Wilwayaisawén
Torvik has phrased his enquiry well. It will be interesting to hear the response.
Wilwarin studies the man carefully, then turns her attention to their surroundings. Is he the local farmer he appears to be? Probably. But someone is using him. Are they waiting in ambush, and if so, where?
She asks, casually, in a voice pitched not to carry far from her immediate companions: If you were to pick a place around here to hide, where would you be?

Mave
She ponders Wilwarin's question, before softly answering so that only her companions can hear, "If someone is using the man to get to us, it doesn't really matter where they are hiding. They will try to draw us out regardless." She approaches the man smiling, "Good sir, I am Mave Gallowhawk, daughter of Lord Gallowhawk. If you'd be so kind as to answer Commander Torvik's question, we will answer yours."

Torvik looks around while waiting for a reply and says lowly back to Wilwayaisawén "Too many place good fer it. Anywhere just about works." he admits. "Any place wit plenty a cover where ya can get tha jump on someone works."

Nis half-draws her bow, keeping the tip pointed at the ground for now. She opens herself to the Lady of Copper and Crystal; feeling the surge of power rush through her veins. Her emerald eyes watch the surroundings with an intensity heretofore unobserved by her companions
Re: Hunt Or Be Hunted
The man who appears to be in his late fifties, pulls his dusty wide-brimmed hat off his head and says, "Beg pardon, Lady Gallowhawk. I'm Stefan Galleo, and I am honored to farm these lands under your father's charter. Two days past, a rather rough-looking elven gent gave me this envelope and five gold pieces to keep watch for any riders passing through my farmlands. He said if I should come upon any, to ask if there was a Wilwarin riding with them and to give them this letter. I know not its contents and I'm afraid I couldn't read it if I did, for I never learned. If the one called Wilwarin is not among you, I will return to my fields." He looks at Mave and Torvik questioningly.
Nis, her keen elven eyes ever watchful, takes note of a distant rider to the north coming in your direction.

Rider, north. Nis whispers in elven to Wilwayaisawén. If any others look her way she will silently cut her eyes north towards the rider

Stefan looks shocked at Torvik's question, "Commander, I assure you there are none in hiding, that I am aware of." He stands there awkwardly envelope in hand.
Vari notes Nis demeanor and nocks an arrow taking a protective stance and scanning the area indicated, though she cannot yet see the rider.
Nis estimates the rider is about 2 miles out.

Bryne
Bryne will look for some cover where she could hide and be unseen from the rider. She will ready her bow. "Best take some precautions."

Sigismund Yyragerne
A man that appears to be about 5'11" tall, 190 pounds, dark hair, olive complexion. He wears a blood red robe over black trousers and low soft boots. He carries a backpack on the back of his horse, a big grey. He has staff in his hand and you see he carries a few daggers, one on his belt, one in a baldric across his chest. He has a spell component pouch on his left shoulder. The staff rests in his stirrup and the rider moves slowly, then slows even more when he sees you, wary of brigands. He stops about 100 meters from you and looks at you.

Bryne
Bryne looks the horseman over carefully.
Softly for her companions only, "Armed like a mage or priest perhaps."
Loudly for the stranger, "Hail fellow traveler, I am Lady Valshire, may I inquire as to your name and business here? There have been some issues as of late with bandits."

The rider visibly relaxes and raises his hand in peace, "Greetings, my name is Sigismund Yyragerne, lowly wizard on a mission for his patron to Gulls Landing. What is happening on the road? Brigands you say? You are the first I've come in contact with all day. Is that why no one travels?"

If there is a trap, it is better to trigger it now, before more arrive.
To the farmer:
I believe I can see that letter into the hand of Wilwarin, but in these times it is wise know leaves letters for whom. This rough-looking elf, was he travelling alone, or in company, and what road did he take? Did he resemble this? - Wilwarin describes Zedamande.

Mave
Mave greets the stranger, "Hello, I am Mave and yes, we encountered a band of brigands a couple of days past and are escorting these three," indicating the three prisoners, "to the authorities in the Landing. You might want to accompany us, since the roads may not be safe. Several of the rogues escaped." She then turns her attention back to the farmer, "I can vouch for the commander, if he says he will deliver the letter to Wilwarin, I've no doubt he will do so."

"Thank you Mave, I had no idea it was this dangerous on this road, I will gladly join you." He moves forward slowly without rushing, not wanting anyone that might be jumpy decide he was a threat.

Re: Hunt Or Be Hunted
Stefan looks from Wilwarin to Torvik a bit perplexed, but he does answer the elven woman, "Aye, that certainly sounds like the elven man who gave me the envelope. He was alone, but kept looking over his shoulder like he was looking for someone. Weren't no one there, I could see anyways." He hands the envelope out to Torvik, "I'll be back to my work then, if you have no other questions," before glances at Mave, "Me best to your father, the good Lord Gallowhawk, milady and blessings on your family."
