How about

A way of dealing with exploding dice?

For instance, in 7th sea, it's a roll-and-keep system, but if a dice rolls a 10, then you reroll the dice, adding the value to the original 10. You continue to reroll until the dice does not come up 10. Thus, 1 in 1000 times, you can have a total above 30 for an single d10 rolled.

eg: I roll 5d10k3, and the results are:
10, 4, 7, 10 and 1
I reroll the 10s, getting:
10 and 2
I reroll that 10, getting
5
Thus my final totals are:
25, 4, 7, 12, and 1
Hence my 3 kept dice are
25, 7 and 12
and my total is 44.

Is this something that could be built in? Or is it too complex? I suspect the latter, as I've never seen provision for it in any online dice roller...

Thanks for the suggestion. This has come up one other time as well. As most of you have probably guessed, I wrote this dice roller with D&D in mind (pre-3rd edition), and as far as I know, exploding dice aren't used in any of those systems.

This does seem a little complicated, but I may be able to work something out, but I make no guarantees. :( Thanks for the example as well... it helps me understand. I'll have some time off between the holidays and I'll see what I can do.
