Re: Tracks In The Desert
If anyone is ever wondering what approximate time of day it is, I post that information in the top header of every update I make in this game.
It is currently early in the evening with about 2 hours of daylight remaining.

Drest
I am not sure about spending the night on the sands with 2 unconscious part members. At least in the ruins we can put our back into a corner and force whatever to come at us from 1 direction only. Maybe area 2 with our backs against the doors and the pit in front of us?

"The slaves inhabited this area safely from snakes and whatever. We can make it habitable for a night too.", she says after inspecting (3). On a whim she lights a candle, for light and to perfume the place." using one of the incense perfumed candles carried in her satchel from whenever. She sticks it in front of the Cthulhic statue.
The tower with steps down. Maybe the rubble could be moved so we can sneak below that way.
My concern is that whoever attacked us, these clerics and cannibal slavers, they will launch a counter attack.
"Set up a camp here. Use the power of those floating stones too, if they provide any blessing."

Akhilleus
"That's the problem. It's possible that we can make it through the night. What this woman said about the snakes makes it difficult for us to imagine it will be easy. But it's sure that we can't go out into the dessert right now give how our companions are. We should try surviving this night and then tomorrow we can think about what we do.I suggest we stay in the room with the least openings and that gives us the possibility to run out of this place in the worst case.
I'm actually thinking about room 3/4 or even the entrace (2).

"Two different options then. My issue with the entryway (2) is that we would be exposed in two directions - although we would also have an exit and the pit at least is a barrier of sort. I think I prefer that to where we found the slaves (3/4) where we would be with our backs against the wall with no door and no means of escape. The only other alternative would be to press our luck to inspect one of the rooms to the east (of 10) that are blocked by a door. I do not l savor pressing on but a doorway could be barricaded."
Cyril wanders over and inspects the statue, looking for hints as to its provenance.

"We need to choose soon."
I am fine with 3/4 if everyone else wants to go that way. Not a fan of opening new doors right now.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
The Ruined Warlords Palace
Slave Toilet, Early Evening
With limited options available and 2 members still unconscious, the party debates where they should try hunkering down for the night. None of their suggestions so far sound ideal.
Cyril looks up the hallway with the unopened doors (10), remembering that is where all the combative slaves came from during their first battle. Nobody wants to open any more doors, but a room with an operable lock does sound a bit more enticing.
As time ticks by, Valkrina lights a scented candle, though it does little to help with either moral or the stench of the soiled sand and pots of human waste. Cyril inspects the crude statue, finding nothing interesting or informative about it in the least. In fact, it gives the usually stoic priest the creeps.
Actions?
Xenos AC:6 0/12 1st:2/2 Unconscious
Akhilleus AC:4 19/32 Poisoned (-4 on attack/dam rolls)
Drest AC:7 3/16
Cyril AC:8 4/5 1st:1/3
Snorri AC:4 -1/11 Unconscious
Valkrina AC:7 12/16 1st: 1/2

Drest
Drest will quietly look over the doors in hallway 10. Do they have locks, listen at each door (5:12), anything unusual.

Since there's still time to decide until the lights go out, the warrior mounts guard until a decision is reached.

Cyril follows Drest, offering what scant backup he can provide and thinking about the options before them.

Okay, while Akhilleus guards with the rescued slave and cares for the unconscious, I will join Drest and Cyril to scout those rooms in the northeast quarter of the ruin.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
The Ruined Warlords Palace
Looking For The Inn, Early Evening
Drest cautiously checks the three remaining doors along the long, dusty hallway. The southernmost pair that face each other are stout wooden portals bound in iron. Despite the obvious age, their locks and handles look intact, and there is no noise coming from beyond. Footprints in the dust and sand indicate tracks leading from inside the room towards the battle area.
The last (north) door is more plain and somewhat battered. It hasn't handled the decades of decay as well as the others, but it is still mostly intact. There is no lock, and no noise is heard after listening intently, but a strange stench of fungus and rotting vegetation coming from beyond it is unmistakable.
Fortunately, the priests you chased below earlier haven't returned with more reinforcements.........yet.
Actions?
Xenos AC:6 0/12 1st:2/2 Unconscious

Drest AC:7 3/16
Cyril AC:8 4/5 1st:1/3
Snorri AC:4 -1/11 Unconscious
Valkrina AC:7 12/16 1st: 1/2
This was genius! Thanks!

Only the circular courtyard area (5) is open to the sky. The rest of the ruins of the second floor remain intact as ceilings in the other areas, even though they aren't shown on the map.

Drest
Drest will try opening the southernmost southern door.
Whispering, "Lets avoid the northern door with the stench. At least for now."

Sure, let's do it. Perhaps with less health you might let me go in first.
Spear at the ready, she will open the door.

This is madness. Listen at the other doors and let's decide. The stays put.

Re: Tracks In The Desert
I'm assuming that by lending aid to Xenos, Drest (and/or others) have done things like bind wounds, bandaging etc. So I just wanted to mentioned that when you did so you would have noticed numerous scars from what you guess to be a whip on his lower back, and they look like they continue up his entire back (say if you take a look further up to confirm). Sorry for the interruption, just a little backstory thing I'm throwing in."

Cyril whispers, "I agree with Akhilleus here. Despite Azathoth telling me to embrace the madness. Either open the door or don't but our companions need to recuperate." He grasps his staff nervously.

Hence we are looking for somewhere better. Unless you want to camp in this corridor, we need to open a few doors."
She states rather obvious facts and after the door is listened at; unless we hear growlings, screams or smell more fungal rot, opens the door.
