I'd rather Prerna's team focus on threats from the arcology. I'm concerned they could set up a sniper up there to pick us off as we search about. Also worried about ships with bombs or attackers.

If my last post leaves the flight deck unguarded, assume Jess sends people off one at a time until all her team are armoured up.

That's a nope.
The flight deck is unguarded because you physically can't guard all of it and (possibly) because you don't want/need to...
It is under overwatch from both the Spire top and the Gatehouse but is a civilian small craft dock (which is what you propose to be). So there is plenty action from smugglers (The Shore/4DC) and your "WTF are they unloading now - that's fekkin' military shiiit!" (Iyhlua clan) business partners.
The SEMC tactical response is to send the task force (as per intent and previous posts) to secure the flight deck.
Jess' team can't both armour up and coral the civvy folk so must operate at at least "half narrative speed".
In game speed / narrative terms you're good.

That's probably good - I'm helping a newbie through chargen on my game, using a custom career in a ruleset (MgT1) they've never read/don't own, in their second language.

Weirdly any test under Striker would go as per the Vehicle Commander's morale rating so Grav Veh 0 as a background skill would actually do but you'll surely have a picked competent "wheelsman".
Lummie, "Cannibal's" a bit worrying as a handle - Dr Lecter I presume?!? Kildare might be more reassuring but Carver or Nookey might be something of a Carry On...
If Ash is going to cause you problems with the Evil Dead he might need to add Melee 1 Chainsaw - Groovy!
