Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
OOC : apologies
That’s the basic save. Not including the +2 from his cloak of protection and either his dodge bonus from his dexterity or his wisdom bonus Vs mind effecting magic.
Am not sure what might count or not.

The Cloak bonus will apply.

Siouxsie
Siouxsie: 7+ save vs Paralysis (5+ if Wisdom based) [1d20]=14
Deafened slightly but not intimidated, somehow she hears those flying in through the trees behind her. Acting upon instinct, she will invoke her Entangle spell to create a 40'ft diameter bubble within the tree canopy and undergrowth that causes the roots and branches to extend to grasp and hinder those creatures flying in.

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Just for clarification, at the moment you are deaf. The stuff "you heard" was from a post two calendar weeks ago and before you started the Control Winds spell. If you still want to do this I am fine, but if you want to change I am good with that as well.Spearmint wrote: ↑Sat Mar 11, 2023 7:59 pm Siouxsie

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
sorry if I misunderstood. The dragon/lion creature has roared which caused the deafening. Not sure I understand the comment about 'two weeks ago'? Is that deafness meant to be ongoing?
If I can see these, I will try to Entangle them. If not, I will cast Entangle upon the group of Shtelke Blue 2,3,6 and the beast.
Coming from above the tree tops and out of the area of the gas are another wave of creatures. There are six more Shtelke and new creature that I will cover in a moment. Four of the Shtelke head for Hex and Siouxsie. They will not get to attack this round.

"Deafened slightly" - You cannot hear at all.
"but not intimidated" - Excellent
"somehow she hears those flying in through the trees behind her" - What is this referring to? What creatures are you talking about? Where do you want to cast this spell. You cannot hear anything (but ringing in your ears) so what do you think you hear? I had assumed you must be referring to a private post from two calendar weeks before but clearing no idea what you are talking about.
You can see Blue D, Blue2, Blue3 , Blue 6, Yellow3, Yellow4, Yellow5, Yellow6 all are below the tree line.
Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
ah ok. You described the four creatures flying in, so my description was to justify how she might have seen or heard them.
The deafened state I took as a momentary thing.
It is fine, if we don't know those reinforcements (yellow 3,4,5,6) are flying in. I will target those in blue which I can see with my Entangle spell.

Boff heads back to aid his kin, instantly regretting his rash actions. Frannie, be calm and be on the lookout for anything we can use to get us out of this mess. There's creatures about so we want to be as quiet as we can until the sounds of battle die down he stage-whispers to her.

Luckily for you since you had not replied, the saves had already been made and in the last main post here was the resultsredwarrior wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 8:33 pm Luckily for you since you had not replied, you had already made it through
Boff re-enters the area with the moving trees and managed to get Franny out of the area. When they exit the "moving trees" they are 30' directly north of Hex (off the map) (And they see Raffi 20ish feet to their west [remember they are facing south])

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
That is lucky!
Boff hands his reins to Fanny and slides to the ground, moving to the SouthEast, attempting to move silently and hide in shadows to get behind the creatures and set up a back attack targeting yellow 3. Assuming that much movement puts my attack off until next round..

Qleceec
Qleceec fights back to back with Androgost. Attacking whichever is within reach (#5?).
Long Sword +2 [1d20+3]=13+3=16 to hit [1d8+4]=6+4=10 damage
Long Sword +2 [1d20+3]=20+3=23 to hit [1d8+4]=1+4=5 damage
Specialist with 2 attacks a round.
Natural 20.
Critical Hit [1d100]=78
Triple damage, of course I rolled minimum damage. 7 damage I think.

