"I will volunteer to lead the group toward the Cave of Unknown in the morning, although my brother always called by the plural name.

I am offering a full share of what we find for all and expecting you to have your own equipment.

Sylla I greatly appreciate you trying to find a perfect balance, but we need to let individuals wishes shine through. I know that Stobart and Meinhardt expressed interest originally.

My plan is to exit the Keep, and head east on the North road. The part of the road is washed out so we will need to take the detour. This detour will be the most likely place to find the bandits waiting for us so if the Caves of Chaos group is with us that would be great. The final path I will propose will depend on the final complement that we have with us. Who is ready to head into the Unknown with me!"

Yes, Meinhardt said he would commit to Cave(s) of the Unknown with Renna and he is in that group with Renna in my suggestion.

"Caves of Chaos and Caves of Unknown? I have already commited myself to Renna's expedtion, so to the latter I will go. However, I am also interested in meeting this hermit. Perhaps if they are both in the same direction we could visit either?"

Stobart showed a map that seems to be the Caves of Chaos, not of Unknown, that's why I put him in that group.

"My father visited the caves in his youth, before I was born. He almost died and retired on the treasure he found. When I told him I was going to the caves he told me to be cautious and gave me this..."

Stobart looks between Renna and Loyn, seemingly unsure for a few moments. He then seems to make up his mind.

"I would like to be in Renna's group, at least for this first trip, if possible. Maybe I can swap with Haldric? Loyn, you are a good fellow, and I hope you find your father. If you swear to look after it I will lend you my father's map. That means you all need to make it back to the keep to return it to me. My father told me the goblins filled their tunnels with traps. He also warned me to stay away from these swarms of creatures, the size of a hawk with bat-like wings and pointy snouts. They suck your blood as you sleep! "

Sorry for not keeping this in OOC. I did consider that but ultimately decided people would miss those posts, decreasing our chances of successfully settling on groups even more.

Keya looks at the maps while mentally comparing them to his own map. He fills his mug again and wonders if he should go all in.

"Fingal. it looks like your map is a overview, I have a more specific one from my father Arin, can we compare?"

Keya said his fathers name a little hard, hoping that a local might know something of the father he never knew.

Keya pulls out the map case waiting for a reply.

The real name doesn't ring a bell with the locals either, but there have been a LOT of adventurers through this Keep over the years.

When Jess notices the strange arm on Crabgrass, she leans in close to the elf. “Hey mister. What’s with that metal arm there? Looks pretty cool.”

He eyes the pretty wench wondering if she is merely inquisitive or flirtatious. He lacks charisma to flirt back successfully most times so doesn't bother and his handicap or 'armicap' is usually a topic of conversation.

"I can grip a tankard with it, gesture a prayer or flip a page in my study books, use it to lean on my staff.

I oft blag I lost it wrangling crocodiles or had it hacked off by a barbarian but the truth is much closer to the bone.

You are an adventurer too? More dextrous and lucky than myself I hope.

Where would you adventure? You can hear my comrades plans, probably the same as a hundred others before them. What would you suggest?"

He asks figuring that she might know quite a few tavern rumours and remember adventurers returning with treasures and relics.

He will tip her the equivalent to his meal, -3sp trusting not to appear a cheapskate or an easy touch.

Jess smiles and nods, but not seductively. She does a quick sleight of hand trick with her offered coins, pretending to pull them from behind the elfs pointed ear from a formerly empty hand.

"I've seen those caves they're talking about a couple times. I haven't been out there in a while, but there are monsters there, to be sure. Very dangerous without the proper personnel."

She smiles again before hurrying back to her duties.

"Let me know if you need a good sneak. I don't like to call myself a thief, as I would never steal from anyone." She winks.

“Nice to meet you Calista, looks like everyone knows my father. So, he adventured with this Fingal, sounds like they were good friends …do either of you know where he is? Maybe he has some information.

Calista looks dejected for a moment. “I was about to ask you if you knew where Fingal was. And yes, they were two peas in a pod your da and Fingal. Those two really knew how to party, let me tell you.” She shakes her head and raises her eyebrows.

“Stobart, thank you for entrusting me with your father’s map. I’ll do my best to protect it and stay alive in the process! I hope we don’t encounter the blood sucking creatures you speak of, they sound extremely dangerous. The goblins like setting nasty traps? We’ll have to be very vigilant of our surroundings. We’ll need to visit the mercantile for some equipment to take with us to the caves and get the rest of our weapons at the gate as well. I’ll lead the expedition into the caves, I’m hopeful for what we might find!” He pulls out a sour smelling bone shaped rock, kisses it and places it back in his belt pouch.

Loyn responds to Calista,“Maybe they were together and that’s why no one has seen either of them! Just wondering if you ever saw my father with some sort of pet?”

Gyb concentrates on filling up with his two bowls of stew. He glances up occasionally as the conversation flits between which people are going to which cave. He pauses for a moment when Stobart, decides to go to the Caves of the Unknown. Gyb shrugs. "Fharlanghan's will".

Gyb slides back his chair. "The Caves? We all go there tomorrow, yes?" Once he receives an answer, Gyb replies. "Thank you. Now Gyb needs new boots". He limps out of the door.

Stobart smiles at Gyb as he heads out looking for shoes

"Gyb, either cave is an adventure, a new experience, and now Fharlanghn has a presence in both parties."

He looks around the table

"If nobody is averse I'd like to call on Fharlanghn to bless both our endeavours when we leave tomorrow. Don't worry, Fharlanghn's prayers tend to be short, no need to delay the journey for too long."

Keya takes the map out of his case.

"From my father. Looks like it might be the south side of your raise in elevation there.""

"There certainly are enough caves to keep a group busy for multiple excursions. The only area on your map, Loyn, that might tie up with my father's map is this area on the left, by the tree line."

He indicates the left part area of the map, in the middle where the trees meet the cave.

Calista smiles.

"Of course he had a pet. Bene was the smartest one in their group. I remember that since it's not often you get to have a conversation with a talking dog. People around here liked Bene even more than the other two. Smart dog. Good boy."
