Gyb shrugs. "Middle is fine for me". He pats his chest. "No armor".

Renewed in holistic and arcane spells, he treks along.

Bugs

After a fine night, Bugs joins the large group in preparing to get ready to think about setting out.

Again he nods at the cat. Professional courtesy. "They can hear you, Rita. It's loads of bad luck messing with cats." Bugs gets in line where the cat directs.

The cat doesn't look exactly like the ones you saw yesterday, but pretty close. It nibbles on the offered food, rubbing up on any legs it sees fit to scratch itself upon.

The group continues to grow in size as more members arrive. The leaders begin to assemble the troops into a satisfactory marching order.

Dredd stands and looks at Rida. He tries to smile at her comment, but fails and says, "Yeah...I reckon."
He looks down at the cat rubbing against his legs and decides to pick it up. "What's your name, fur ball?"

Sylla has a good look around, several times.

"Where is everyone, we said to meet at dawn? How did they forget already?"

Looking confused at Sylla, "I am right here."

To The Caves!
Outside the Keep
Early Morning

The cat does NOT let anyone pick it up, actually running away from any attempts to do so.

Sylla starts pointing people into groups, clearly understanding that some voice of authority is needed to herd all the two-legged cats as well.

Whether the others join or not, the group heads out, walking the short path down and away from the Keep to link up with the North Road trading route again. This time, the group heads north, towards the caves they've heard so much about.

Looking to the right, you spot the swamp and river in the distance. If it weren't for all the dangers you've already been warned about, the area would look quite serene. Luckily, no monsters are stirred up from the depths by your passing. In fact, the only stirring you see in that area are normal birds and animals.

Moving along the road further, the Keep grows smaller and the forest grows nearer. Eventually, the road ahead is clearly washed out by the swelling banks of the river. A detour around the washout heads into the forest, giving the more cautious members in the group pause when they investigate the sketchy looking trail. (red X on map)

Slows and turns to Magdal. "Lets continue at speed, I will go ahead and search the trail in front of us. We should draw and ready our projectile weapons.

Keya will draw his bow and ready a arrow and keep it in his left hand and hurry ahead about 25' and look on the trail for footprints or odd situations.

Gyb shakes his head when he sees the narrow trail ahead. He slaps Keya on the shoulder. "Thank you! Farlanghn go with you. Gyb's not going to."

Taking one of his javelins from his quiver, Gyb awaits the inevitable ambush.

Haldric follows along in his place. He looks at the path and trees and sniffs. "The trees are nice enough, I suppose, but give me the resilience of the bones of the earth around me. The caves will be welcome, indeed."

His thoughts trail off to what the Caves can, hopefully, reveal.

"I don't really have much for projectiles. I can throw a spear, but it won't go very far. I can be up front or in the back, wherever you want me."

Rida readies his crossbow, bring up the rear.

Loyn arrives out of breath,“Sorry I’m late, I had to run all the way here, but don’t worry, we dwarves are natural born sprinters!” He coughs a few times and moves up next to Stobart.

“Never been much for the woods either, but it looks like it’s the only way. Unless someone brought a boat?”

“Remember all the talk about bandits everyone!”

Stobart does his best to keep his eyes peeled.

"I'm quite fond of woods myself, they give refreshing shade after a long days walk, or help keep the wind and rain off. Off course the down side is that they are good for trouble to hide in, so you need to be on your toes."

He looks around the large people in front of him, wondering why the holdup. "Why are we stopping? That path? Those merchants and the carts just went by yesterday, it can't be that bad."

Nevertheless, he pulls his daggers and looks around. "Oh, right. Crabtree. Can I get my dagger back?"

Nods to Keya and nocks an arrow. She scans the ground before her, seeing if she can discern individual tracks from what she are assumes are many on this detour. After that she keeps a watchful eye on the woods on either side of the trail.
