Re: OOC Chat
Concerning the offer to pay coin and leave our steeds: Androgost does not have blood lust as the GM indicates. The offer is really no different than the one made earlier (maybe more expensive at this point), pretty much ends with the group recognizing that the dragon folk own the mountain, and leaving. Not something he is willing to do. Other ideas are welcome.

Re: OOC Chat
Agreed, we would have to give up our mission.
Re: OOC Chat
I think we need to take a Shtelke prisoner. It will help in understanding who and what they are and we could possibly still communicate to Prebish via its ability to possess one.
A tactical withdrawal rather than a retreat. We have some intelligence on their fighting ability and numbers and now we are known, have no present ability to sneak about unnoticed.
If we have gathered enough intelligence to make better educated decisions, not just by ourselves but alongside the local community leaders, then that could be a prudent point to leave.

Re: OOC Chat
For the record I said "perhaps" and facts are you did not reply at all to the offer and instead ran headlong into battle (to save Garrant) - either way it was just a little prose.spanningtree wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 11:38 pm Concerning the offer to pay coin and leave our steeds: Androgost does not have blood lust as the GM indicates. Re: OOC Chat
We didn’t really hurt them all that badly. We were just getting overwhelmed. They could have killed most of us. They let us live for a reason. Let’s find out why.
Perhaps our next parley with the dragon will yield some more clues at least.
But we must press forward to figure out what is causing the tremors.

Re: OOC Chat
All good! I just wanted folks to know where Androgost stands.
If folks feel like we should take the opportunity to regroup and assess I would be up for that as well.

Re: OOC Chat
Perhaps something more innocuous might be safer. If she has noticed as flying birds or bats indicative of the area she could turn into one of those and follow the retreating Shleke (I can’t spell that) back to their lair and then inform the rest of us where it is and what they are doing maybe. From a much safer distance. Maybe with some buffing spells as well.Spearmint wrote: ↑Tue Mar 21, 2023 8:20 pm Siouxsie
Crazy idea. I will share it, you can all add input.
I could morph into a horse form, get rounded up by the Shtelke and led to their cave, base. You guys follow my trail?
Unless the horses are being rounded up to become dragon food? Do they need mounts if they have wings?

Re: OOC Chat
Agreed.
Re: OOC Chat
If it is just the issue if having a high charisma character that makes him a de-facto group leader we can still share the burden of decision making between us.
Re: OOC Chat
I have no issues with sharing the decision making in any case. If it helps to keep Spanningtree that is a bonus.

Will be away from gaming for a few days, family time over Easter and the bank holidays.

Re: OOC Chat
Sorry for being a flake this week! My wife goes in for surgery tomorrow. It should be a one day thing, but I expect to be offline until sometime Sunday, at least.
Re: OOC Chat
Wishing you and your wife all the best!
Re: OOC Chat
Everything crossed here for your wife. I hope it goes really well and she recovers super swiftly buddy.

Think the largest animal you can shapeshift into is a black bear. A rhino or horse is way too big.
But maybe an enlarge spell on Suzie as a black bear might be pretty potent. It would double her size (and possibly her attack damage as well)

Re: OOC Chat
Correct, phb pg 21, in 1e the max size is "(about double the weight of the Druid)". If someone has Enlarge that would boost size and potentially damage per the spell, but it depends on the level of the caster. It does say 12' humanoid would be ogre strength and 18' would be giant strength. I would argue that a bear would be stronger than a human at those sizes, so maybe 12' would be hill giant strength bonus (19). Better than fighting in human form if she is out of useful spells.
Re: OOC Chat
sorry did I misunderstand the former post? I was under the impression the dragon and cohorts were flying in to engage with us.
If they sre flying away then she votes just for going to sleep.
