Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Siouxsie
"Oh, right ho. Just a moment, I need to translate that." she says in draconic.
She turns to Androgost and says.
"He thinks you smell of fish and have come to present yourself as a tin of tuna, that the Steelhearts are just rotten and rusted Muppets and that your lance would just be a mere needle pin prick upon his arse should you dare to tear him a new one ... ... " figuring that appealing to his chivalrous nature and inferring the dragon-kin slight his knightly bearing might induce 'option 4'.
those who hear and know Siouxsie might just perceive some embellishment here designed to warn them that this encounter is destined to go downhill.

Letting out a protracted sigh, he pats his right should with his left hand. Then turning to dragon-man he unsheathes his blade and un-slings his shield, taking strides forward to bring him w/in 10 feet of the antagonist. Would you care to repeat that garbage!?!

Has nothing to say.... raises shield and continues to walk forward in an effort to push the leader back and assert dominance.
OCC:"Androgost will tie his mount off at the nearest tree and pointing..." for better or worse he did not leave the animal in direct care.

Decides to join in the 'fun'. Casting Warp Wood on the spears that the Shtelke hold.
"Look at your spears! No longer stiff and erect, they pale and droop as much as a gelded stallion's, just like your manhoods will.
I would surrender now or he will take your balls off as well as your heads." she calls out to the guards, mindful that those in the trees are still armed.

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
Raffi will move silently through the bushes as he can, slowly, to try and get around whatever is blocking the party’s forward momentum.
Hex will look for a sturdy bough or trunk to tie the reins of the two ponies to, and move there, slipping off his own mount and securing both in case of trouble.

Seeing the reactions of Nah and Qleceec, he moves 20' (to the right on the map) to get a clearer view of the road ahead.

Franny (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21)
Androgost tries to push his shield against the speaking Shtelke while Siouxsie casts a Warp Wood spell deforming the spears of the two Shtelke flanking the "leader" (numbers 2 & 3).
Qleceec fire two arrows that hit almost the same spot on the closest Shtelke in the tree (#4).
Nah move forward about 20 feet and then attempts to sneak down the the side of the road. Boff is not far behind.
Garrant and Franny move forward to be able to see down the road.
Hex ties of the two horses and Raffi is looking for cover down the other side of the road (but finding it harder to come by).
The three Shtelke at ground level roar a loud roar and then toss their spears to the ground and swarm around Androgost attacking with a claw, claw bite sequence. Androgost keeps the first two to his front with third moving the rear. The lead Shtelke, messes up getting over the log and falls to the ground with a thud. The other two attack Androgost and this magic armor protects him from the worst of the damage (Androgost's armor take 1 HP of damage). Androgost may have an extra swing if it is against #1
The closest Shtelke in the tree (#4) is wounded by the two arrows and throws his spear at Qleceec and spear misses Qleceec by a wide margin.
The other Shtelke in the tree (#5) roars and throws his spear at Siouxsie. The spear penetrates her defenses and does 4 hp of damage.
It is the parties chance to act.

Siouxsie
Takes a step back as the edge of the spear blades cuts across her.
She invokes another spell, casting Faerie Fire which can cause each of the Shtelke within a 40'ft radius to be illuminated with a silhouette of fiery orange, glowing in pulsating throbs to highlight their presence and provide a +2 to hit bonus for those attacking them.

Re: Chapter 1: Journey through the Jotens
OOC: it looks like Hex has a line of sight passed the boulder, but if he doesn’t he will creep to where Raffi is now this round so he does next.
If he does have line of sight to those fighting with Androgost and Suzie, he will cast Paralyzation on the three on the ground, hoping to catch them all but targeting the one closest to the Druid first.
Raffi will dart across to the bush closer to the tree of number 5, drawing two daggers as he goes.

Qleceec (AC 1, HP 63/63)
Androgost (AC -6, HP 65/65, Armor 25/26)

Siouxsie (AC 2, HP 44/48)
Garrant (AC 8, HP 50/50)
Boff (AC 5, HP 61/61)
Franny (AC 4, HP 26/26)
Hex (AC 0, HP 27/27)
Raffi (AC -1, HP 21/21)
Siouxsie casts Faerie Fire which initially seems it will cause each of the five Shtelke to be illuminated with a silhouette of fiery orange, but the glow starts and then stops on #1, he does not appear to be affected by the Druid glow. The other four are illuminated. Garrant moves 10' closer and casts a Prayer
Qleceec with the aid of the fiery glow and prayer sinks two more arrows in the Shtelke in the nearest tree (#4), and the Shtelke is looking much worse for the wear as blood is pulsing out of the four new holes in his body. In addition, Boff lands two arrows into #4 Shtelke who then falls into the branches of the tree. Androgost takes advantage of a Shtelke stumble and lands two heavy blows on the creature in front of him (#1), wounding but not killing the negotiator.
Nah reveals himself and fires his previously loaded (a cannot remember you stating it, but I am good with it as this is how a heavy crossbow should be used) heavy crossbow. With the bonus of surprise, faerie fire and prayer he has no trouble.
For Hex, I had previously given the description that you could not see down there, but clearly did not draw enough shrubbery in the way so I will allow it! The illusionist casts Paralyzation which does not in the end paralyze any of the Shtelke targets.
Given the number of hit dice that Hex can affect (16), there is enough for potentially all the creatures to be affected in the area effect. This does mean that Androgost will require a saving throw vs. Paralyzation as well.
Paralyzation saving throws- [_3d20]=(20+17+3)=40
MR: [_1d100]=(1)=1.
Franny's Hold Person does not seem to affect the Shtelke.
Raffi moves closer as noted.
I will pause pending on Androgost's saving throw other wise he could be in a very bad spot.
