up new PCs who immediately avenged their last ones. 500 PCs later and the town was gone.

It seemed like the first few folks were okay with the idea of escaping with their lives.

But I knew there would be at least a few who would put up a fuss instead, regardless of the fee already being paid for them.

It's no problem. We need to get these numbers whittled down somehow.

I guess I should thank you for so perfectly exemplifying my constant complaints and angst over the oft unreliable notification system here.

I know I am in the minority on this topic, but I will simply never understand the need for a player to be prompted to participate in a game they are already involved in. Especially in a game like this where 20+ posts are coming in each day. (where did you think we went)

Since I know GW isn't the only player who uses it, I ask anyone willing to shed some light on this topic for me..... Is it really that hard to jump on the web page every couple of days and check into the games you're in? Is there something I am missing about this? Because I hear this excuse from players every couple of months and no matter how many times it happens, nothing ever improves. People continue to use it no matter how many times this happens.

It's actually baffling to me, but I am old, so maybe that has something to do with it.

I use a hybrid system. I am in a lot of games and they all move at different paces. So I usually check in twice a day and the first thing I do is run through the notifications on the board. Note, not email. Then I check in on the game I am running, followed by the high post rate games (including this one). Since some of the games only post once or even less per week I would probably forget to check on them if I didn't use the notifications.

This makes some sense to me, but do you ever find yourself not receiving notifications in the slower games?

In your case, you would see the posts eventually if you check in daily, but how would someone who doesn't check in know if they weren't receiving notifications?
