given Raffi is only down 1HP and Hex is only down 5 these two are the least deserving of the healing. Someone else should speak up.

In the Jotens - Healing Up
Waterday, 12th day of Planting, 597
7th day since leaving Loftwick

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 32/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 30/65, Armor 23/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 23/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 32/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 28/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 22/27, Armor 5/8)
Raffi (AC 6, HP 20/21)
Boff (AC 5, HP 29/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 16/26)

Garrant heals himself for 3 hp, Qleceec for 4 and Nah Olos for 5.

Raffi takes a Short bow and 10 arrows in a quiver. Qleceec please post other than filling up the quiver what additional arrows / quivers you are taking.

Based on the post, I am spreading out Siouxsie healing to Qleceec for being willing to giving thanks to the spirits of nature. (6 hp) Per the post of the most wounded, I will give that Frannie 8 HP. There are still a few spells left in the group. The group did not start this fight at full strength.

There is still the open question on the ballista (which I assume is being left behind or destroyed, but that is just an assumption) and I would like some clarity if the group wants to try and camp on the southern hill or keep going. For reference it is about 2:30 PM. The light rain is letting up and the visibility is up to about 150-200 feet. The group is a little behind the days walking pace from the rain & mud and of course you are moving slower than you would if you still had the horses.

Next actions please!

Nah Olos takes a quick look around to see how easy it would be to hide the ballista in the surrounding foliage.

I would agree with that assessment. With some work you could take it around one of the two hills with the hope there is better cover there, but at present it is unexplored.

Siouxsie

Happy to heal folk and put in some proselytizing to convert folk to heathen customs, she will grab gear and march along.

I think personally walking on to our objective the best course of action. Let the Hobgoblins encounter the dragon and Sheltke and we slip by.

Frannie uses up her store of healing for the day.
Boff wants nothing to do with a dragon in our current condition and agrees with Siouxsie that walking to our destination is the best course. He will offer to scout ahead if we go through any overgrown or likely ambush spots.

Androgst proposes to make a light and lightless camp on the southern cliff in a defensible position. They'll clear their tracks as best they can on the path they take. If it means heading a little more east to find a secure place to hole up for the evening to rest, so be it.

In the Jotens - Continuing
Waterday, 12th day of Planting, 597
7th day since leaving Loftwick

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 38/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 30/65, Armor 23/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 29/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 32/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 33/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 22/27, Armor 5/8)
Raffi (AC 6, HP 20/21)
Boff (AC 5, HP 29/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 16/26)

Frannie heals Garrant for 5 hp, Qleceec for 6 and Nah Olos for 6 with thank you's all around.

The group discusses various plans, but in the end decides to leave the battlefield as it is (except for a bow by Raffi and some arrows that were picked up by Qleceec & Raffi) - including the bodies, the ballista and coinage that was found and try to minimize any trails left in the mud and take advantage of the remaining daylight hours and continue heading east down the trail towards the dwarven settlement. If there was something that you wanted to do that I missed please let me know in the next post.

The rain continues to lighten up and eventually stop as the afternoon continues. The visibility does not really improves as the rain clears the sun also heads toward setting. The group travels as long as the light will allow wanting to put as much distance as possible between them and the hobgoblins not to mention the dragon and his servants. As the day is coming to an end you find a bramble of blackberries that is growing on the southern side of the road. The bramble will at least keep a causal wanderer from coming from the south into the camp and perhaps give a small bitter sweat treat to the party as well. Finding dry wood is not an option unless someone wants to help with magic.

I will assume the normal watches.

As a reminder, there was an expectation that you would be getting to the dwarven settlement on day 10 (or early day 11) and this is the end of day 7.

Hex looks at the berry bush. And then at the druidess. Don’t you have a spell that can turn these into healing berries that last for days? he asks her hopefully. He will set out his remaining warding stones to keep the main approaches to the camp covered.

Raffi will try and get some instruction on how to utilise the bow from the ranger once they have set the camp. He won’t use any arrows but he will nock them and follow Quellec’s instructions on how to aim and fire. If she is willing to show him. M

Before settling down to sleep Hex will cast Phantom Armour upon the halfling once again.

Garrant

"I miss the warmth of a fire after that walk. The next time we find some dry wood, let us collect extra and I will place it in my extradimensional bag for next time. Before I retire tonight I have one healing spell left for whomever wishes it."

Androgost or Boff seem most injured, but there’s a fair few of us who are damaged. Perhaps start with one of them? Raffi says in a quiet voice, overstepping his boundary.

Androgst nods towards Boff to indiciate the healing should go to him. He will then take the time to clean his armor and sword and remove the hobgoblin gore that has accumulated on them.

To take his mind off of the lack of fire, he thinks ahead of what's to come. "We have a few days of travel at least, and so should be mindful of another hobgoblin attack. They won't let such an insult go unanswered - I wouldn't. But this camp we are heading towards, any ideas of what we may find there?"

Garrant casts his healing on Boff:

CLW: [1d6+2]=2+2=4

Maybe Boccob is trying to tell him something with his poor healing rolls

Qleceec

Qleceec will clean herself and gear up. "We are not in the best of shape and I agree with Androgost, the Hobgoblins are likely to strike again if they can. We should be extra alert tonight."

In the Jotens - New Day
Waterday, 13th day of Planting, 597
8th day since leaving Loftwick

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 39/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 31/65, Armor 24/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 30/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 33/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 34/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 23/27, Armor 5/8)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 5, HP 34/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 17/26)

Garrant heals Boff for 4 points and Hex casts Phantom Armor on Raffi- all with yesterday's spells. If there was any final yesterday spells to be cast please note that in the next post.

As the group is settling down for the night there were lots of discussion topics including Hex asking Siouxsie if she can use magic on the blackberries, Raffi looking for training from Qleceec, Garrant wishing for dry wood and multiple people talking about the likely hobgoblin attack tonight. The continued on and off drizzle does not help the mood. As the sun sets and group has normal watches but the night is pretty uneventful.

When the sun rises in the morning, there is a heavy fog but no rainfall at this moment - perhaps progress. In addition, the party is pleasantly surprised that hobgoblins and other evil creatures give the group the night off. (1 HP added for all characters - already included.)
