Sergreb "Hmm so going right for the head of the snake? That could work, I think others have tried or perhaps they are just stories to try and keep the rest of us in line. But I've heard it's not as easy a task as one might think."

"I imagine it is not. But going in and out just alerts them we are here and coming for her and allows them to prepare better defenses. But I do understand that it makes it hard on us for both healing and magic so will defer to the group decision."

Zylore nods.
"I'm with Egon. We came here to take care of this evil queen. Let's focus on that and then we can loot the place, if that is what you wish."
The ranger looks up at Sergreb. "Can you help us? Get us close? Maybe we could masquerade as prisoners you are leading to see her and then spring our plan when we get there. By the way, we need a plan, whether we are 'prisoners' or not."

Sergreb shrugs "It could work she knows I go out to hunt for Gekk's food. Were you the ones that left all those dead topside outside the mine's hidden entrance? That was some handy work. If that wasn't you we can claim it was you and that I caught you sneaking around."

Moving Ahead
Moving forward after gaining another ally you pass many doors Sergreb the ogre shows you around the passage he used from his quarters to sneak up around to attack you while occupied by his owlbear Gekk. As he described you see many empty holding cells with old mattresses most of the rooms are empty except for the one with a skeleton remains of whomever it once held prisoner. There is another door to the East that is not a holding cell and appears to be a larger room since no others doors enter the space. There are also two other doors in the south that do not appear to enter any of the holding cells. The hallway turns westward and appears to go on for a short distance of 50 feet then turns south again and goes on southward for about 60 feet or so. When asked about the first door that is not entering a dungeon cell Sergreb explains that is the fortresses old store room that contains only utterly rotted food , sacking, and some smashed glass and earthenware. The queen was too lazy to bother clearing it out to put it to use to the trash remains inside still. He does not open the door unless you wish to see for yourselves. (Door to the east on the map near the holding cell hallway next to Zylore on the map).
The two doors up ahead that do not lead to cells Sergreb explains in a low almost whisper are both entering the same one larger room that some guards stay in. They tend to leave the ogre alone, especially after he killed the one disresptful guard that was found dead in his chambers when the group encountered him.
Area 27 Description: THE CELLS OF THE DUNGEON
These six cells each have peephole shutters in the corridors, but nothing can be seen through them since it is dark inside each cell. Each cell contains a filthy mattress, manacles and chains set into the walls, and the like. The only "occupied" cell is #27e, which has a skeleton in the manacles and chains.

Re: Chapter 6: The Evil Queen & Her Fortress
Looking at the map, are we heading north or south? Also, are we tied up (as part of the ruse of being prisoners) or just walking freely for now?
Winter is coming...
Re: Chapter 6: The Evil Queen & Her Fortress
I thought we were tied up, my post was just to keep us moving. Not sure which direction though.
Re: Chapter 6: The Evil Queen & Her Fortress
I think we are heading south? Looks like the other way is north up the stairs.

Re: Chapter 6: The Evil Queen & Her Fortress
I'm calling the bottom of the map south so yes you would be going south. If you tied up the ogre then sure he is tied up. I had him put his owlbear back in it's pen to eat for now. If you are going as the ruse then yes you are tied up but the ogre cannot stay both in front and behind you.

Delsenora & Elanriel
Delsenora & Elanriel go along with the ruse, but keep focus rear especially if the ogre is right behind them!

Our ruse was that WE are the ones tied up; "prisoners" of the Ogre. Is that not what we're doing?

OK, good since I thought the same as hedgeknight. But I am easily confused at times.
