CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Re: CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Denslow also holds the defensive line with Podo while the lighter party members ascend the shaft.
Re: CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Kurot waits his turn, but he tries to get up the rope and hopefully out of the way before Podo goes looking for trouble.
"Enough creatures and machines around here want to kill us," he mutters. "Why go looking for more?"

Re: CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 261D/81 (Late Afternoon)
Silvestri summons his magnetic manipulation powers and lifts Saiph up the shaft past the first passage to a point just below the next highest passage. There, the diminutive mutant activates the ancient device which magically passes into the wall and anchors secure. He ties the silk rope and drops it to the floor below. He looks and listens into the 5ft-wide dark passage for any signs of occupation. Nothing is present.
Max tugs at the rope and ascends, hoping Saiph will move off once he gets to the second level.
Podo, waiting for a report from the rope climbers, tests the aggression of the flies to observes their actions and behavior. He thrusts his hand forward to discharge a fungal pellet at the fly to the right. The dense cellular projectile misses the mark and ricochets against the stone wall (Miss), failing to garner a response from the insects.
Denslow watches for a reaction to Podo’s attack and Kurot tries to understand the logic of seeking a conflict. He moves to the others and stands ready to ascend the rope when Saiph and Max depart into the corridor.

Podo
Thinking we might be a little close Podo says to Denslow, "Let's move back a little distance and try again."
Not sure the range for pellets but I want to move back past the circular hump in the hallway about 5' in front of Anton and will wait until Denslow joins to fire a second fungal pellet. If the pellet doesn't have that range I'll switch to the sling.
Pellet attack: [1d20+1]=4+1=5 damage: [1d4]=4

Urlando
The rat-man was lost in thought for a moment contemplating the possible use and meaning of the waxy pellet that he retrieved from the ceiling. Suddenly snapping out of it, he hopes to follow Max and Saiph up the rope. He tests the rope first before climbing, making sure it can hold his weight in humanoid form. If it seems to hold, he'll climb.
Hearing Podo's pellet ricochet in the tunnel, he anxiously awaits his turn at the rope, not eager to confront the flies.
He'll avoid changing to rat form for the climb unless it seems like the only way up.

Re: CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Anton stares upward. "I really don't like heights anymore to be honest" I'll keep watch down here.
Re: CHAPTER 12d: Across Motter's Realm
Saiph enters a 5ft-wide corridor that ends after fifteen feet into a larger, 10ft-wide corridor. This second corridor runs 30ft in the direction of the outer wall and ends at a metal door with a spoked wheel in its center.
Both passages are dark and need to be artificially illuminated. They are plain and nondescript, save the door at the end of the larger hallway.
Max follows Saiph and Urlando ascends once Max departs from the rope. The vertical tube continues up and past this second level.

Saiph waits for the others at the point the tunnel widens.
"It looks clear up here" he calls down.

Urlando
Urlando will advance to join Saiph. Making sure the passage is clear, he follows the second passage to the door with the spiked wheel, while the others are climbing the rope. He will test the wheel to see if it turns, without turning it all the way to open the door.

Urlando calls back to the others.
Should we open this door? He pauses and then asks, And why would it open with a wheel rather than a handle?

Anton asks his companions "Are there any markings on it? Can you hear anything on the other side?"
Podo tugs at the rope, curious if it will hold his weight.

Heeding Silvestri's advice, the rat-man pauses by the door to wait for the others to ascend, before taking further action.
