What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
It doesn't look like it got very far but it does look like an interesting game idea.

Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
I will have to dig for the reference document for this game. I also did a set up for being actual dragons on the verge of extinction, but I think the dragon rider concept (Council of Wyrms lookalike) sounds more appealing.
I'll poke around and figure out the best way to move forward.

Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
Okay, I had a look over my original recruit thread. I don't think I would change much of anything except a few of the tweaks we decided on with Marullus at the end of that thread. I probably would eliminate much of the session-0 stuff so that we could jump into it sooner. The basic conceit has enough to go with, plus whatever personal attachments are necessary through your characters and codified through your personal Aspects ("Illegitimate Child of the Frail King", etc).
I'm a little stymied on whether or not a new thread is necessary.

Might want to use the current thread, and see if anyone else is interested. That will take a bit of time, and since the forum issues are still being fixed, it would let us get started.
I don't know if you've ever used Trello before, but the "How to play" video I linked to showed it off well. All of the PC data was in one place.

I probably will use the same after getting the opening post a bit more organized. I wasn't sure if there was a no necro rule.
I haven't used Trello, but Fari is designed specifically for Fate. It even has fate point management. Granted I've never used it before, but it looks slick.
Give me a day or two to look things over with old posts and then kick-start the recruitment thread again.

Did anyone else get The One Ring rpg? I backed it and it’s gorgeous. I’d love to run a session.
Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
I don't have The One Ring, but am always interested in a game based on MiddleEarth.
Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
Absolutely love The One Ring,1st and Second Edition so I would be so down to play!

Wow, that’s some interest there in the One Ring rpg. With half of you not having the rules and with me worried about WFRP and The One Ring each with their separate rule systems, let me propose an alternative; OSE in a sandbox setting that grows with lore and world building that involves the characters in the growing threat of an ancient villain hell bent on conquering the land. Exp is not gleaned through treasure or murder but reaching milestones throughout the campaign. The setting will have a very Middle Earth vibe as well. Tell me what you think.
Re: What would YOU like to play or run? (Interest Catch-all)
I'd be interested in either an OSE or a The One Ring game-- if you end up having room for another player.

I'm double-posting here, but on a different topic. So I'm considering running a Conan/Hyborian Age game, using some of the great content Modiphius has for its Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of RPG. But the rules system seems very fun, but it might be a little cumbersome for PBP. So I'm considering using Modiphius's material with another, less complicated game system. Since the Conan world is all about combat (great gouts of black blood, etc.), I'd like an RPG with a combat system that offers players some tactical options. I considered Worlds Without Number, which does have some pretty detailed combat rules. But the various combat options include so many unique exceptions that I'm afraid that players (and GM) would forget what applies when.
Any thoughts on a RPG with interesting, fun, lethal (but not excessively crunchy) combat rules for a Hyborian Age game? Rules that assign damage to specific parts of the body would be a plus. (I need to be able work in Robert E. Howard's "the guard's head leaped from his shoulders" at least once).
But any system with interesting, not too complicated combat would work.

Maybe simpler than you are looking for, but Barbarians of Lemuria is primed for Conanesque action.

Depending on the system I may be interested. HarnMaster has an excellent combat system but it is very crunchy. You can look at my HarnMaster game if interested in an example.jemmus wrote: ↑Thu Dec 29, 2022 12:46 am I'm double-posting here, but on a different topic. I'm interested either way, but I would be willing to buy the books if you would rather run The One Ring.Tamerlaine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:55 pm Wow, that’s some interest there in the One Ring rpg. As someone who owns both rulebooks I'd be up for either!Tamerlaine wrote: ↑Wed Dec 28, 2022 11:55 pm Wow, that’s some interest there in the One Ring rpg. I would love to give TOR a try if more players are needed.
I have heard good things, but I don't own any of the material..........yet?
