Hansel mumbles to himself Does this damn "Armor" attract lasers? as he attempts to take down the remaining alcove guard, his aim thrown off by the searing pain wracking his body.

Shadrach reverses his swing, bringing the barrel up in an arc toward the underside of one of the guard's chin.

Taavi mentally says to the man in the stairwell, Drop your weapon and come out! You're outmanned and outgunned! We don't want to have to kill you.

Roll a Wis+Talk. The Difficulty will be higher because this is the same action you already failed last round. If you want to take a different route, revise your post. (You can use your other powers that require connection; you don't have to just talk at him.)

Sorry for the delay, I decided what I was going to post while at work, then forgot to post when I got home. Taavi will go with the telepathic communication again, hoping for better results. Not sure if I'm rolling correctly here.

Ambiance: Lux Aeterna

At one end of the hall, Shadrach and two troopers battle hand-to-hand. Shadrach again clunks one ineffectively on his armored helmet with his rifle butt, but one of the two guards clocks him right in the temple, blood trickling down his cheek (-6 to Shadrach). The others here the scuffle but cannot see around the corner to where they fight by the elevator doors.

In the mid-hall, Hansel lays down continuous fire that scorches along the wall where the stairwell door is, no clear firing solution on the last guard. At the same time, Taavi speaks into the guard's mind - Drop your weapon and come out! You're outmanned and outgunned! We don't want to have to kill you. The guard yells aloud, "Get out of my head!" and you hear his boots retreating down the stairwell. Emile waits to shoot, checking his bandages.

Nora works on Andres body while Dantes covers the hallway with his rifle and Oliver looks on... there is little to no hope, but she still doesn't give up.

OOC:

Guard rifle butts [1d20+4]=13+4=17[1d6+1]=5+1=6 [1d20+4]=4+4=8[1d6+1]=5+1=6
Shadrach is hit for 6hp. Shadrach's hit misses.

Taavi needs Wis+Talk to convince him which is a 2d6 roll (if you're unsure, just look at the spoilered rolls in the previous post. :) )
Taavi Wis+Talk [2d6+1]=7+1=8

With the raised difficulty and Hansel actively shooting at him, that's again a fail.
Note: even out of sight, Taavi still maintains the mental contact for all telepathy uses.

Admin:
You all waited for Emile to wake (with one hit point) then charged in. This sentence also applies:
any further damage kills them (no chance to stabilize). They require one week of bedrest before they shake off this fragility and can begin regaining additional Hit points normally.

I hadn't added Nora's care of him (per her Healer focus) which gives him 1d6+1 more.
Nora healed Emile [1d6+1]=5+1=6
So, just to be clear, he's operating on 7 hp.

Hit Points:
Shadrach (AC 16, 18 Shadows) 9 / 15 (-6)
Hansel Shatner (AC 15) 9 / 26
Emile (AC 20) 7 / 16
Taavi Perttu (AC 14) 14 / 14
Dantes (AC 14) 17 / 21
Nora (AC 13) 16 / 16
Oliver (AC 10) 3 / 3

Shadrach suddenly drops his shoulder and slams it into the chest of the guard nearest him, his legs driving as he attempts to shove him out into the main hallway. "Shoot him! SHOOT HIM!"

Taavi gives up on trying to keep one of the guards alive for questioning. He runs to get sight of the fight by the elevator, rifle ready.
If he can shoot this turn, he fires at the one on Shadrach.

Hansel, Hearing the shout, shifts his aim point and puts a burst into the last guard. Assuming he goes down, and we're out of combat He drops the battery from his laser rifle and fits another one in as he gets to his feet and checks to see how badly he is injured. Next, he'll see what he can do about getting the onboard comms on the laser-attracting suit up and running.

Laser rifle burst [1d20+5]=12+5=17 damage [1d10+4]=7+4=11
Fix [2d6+2]=11+2=13

Ambiance: Lux Aeterna

Shadrach suddenly drops his shoulder and slams it into the chest of the guard nearest him, his legs driving as he attempts to shove him out into the main hallway. "Shoot him! SHOOT HIM!" The guard stumbles backwards in to the main hall as he is knocked off-balance, his arms flailing. Ready with his weapon, Dantes pulls the trigger, his laser rifle blast arcing down the hallway towards the guard a perfect headshot. He lands in a pile on the floor. (-13)

Taavi pulls his rifle to shoulder and runs from his doorway down the hall toward's Shadrach's fight, his rifle shots go wide as he bounces and runs. Emile is right on his heels, his revolvers thundering as he loads bullets into the second (and last) guard. (-16) The guard drops, no opponents left.

