IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Lavin mutters to herself as the group backs away. "Still think Gars should've magicked 'em."

Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Gars grimaces at Lavin. "...it doesn't really work like that."
Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Lavin glances side-eye at Lars. "Well, maybe you're not that great a sorcerer."

Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
"Sorcerer?" Gars says in surprise. "I said that I study magic, that's not... I mean, it's not that simple..."
He trails off lamely, taking the moment to inspect and adjust the mule's harness straps.

The man seems to gain some confidence as he sees the party leave with their tails between their legs. He points east.
When the water is above your head!
The archers guffaw and jeer upon hearing this joke.

Ciarra chuckles at the joke and keeps walking.

What does the party want to do next?

"I saw we continue on towards the swamp, we have a goal there."

Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Lavin suggests circling around the tower out of bowshot and proceeding with the original plan: sweeping up through the grasslands beyond the farmsteads toward the swamp.

Mikhail
Mikhail fakes a smile and turns his back to the men at the tower. Bugger a duck. he growls through gritted teeth. When Lavin makes the suggestion, he nods.
But out of their view. We don't want them to come after us.

Hallastor Hills
Mid-afternoon
The party walks back the way they came for a few hundred yards and then turns west. The antlered antagonists appear not to be following you.
You walk for about an hour and come across the same trench situation as before. The trench runs north to south, as best you can tell.
Crossing the trench and skirting along the Hills, you decide to turn NW and head for the swamp. Walking for another hour or so, it looks like the sun is low enough in the sky that it's time to find a campsite and settle down. The only problem is that you've come to this conclusion right as you come across more giant elk tracks. Does the party want to camp nearby, regardless of the tracks, or put some space between them and the path?

Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
Gars poses as Belegroc's hoof lands in the cavernous print of the elk, dwarfing the mule by comparison. "...good idea," says to Ciarra.
As the more skilled wilderness trekkers choose a site, Gars begins unpacking the mule with some excitement, unrolling superfluous black and green ribbons. "I really negotiated well... even got them to include sable and vert banderoles; my house's colors. Now - the annals of the Mermidain campaigns of the 4th century Punitive Wars were very exact in their detail of what supplies are needed, and I think I have it all here. Our plates and utensils are wooden instead of bronze but I think utility over poverty can be excused in our case as I do have a proper kettle and stewpot, long-handled campfire forks and ladles... of course canvas, bedding..." he stops, confused for a moment as if noticing their compact rucksacks for the first time. "Wait... don't the rest of you have tents?"

Re: IC 002 - Crossing the Moche
"You mean that flag-thing?" Lavin regards the banderole critically. "I don't know how much extra you paid for that, or if you have trouble with colors, but it's black and green, not...whatever you said."

Mikhail
Mikhail can't supress his laughter as the greenhorn starts unpacking. Ye'll be all night settin' that up- and half of tomorrow packin' it!
After he's done razzing Gars, he puts together his own camp. If you folks can start a fire, I'll set some snares- maybe have a rabbit for our breakfast. He'll set three snares, upwind of the campsite, then gather firewood on the way back.

Kaithar the Unhoused
Kaithar goes about helping set the camp, setting up a blind to provide some cover, gather dead wood and gather edible vegetation.
survival rolls for setting up camp, setting blind, finding food
Before sitting down around the fire to eat, he sets out his bedroll between the fire and a tree.

Hallastor Hills
Late afternoon
Having left the area around the black tower, the party continues to investigate the area directly west and south of Fort Advance. With the sun getting low, the party reviews what they've found.
The trench runs across the area for miles. You're not sure how far it extends to the north but from where you saw it east of the tower, it runs south for 2 or 3 miles, then turns SW for another 2 or 3 miles, then north for 2 or 3 miles.
Other than the grouse living in copses of trees a mile or so west of the Fort, the only evidence of lairs you've found is a set of mysterious holes in the ground about three miles due south of the tower. They look like gopher holes, if gophers were as big as elephants. The holes are easily 10x10 wide, if not 15x15.
I am going to assume the party moves away from the holes and camps for the night. Actions for the following day? Feel free to roll Survive or Know rolls to gain more info on the holes