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
In the Jotens - Multiple Fronts - So many front - what is next?
Late Afternoon Starday, 8th day of Planting, 597
3rd day since leaving Loftwick
Qleceec (AC 1, HP 38[+9=47]/63) SH:21
Androgost (AC -6, HP 59/65, Armor 23/26)
Nah Olos (AC 4, HP 43/53)
Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 37/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 35/50)
Hex (AC 5, HP 14/27)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21, Armor 8/8)
Boff (AC 5, HP 61/61)
Franny (AC 4, HP 26/26)
The winds continue to grow in strength moving a clockwise manner around Siouxsie. The winds have reached 15 MPH and the gas cloud is significantly weakened and moving screen left.
Moving generally from north to south this time. Franny is controlling Boff and her horse and is 30' off the map directly north of Hex. Boff is attempting to sneak through the woods attempting to get behind Yellow3. (And yes, getting off the horse, giving the reins and sneaking 40+ feet is a full move.
)
Similarly, Raffi is sneaking down the other side hoping to get a back-stab (butt stab) on the lion/dragon hybrid (Blue D).
Hex manages to cast a Color Spray spell. He has some difficulty adjusting to not being able to hear, but gets the spell off. The Color Spray knocks unconscious Blue 2 and Blue 3, but does not seem to affect the lion/dragon hybrid creature.
Siouxsie also has trouble, but manages to cast her Entangle spell. It has the chance to Entangle five creatures (4 Shtelke and Boff!) This will require another saving throw vs. Spells for Boff, this one will be at a +1 bonus. Yellow3 and Yellow6 are completely UNaffected, Yellow4 will get 1/2 move as the vines try and stop her and Yellow5 is trapped at this time.
For the record, I am assuming that Siouxsie is not mounted. I cannot find mention of it otherwise the horse would have bolted at the roar last round so I am going with that.
Garrant casts a Lightning Bolt to appear just in front of his riding horses head to attempt to kill the multi-headed dragon/lion hybrid. Garrant horse will not like that and bucks. Garrant will need to make a Riding Roll with a -4 penalty to either stay on the horse or gracefully be off it. If that fails or no riding prof. then a 5d6 DEX check to stay on the horse. The two headed creature takes the full damage of the lightning bolt. The LB burns a hole through the middle of the gas cloud.
Nah Olos takes a full two-handed swing but does not connect. Qleceec and Androgost are both a little more successful each landing two blows (including a Critical for Qleceec) and killing Red5 and Red4 respectively.
That takes it to Shtelke side of things.
The lion/dragon hybrid that let out the large roar, it tries to jump on and eat Hex. The creature attempts a claw/claw/bite attack hitting with a claw and the bite. Hex's armor, absorbs the first 8 points of damage, but then the illusion of his plate mail is dispelled. In addition, Hex takes 21-8 = 13 points of real damage. Hex is not a happy camper!
Yellow 3, Yellow 4 and Yellow 6 all exit the Entangle and try to eat Siouxsie (as in claw/claw/bite). Yellow 5 is trapped. Please note that Yellow 4 was at 1/2 move in the Entangle, but only had to move 5 feet to get out. The Shtelke (Yellow 3) hits with a bite and claw, but the other two (Yellow 4 and Yellow 6) come up empty. Siouxsie takes 7 points of damage.
Blue 6 sees Raffi sneaking and flies over to attack the halfling thief. Raffi being a fast little creature under that illusionary plate mail avoids all of the attacks, but he does have the problem of seeing it face-to-face.
Garrant is in a bad place, his horse is not doing well and Yellow1 and Yellow2 for some reason both attack the scared horse
And with some karma, the one Critically hits the horse doing 9 points of damage, but the other completely misses -(including a fumble with no effect) - The horse is still alive!
And the two-headed hybrid roars from both heads and tries to claw / claw / bite / bite Garrant for give it that LB. Some how the hybrid only gets one hit in and that blinks out the Garrant's last mirror image.
The remaining Shtelke in HTH with the three fighters, seem to have resolve and continue to try to attack the trio. Red1 attacking Qleceec lands a serious claw and bite attack for 8 points of damage. Androgost with his seeming invulnerable armor takes no damage. Nah Olos has a tough round taking a claw from Red7 and a claw and bite from Red8 for a total of 10 HP damage.
And then to top it off the reinforcements that Garrant warned were coming finally appear. There are 5 more Shtelke and one more of the hybrids (like the one that is attacking Hex). They are able to move onto the board (the pink forces), but cannot attack this round. One moves to help kill Garrant, two more on Qleceec, the hybrid move to eat Nah Olos and two more Shtelke swing around the Entangle to do some more damage.
Will the reinforcements ever stop?
That takes it to the adventures turn again.

Yikes
Hex will cast mirror image (paws crossed)
He will try and keep the spell as well.
Vs 15 for second level spell. Just made it.
(In fact. That can’t be right can it. It’s a fail. Not a -2 on the dice roll but the outcome. He loses the spell. That macro needs changing)
