Siouxsie
Siouxsie: Wisdom check vs 16 [4d6]=17
Siouxsie: uses QuaterStaff-sling in melee. [1d20]=16 damage s/m [1d6]=5
I will club senseless the emerging babies in order to restrain them from flying away.

In the Jotens - Second Watch
Moonday, 10th day of Planting, 597
5th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 63/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 61/65, Armor 23/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 26/27, Armor 8/8)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 5, HP 48/61)
Frannie (AC 4, HP 16/26)
For everyone except Qleceec and Siouxsie
Two hill giants each carrying a boulder and club come into the camp. None of the party members are surprised. The giant each say something (most likely to the other) in a language that none of you understand. The Initiative roll for the GM side 5 (first player to roll 1d10, rolls for the party and highest roll goes first). They do not smell the best and are obviously upset over something. An orange H1 and H2 have been added to the map.
For only Qleceec, Siouxsie, Garrant, Hex and Raffi
Qleceec is focused on her target, Siouxsie getting ready to smash babies and Garrant, Hex and Raffi are looking around. There is clearly something larger than a man west of Qleceec and Garrant heading this way. A Green arrow has been added to the map. The same Initiative roll will be used for GM side as mentioned above.

Qleceec will watch and try to determine what is coming.

Siouxsie
She speaks Hill Giant in her polyglot repertoire, so if called she can advocate between us and them.
In the meantime she will stun one of the emerging Sheltke hopefully, binding its legs and wings together with some cord.
Siouxsie: initiative [1d6]=1

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Frannie yells out There's at least three of them! before trying .....to hide even more.
I'm thinking Frannie has Hold Person still memorized. BtB, Giants aren't in the list of "persons." I believe that Frannie would know if that were just a scribe's oversight or not. IF it might impact a hill giant, she will cast Hold Person on the nearest. If not -which is totally fair, she will hide and prepare her sling.
Boff attempts to move silently through the undergrowth to set up a back attack on the nearest of the big folk
Move Silent target 75 [1d100]=56
Hide in Shadows target 61 [1d100]=55

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Hex will cast Paralyzation on both hill giants, if they are within the range of his spell. He will make sure he centres the area of effect so that the edge won’t include frannie when she hides.
Raffi will watch for the incoming green arrow monster, and if it gets within reach he will leap onto its back and try and backstab

Greys Campaign.
Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
OK, I will call this poor communication from the GM. I was checking for how well the "bad people" coming from places unnoticed were viewed (hence the _4d6) and then I rolled a 5 of Initiative and was trying to get a players to roll initiative and if you beat the 5 you would get to act first. The group got a 1 for initiative so the "bad people" get to act before our heroic adventurers. I will post the "bad peoples" move hopefully tonight and let people act again.

Ground, but more on that in the next post
Not an oversight, if you notice the largest creature is a Gnollredwarrior wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 4:19 pm Frannie yells out There's at least three of them! before trying .....to hide even more.

In the spirit of do what you can, where you can, she will target the knoll exclusively with her hold person.gurusql wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 11:54 pmGround, but more on that in the next post

Garrant keeps an eye on the approaching creature (green arrow)
Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
In the Jotens - The encounter
Moonday, 10th day of Planting, 597
5th day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 63/63)
Androgost (AC 5 [no armor -6], HP 48/65, Armor 23/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 53/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 48/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 49/50)
Hex (AC 0, HP 26/27, Armor 8/8)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 7 [no armor 5], HP 45/61)
Frannie (AC 9 [no armor 4], HP 10/26)
I will assume that people have any shields they have even though there was no mention of picking them up. With the "bud guys" winning initiative, the two hill giants move past Frannie. All of the Hill Giants have a club and a single rock.
H1 moves up and attempts to hit Androgost with his club. Androgost not having his armor on is a much easier target and takes 13 points from the club smash.
H2 moves up and attempts to hit Boff with his club, before he has a chance to get out of the camp. Boff also has no armor on, but only takes 3 point from the club smash.
H3 moves up from behind and attacks Frannie with his club doing 6 points.
H4 bursts through the trees and does not immediately see Nah Olos and throws his one rock at Hex. He yells something that no one seems to understand. The rock misses doing no damage.
One of the Hybrids (green dragon body and lion head) comes bounding out of the trees running with a wing assisted leap. It gets next to Qleceec and lets out a large roar. Both Qleceec and Siouxsie need to make a save vs. Paralyzation as the sound was so terrifying. Regardless of the roll both of you cannot hear anything at this point. (and will have -1 to hit and a chance to flub spells cast)
After the roar and even with the disorientation, you notice a wave of Shtelke armed with spears (1 each) that spend their action moving up to you, obviously waiting on the roar before moving.

Qleceec
Save vs Para (10) [1d20]=20
She attacks the hybrid with her sword.
Long Sword +2 [1d20+2]=14+2=16 to hit [1d12+4]=8+4=12 damage
Long Sword +2 [1d20+2]=1+2=3 to hit [1d12+4]=7+4=11 damage
-1 to hit penalty already included in rolls. Second attack is a natural 1.
