Maxon is currently engaged in combat.

Would he like to attempt another attack, or just chat?

Lighting a torch takes 1-3 rounds, so somewhere in between ten and thirty seconds, which sounds about right.

Oozy

As Ceana retrieves a torch to light, Taibhse pulls the prone cleric further away from the grey ooze currently attacking Tuurma.

The dark, helpful stranger unravels his sling before proceeding to plunk a stone into the grey mass, leaving behind another minor wound that seeps a stinking, puss-like liquid. It becomes clear that the monster can indeed be injured.

Tuurma figures her sword is all but useless now, and her shield is dissolving right in front of her eyes, yet somehow she is able to retain her composure during this life threatening situation. She backs up another step as the ooze presses closer, throwing the remainder of the sword into the mass to little avail. With her armor starting to fail as well, she finds herself in uncharted waters fighting this bizarre creature. She grabs another hunk of rubble from the floor as the monster strikes out again, barely missing her once again despite her dilapidated defenses.

The stranger in the room warns the others of the impending doom their friends are dealing with outside, suddenly mentioning that they might be pinned down in this place. Maxon hacks away again, when the wounded zombie on him is quickly finished off by a well placed arrow shot from Cormag's bow. Another zombie pops out from the crypt beyond the door, leaving the combatants a view of several more trying to exit behind it.

The new mage on the scene is a little shocked by what his owl sees at the other end of the hallway, about to exit the door on that end.

is Kain "safe" given the ooze's movement speed (Tuurma's best guess)?

Belloc
the sling is still swinging in the air when he stops and stares for a second to the blanc east wall, his expression turns to determined desperation  and starts to move faster,

THERES MORE COMING DOWN THE EAST CORRIDOR!!!!

he warns the rest of his companions as Crestos flies back chirping an alarm
then wrapping the sling on his forearm he starts to move his arms in a circular manner drawing a circle in the air that encompasses the ooze and making it smaller and smaller until he mimics compressing a ball between his hands while intently staring at the ooze

Casts reverse enlarge on the ooze
Enlargement (reversible)
Lvl: mag 1, wch 1 | Rng: 5 feet per CA level | Dur: 1 turn

Induces unnatural growth in a single object or creature, augmenting ×1.5 the size and mass of organic matter, or augmenting ×2 the size and mass of inorganic matter. Enlarged creatures gain a +50% damage bonus to all attacks (attack damage totalled and then multiplied ×1.5). For objects, the area of effect is limited to 10 cubic feet per CA level; e.g., a CA 10 caster can double the size of an earthen mound not exceeding 100 cubic feet in initial volume. This spell will not increase the magical nature of any object: A portcullis can be swollen shut, a dagger can be doubled to a short sword, but an enlarged potion of healing does not become the equivalent of two potions. The reverse of this spell, reduction, halves the size and mass of a creature or object (no more than 10 cubic feet per CA level). Affected creatures suffer a −50% damage penalty on all attacks (attack damage totalled and then halved). Unwilling creatures are allowed transformation saving throws to resist enlargement or reduction.

Once she hears the cry from the corridor, Tuurma circumvents the now smaller ooze (leaping over ooze or Kain, if necessary) to exit the room into the corridor. She's a sweaty and dirty mess now with only fragments of her armor hanging in loose leather strips. She looks down at her broken weapon (now not more than a shortsword or dagger?) and yells:

"Someone give me a fucking weapon! The larger the better! Anyone has a shield?!"

Taibhse

Smiling, he will silently offer Tuurma, one of his hand axes. If she takes it he will pick up his bow and move out to fire at the incoming creatures. If not he'll return it to his belt then head out with his bow.

Cormac shouts to Tuurma Grab my shield and my axe!

He's going to be out of arrows pretty soon, and he don't like anyone here enough to give up his sword yet!

Don't know how much Tuurma can perform during one "beat" but if she gets out of the room she'll happily accept one of the hand axes and the shield and then put herself between the closest approaching zombie and her companions.

The (large) shield puts her on AC 5 if her armor is entirely gone.

She might even get angry

Okay, things are getting a little out of order here, but I will try to make "game sense" of it. Try to remember that a round is 10 seconds in this system so you can only do so much at once. Thanks!

Second Thoughts

Ceana finally gets her torch lit just as the danger escalates.

While the dark stranger chants and moves his arms around, Tuurma jams her disintegrating shield into the gooey monster (Shield Bash) as it lunges towards her simultaneously. She causes the thing another wound, but is hit in the chest and face by a sticky grey pseudopod for her efforts. 7 dam The acidic ooze starts to melt her skin, ruining her armor completely, and causing her to become very, very angry. But then something unexpected happens. The strangers casting suddenly shrinks the grey mass to half its original size, fortunately causing the threat to peel away from the formerly enveloped Tuurma completely where it lands back onto the stone floor with a sloppy splat. Though it wont continue to burn her, the pain from the acid makes the groups berserker lose control, her eyes rolling around in her head as she succumbs to her temporary rage. She screams for someone to give her a weapon as her armor slowly sloughs off her body entirely. Happy to see that he saved a second member of this eclectic group from certain death, the newly arrived mage knows the ooze remains quite dangerous, even in its diminished size.

Taibhse drops Kain near the door, tosses Tuurma an ax from his belt, and takes his bow out into the hallway. He sees his friends battling zombies at the entrance to the hall, while another line of the creatures begins heading his way from the dark end of the hallway as well.

Cormag and Maxon are able to drop a second undead monster in the doorway, just as a third wraps its filthy claws around Maxon's throat, strangling the man and moving its head in closer for a bite attack. 4 dam Cormag can tell his friend will succumb to his injuries if he is hit again.
