Arngeir

The Ivinian clears his throat. "Yes, let's get going." . He starts walking in the direction of Meldun.

Gerolt nodded as Arngeir spoke. "A willingness to admit struggle takes a courage that few have. My challenges are different, but they are there. How can I help you overcome?"

Arngeir stops and turns towards Gerolt

"I...am not sure. I will think as we travel."

Afternoon of the 2nd of Nolus. Summer. Weather is cloudy, might rain some, might not. Onward

After resting a lots of discussion everyone sets out for the village of Meldun. The next stop of their journey to Burzyn.

The journey is peaceful and no one is encountered until you almost reach Meldun. You arrive with plenty of light remaining to the day but the villagers seem to have wrapped up their work for the days or in the process of finishing up. You are greeted by friendly smiles as all of you are known here and some of you have spend considerable time here. You have an hour or so until dusk.

Algrim and Turnip spent a week here while Arngeir traveled to Genin and met Murgar. Gerolt is also well known in these parts as it is part of his circuit. Volin recently re-supplied here after his journey down the Genin trail with a caravan.

Gerolt suggests the drake head be kept under wraps.

How far is it to Caermel? Could the group make it that far?

You are 2+ leagues (5+ miles) from Caermel. Your movement rate in daylight for terrain situation would be 5 leagues/watch (12.5 miles per 4 hours). You have 1 hour of daylight left so you would be covering the last couple of miles in the dark and arriving at night. You would be passing through 2 other manors on the way, the last one in the dark. It would make finding a place to stay more difficult and would almost guarantee you get questioned by someone on arrival and possibly at the other 2 manors as well. Not necessarily a bad thing but worth noting. If you are up early and on the road early it will take you at most 2 hours and you would be arriving before noon easily.

Groups call.

If the manors would pass them on, based on Gerlot, and the season would allow rooms to likely be available, I'd suggest pressing on.

Murgar

I agree, lets max our travel. Maybe stay at the last manor before dark, or simply camp out at dusk.

"Eldura, that sounds like a fine name. Some good leather and a crossbow seem like good choice too." he looks thoughtful for a few seconds, looking like he is going to say something else before stopping then he looks down, shakes his head and looks up and at the others. "There is something I need to tell you before we return to civilisation. It is difficult for me to admit, but Sarajin promotes courage and courage comes in many forms...I have a problem with drink. Given the opportunity I will drink too much and pass out. I find it difficult to make myself stop. It has not been a big problem while I have been out in the wilderness but now we are returning civilisation with an important plan and I don't wish this to cause problems. I think this is one of the reasons my father send me south travelling, to try and help me break this problem."

He looks down, embarrassed.

Volin grunts and frowns when Arngeir completes his confession. "I have a couple of friends in Azadmere who may be able to help ya with that. Mayhap we can meet with them one day in the near future. For now, we'll get through it."

Eldura (the artist formerly known as Turnip)

"It's good that you admit that you have a problem Arngeir, but I think the root cause lies in your, how to put it, confrontational way of living, and not in the drug itself. You should find a way to experience the sensation without the unpleasant side effects. I know this is possible, because I have practiced it. We all did, in the congregation. You know, there are other pleasures you could try if you struggle with alcohol as well. That might help you. Just my two drams' worth." She starts doing tricks with her coins once more.

Sorry for feeding into your addiction, but Halea is the mistress of plearues, indulgence and debauchery....

We can press on as suggested.

Evening of the 2nd of Nolus. Summer. Weather is cloudy, light rain. Onward

The party decides to push on to Caermel.

The journey picks up pace as everyone decides they want to spend the night in Caermel. The light fades and it starts to lightly rain. You push through the manors of Docialon (21 households) and Kynadin (24 households). You get some stares but it doesn't seem that anyone wants to stand in the rain to question an obviously well armed group. Caermel (28 households, noticeably smaller than Meldun's 38) seems to at least have some people out and about and a guardsman stops you and asks your business and why you are out on the trail past dark.

Sir Gerolt

"Hullo! Good work, always challenge me. I am Sir Gerolt of Selot." It was time to give his horse a rest, and Gerolt dismounted before moving forward and taking off his helmet. He was relaxed and smiling. "Caermel is our destination, and we were close enough to press on. But now my friends and I would like to rest for the evening. Where would be best to seek rooms?"

Algrim smiles through all his facial hair and bushy eyebrows hoping to look as friendly as possible without showing his teeth and freaking the fellow out. He gives a nod of his head and a friendly greeting wave. Feeling he is smiling a bit too long the dwarf relaxes his face and stands a ease arms at his side.

Volin pats Lulu's neck and says to her, "We'll have you out of the rain and in a dry stall in no time, good girl. Maybe some sweet oats tonight for supper, eh?"

Eldura, being professionally trained at giving warm and friendly smiles, might fare better.

"Evening, evening mam." she nods to the left and to the right.
