Hello there

#1 Post by WaitingCynicism »

Hi there!

I'm Jacob. I started playing with 5th edition in high school (though now I'm not as much a fan, especially given the drama that's been going on with it). I'd say my current favorite systems are a toss-up between Ironsworn, Pendragon, and One Ring (especially with strider mode).

Welcome Jacob!! Happy to have you aboard.
As you see, your first two posts are moderated, but after that everything is good to go.
Be well and be welcome!
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Not sure if there is an opening but it never hurts to ask whoever is running the game. You could PM Tamerlaine as it is his game or post here:

Welcome! If you're up for some mind bending fun, ask tibbius about some of his game systems. ;)

Welcome, Jacob! Never played The One Ring or Ironsworn, but I love Pendragon!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Pendragon has quickly become one of my favorite systems after discovering it several years ago. :)

I just added 'King Arthur Pendragon: Edition 5.2' to that list after hearing good things about it.

Ever since the whole OGL fiasco started a few weeks ago, I've been determined to actually read/learn the non-D&D games I own that I've never used -- Pendragon now makes 55.

I have an earlier addition of Pendragon but have never played it. It looks interesting.

The nice thing, other than 1st edition Pendragon, the others are all pretty similar. I've used my 3e book to play the 5.2 version of Great Pendragon campaign, and most things were close enough. 6e will come out this year and make some substantial changes, and I'm looking forward to it!
