General Chatter
Re: General Chatter
Me too.
Re: General Chatter
You are currently west of the black tower and, while you haven't fully explored the NW quadrant of the map, you think you're "inside" the trench.
EDIT: If you wanted to head back to Fort Advance, you could head SE and avoid the tower. If you want to head straight toward Ket, you could head NE and avoid the tower. Your problem is that you know there's a road directly from Fort Advance to the bridge to Ket but if you go NE, you don't know what sort of roads you'll find once you reach The Farms.

Re: General Chatter
Three votes to head back so I am assuming that wins.
Next question: complete the exam of the NW quadrant or head straight back? And if heading straight back, are you going to Fort Advance to get to the main road, or just heading NE and assuming you'll find roads once you hit The Farms?

Re: General Chatter
Depends on timing from my point of view. If we can finish the quadrant and still be back not to long after dark I say we go for it. If we are going to have to spend the night out or arrive late (and potentially draw extra attention from the guards etc) we head back now.
Re: General Chatter
You have roughly an hour left in the 10 hour "adventuring day". You can travel three miles in that hour (in clear terrain like the grasslands you're in). You are more than three miles away from The Farms.
I don't see any rules for force marching in WWN but I'd rule the penalty is that you wouldn't get a full night's rest and thus wouldn't be able to recover System Strain, gain natural HP healing, etc., until you got a regular night's sleep.
So if you wanted to "force march", you could make it back tonight. There's still a decent chance you wouldn't make it across the river because the gates will be locked but it will be safe to camp in The Farms.

Re: General Chatter
I will suggest then that we finish exploring and camp out tonight. Then head back in the morning after a good rest (with recovery).
Re: General Chatter
With your magic healing, we are healthy and with minimal system strain. The strain builds up over longer adventuring but for the moment is no big deal.
I like the forced March to ensure egg viability.

Re: General Chatter
I agree--I think we can afford the forced marching tonight.

Agreed. And if the eggs are kept bundled against the mule's side, they're probably going to be kept warm enough.

Re: General Chatter
Let me know when the party has concrete plans on what they want to do in Ket and when they want to return to the wilderness.
Re: General Chatter
I am thinking we collect our coin. Spend the night and head back out.
Re: General Chatter
+1
Whatever Mikhail and Ciarra think for group supplies is good for me.
A good night's rest in the inn to clear System Strain. Set out in morning, head straight out and start sweeping the NW quadrant and then the second Hex.
Re: General Chatter
Agreed on the sweep.
Re: General Chatter
Looks like we have three votes for resting one night to wipe out System Strain and then returning to the wilderness.
I am assuming that you're going to return to the same hex to complete the sweep. Let me know if that's incorrect.

Re: General Chatter
We'll assume for all animals that a saddle and/or pannier is included in the overall price.
For items not listed in the rules:
Tarp is 10 sp
Cord and rope are all the same price
We'll assume "working" axes are half the price of their comparable "fighting" axes.
So a hatchet is 5 sp and a wood axe is 25 sp.
Please tally it up and let me know who is paying what.
I am leaving treasure distribution to the party. If I was asked, I would say I consider the eggs and the bracelet to be party treasure. The animal parts kind of fall into a gray area but if there's more than one PC who wants to collect them, then that should also be considered party treasure.
Finally, I am awarding every PC two XP. One for their first combat and one for their first successful return from an expedition.

Re: General Chatter
Also let me know if you're selling the bracelet.
Re: General Chatter
Are we doing Fast Leveling or Slow Leveling tracks for play-by-post?
I feel like it is more portable as a bracelet.