Now alone in the guest suite's entryway, Hansel tweaks the electronics in his stormtrooper armor, managing to overcome the software block. The indicator lights turn from red back to amber and green, the internal speakers now full of chatter and the cardkeys apparently functional, according to his heads-up display. Hansel is able to hear the guards reporting on their fight with Shadrach, other guards positioning themselves in hallways beyond the security door and the security room that Andras told you would be there.

Somberly, Nora stands up from next to Andras and tells Dantes, "He's gone." Oliver looks sadly at Andras, then starts going through the circuit-skinned inventor's gadgets and sticking things in his own bag.

OOC:

You act first, the guards. So, guard #1 gets pushed into the hallway. Dantes had a held action and shoots at him.
Dantes (rifle burst) [1d20+6]=14+6=20 [1d10+3]=10+3=13

Taavi then misses, Emile hits.

The final guard from the middle group has disappeared down the steps to Deck 2, now two rounds out of view, but Taavi still has connection to his mind.

Hit Points:
Shadrach (AC 16, 18 Shadows) 9 / 15
Hansel Shatner (AC 15 18) 9 / 26
Emile (AC 20) 7 / 16
Taavi Perttu (AC 14) 14 / 14
Dantes (AC 14) 17 / 21
Nora (AC 13) 16 / 16
Oliver (AC 10) 3 / 3

Hansel shares I've gotten into their comms, and it looks like I have door/restricted areas access! Some of you might want to scavenge some of this armor, if it is still functional! He'll share the details that he can glean about their numbers, arms, and deployments/plans. Hopefully, they will be nice enough to show on the heads-up display. At the same time, he'll ask if we still have any first aid supplies left, as several of us are pretty shot up.

With a ten minute break, Nora can restore 1d6+1 hp for each of you (except Emile), once per day. This may or may not be an opportune time for another 10 minute break, though.

Hans lets you know that each of the guards (so, eight currently dead here) had one dose of Lift stim in an injector within their armor. (Injecting and then having 5 mins rest gives back 1d8hp and you gain 1 System Strain.)

Recovery otherwise takes days of rest. Your magical healer who could cause wounds to knit instantly, Balygyr, lies dead one deck below.

Hansel will help collect lift stims from the bodies. and check to see if there was one in his armor as well! He'll hold off on taking one himself for now, but make sure he has one on his person, and that everyone else does as well, giving the extras to Nora. I'm thinking we don't want to take the time to rest up now, unless we really have to. It gives the other side too much time to organize.

Emile says, So we've checked out the new guy's cell. Too bad he can't tell us more about what he was working on, but I say: let's trash it and then get back down.

These guys up here are up to no good. We stifle their operations as best we can then get planetside. Sound like a plan? We're at the top level now. We go level by level, raising hell as we go, and then teleport the heck out of here.

Ambiance: Bitter End

Hansel finds the autoinjector in his own armor, then pulls them from the other sets of armor still worn by the freshly-made corpses, passing the doses to Nora. (+4 doses of Lift) Considering, encourages the others to move on rather than rest now.

Though his telepathic link, Taavi continues to hear the surface thoughts of the escaping guard as he reaches the welcome center on the third floor.
What in the hells... why did they murder everyone? I thought they were on our side. Director Karen said she talked to them and they were operators under Mission #6. Shit, they smashed all non-lethal bots? Maybe they had a psychotic break... I would swear to Gods but I'ma non-believer... so much blood...
Emile suggests the group move swiftly to destroy the interdimensional portal that Andras was working on - which means going through the blast door before you, across the main security room, and into the comms room on the opposite side. Hansel watches his heads-up display and listens to the comms chatter, now that he has fixed the systems in his armor. The Comms chatter is sparse and relayed in codewords unknown to him. One thing he can guess, though, is they're identifying the downed guards by the biometrics in their suits, including those that are unconscious but not yet deceased (three of the eight guards). His heads-up display shows that the A-deck is far smaller than expected, essentially fitting all within the Hub on Deck B, as it has no extended arms. He counts 12 more guards and sees their arrangement as they hold, clearly prepared for assault.

The guards are dead. The blast door is still before you. Time is ticking.

Any ideas on how to get these blasted doors open? asks Emile. He studies them to see if he's ever encountered something like them in his Knight training, although he isn't confident.
