He points to Xenos and nods. "Yes. I knew I liked you." Kain stands ready for the unknown.

Akhilleus also stands, sword ready. He leaves a bit of espace to his companions in case they need to retreat from something awful at the other side.
Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Xenos stands with Akhilleus, ready to support those in front if needed.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Cyril mutters, "Entropy is the dance of creation and destruction, and Azathoth's presence is palpable as we witness the fortress's decay..." his words trail off as he follows the others.

Kainaxarthos
"Ah, but you forget the rebirth of the fortress. Once lost, buried under the sand, the fortress is resurrected and finds a new purpose. Surely you can see the beauty in that."
Kain apparently can't help himself start a theological discussion with the chaos priest. While underground in a fortress filled with a cannibalistic snake cult possibly hiding just beyond that door. Priorities.

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
I better update before that convo gets out of hand.
The Zakath Desert
The Ruined Warlords Palace
Afternoon
Certain this door was locked the last time they were here, Drest now finds it easily accessible. Pushing the door in, the group finds what appears to be an old wine cellar. Broad steps descend 5 feet to a large room strewn with broken pottery and smashed crates. A few urns and casks remain intact, though they are covered in dust.
A faint odor of vinegar is coming from the urns, but there is another distinct smell in this room as well. Sweat. Akhilleus thinks he smells something as well, the stench of serpent, very similar to the odor he sensed when fighting the snake-men above.
Nothing stirs in the room when the torches are thrust into the darkness.
Actions?
Xenos (DS3) AC5 17/17
Drest (Sc4) AC7 22/22
Kainaxarthos (C2) AC6 11/11
Cyril (Pr2) AC8 7/7 CLW
Ceana (D2) AC5 13/13
Akhilleus (F3) AC4 32/32
Taibhse (Sh1) AC7 7/7
Belloc (M1) AC6 9/9
Sik (Ba1) AC5 12/12
This is what the group mapped so far. The room you are currently looking into is #17

Ceana follows Drest into the room, wrinkling her nose at the smell.
"Careful now," she whispers, torch held high, falcata in hand.

Kainaxarthos
Kain stays at the top of the stairs, hoping a higher vantage point will help spot problems. "Sour beer? No, wine. that's the vinegar."

Re: Return To The Ruins (Warlords Palace)
Akhilleus sniffs the air and wrinkles his nose.
"This smell is familiar to me... It's like the stench those snake men used to give off.
Drest, don't forget to check what's in those urns and those casks. I'll keep an eye on the rear."
After saying this, he remains in the initial room, with his attention more focused on the still-closed door than on the room his companions are searching.

Xenos
The warlock follows Kain into the room and waits at the top of the stairs, to the left of the door, and keeps watch while Drest searches.

"What's that now? Did I say something?" He cocks his head at Kain, looking truly inquisitive. "Regardless though, I do in fact see beauty in it. As long as the new purpose is not snake men trying to kill me. That is a thing I can't stand for."
As the group moves forward Cyril stays near the entryway. Now that things feel a bit more tense, he shifts to his sling.

Taibhse
He will move to the door bow still at the ready. Seeing the others checking the floor, items on the floor and walls, he then begins to look up at the ceiling and checking high on the walls for signs of anything out of place.

Afternoon
Drest enters the room and begins his search, finding nothing out of the ordinary along any of the walls.
Ceana follows, looking over the remains while the others stay near the doorway. She spots something strange on the floor mixed in with the broken pottery. It appears to be a disk of some kind.
