Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Posted my action in the private message thread.
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
You all have private threads now. We'll use them when your PC knows something or does something that the other PCs don't know about. For example, if your PC is separated from the others, or for the results of ability rolls. So far in this game, the PCs have become separated fairly often. It might happen a lot, because BH isn't a dungeon crawl kind of game.

I can’t say anymore, but everyone was there when Paladin said

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Are the private threads meant to be strictly private or as in the case presently, I have viewable access to each others even if I don't post in them?
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
I do as well. That is fine with me if it is what you intended but if not I believe an admin has to create a private thread.
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Everyone has access to the not-very-private threads. I figured we can all trust each other not to go meta and access each other's threads. We'd just be revealing game spoilers to ourselves. But if anyone would prefer, just let me know and I'll ask an admin to help.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Can you guys see a new section here called "Forum"? An admin (DMV71) kindly moved your private folders into separate forums there. If you can't see them, I'll PM you the URLs.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Excellent! We have reports that the private threads great admin DMW71 set up for us are working.
Reminder to bookmark and/or save the URLs for your threads. They've been moved from the Law of the Gun game forum, so perhaps old setups won't connect(?) Anyway, it can't hurt to be sure.
We're ready to roll. I can kind of see us using these private threads quite a bit. Boot Hill's setting isn't a dungeon crawl environment, where characters tend to move along together as a group. There's a lot of open space in the Old West, and firearm ranges are long. It seems that good player decisions would tend to separate them. So they'd see and hear different things, depending where they are at the time. We'll mostly post the same GM message to clusters of PCs in similar positions at the same time. It doesn't mean your PC got a secret message. It means PCs around him in almost all cases got the same exact one. In the same exact words.
The default is the IC thread. We hope it doesn't come to such too often. This one is a situation of PCs inside a house and outside a house...

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Is anyone else hearing Glen Fry and The Smuggler's Blues in their head right now?
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
I wasn't but am now, LOL.
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Sorry for the delay for the GM post. A character in the house has an action coming up that requires some thought about how to fit it into the game mechanics. Nailing it down now would be good, I think, because it could easily come up again later.

For ooc observation, Sebastian is fast drawing and hip shooting the rustler with the shotgun. Hopefully ....

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
No one answered. How many rustlers outside were there? The last Jemmus post implied four. Is that what was seen?Paladin wrote:"What did you see out there?" he asks his fellow cowboys.
Jemmus wrote:"I'll give ya four more good horses, one fer each man of us."
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Sorry to have moved things ahead so fast and not given people a chance to act and react. You guys are keener and quicker posters than I'm used-- which isn't a bad thing at all!
Mike (inside the house) is bound and gagged. He can't reply, so the man calling out in the dark doesn't know how many in the house are alive. If any at all. Revising the post about the number of horses offered as a deal from "four" to "two."
Sorry it got so messy, but we'll catch up.

Still resolving a thing in the private threads. (Need a dice roll). We're doing great, considering that this is the first time some of us have done any combat in this crunchy system. Thanks for the quick posting, everyone.

If you haven't seen "Have Gone, Will Travel" yet, I'd have to recommend it. Wonderful writing, jaw-scratching stories... many by Gene Roddenberry himself....
