Determined that something lay beyond the hexagonal pattern in the wall, Podo calls out to the others, his voice echoing eerily inside the otherwise silent chamber. "I think I've found a way inside the body of the tower itself!" Then more to himself than anyone else, he mumbles,"If only I could get these little cells to break." and begins working the cells with his hammer and spike to see if chipping at it makes more progress.

Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 261D/81 (Afternoon)
This details the large circular chamber with central spire/tower:
Green = Central black tower
Orange = Grooves in central tower
Blue = Cylinders
Yellow = Pipes
Red = Wall of structure and where pipes enter the wall
Magenta = Golden Spires
Golden spires not shown in the profile view for clarity
First row of cylinders is 30ft above the floor
Each row is spaced 10ft above the first row
Ceiling is 200ft high
Pipes are 65ft in diameter


Podo is joined by Max and Anton. He is making progress chipping into the wall with his hammer and spike. Anton offers up his plasma torch and the fungal giant accepts, activating the tool and applying the bright blue fire to the hexagonal sections.
Plasma Torch usage die = [1d4]=4
At first nothing happens but after a few minutes, the hexagonal logs melt into a runny drip and solidify onto the floor below. A hole opens into a dark void two feet beyond the curved wall of the room.

The rat-man returns to where Podo wields the torch, to observe what he finds inside the walls, while the others walk around the central tower. He wonders if the opening in the wall might enable him to climb to the upper levels in rat form.

Denslow ties the two ropes (his own and Max's) together making a nearly 100' length. He then ties one end around an iron spike for weight. He then tosses that over one of the pipes, holding the other end of the rope. We can use this to get up more quickly. Someone lighter than me can stand on the spike, or we can make a loop for that person's root, and we can pull this side of the rope to make a makeshift lift up to an tighter part of the tower. From there we can reassess, depending on what's found.

It’s 95 feet to the bottom of the pipes.
The pipes are 65 feet in diameter.
It’s 160 feet to the top of the pipes.
Using the plasma torch, Podo illuminates the void beyond. Max lights a torch and tosses it through the hole and into a 20ft circular room with a 10ft high ceiling. Three circular platforms, 2ft high, are in the middle of this chamber along with other odd machinery. Two exits or alcoves are in the east and west walls.

Denslow looks at his rope and the pipes above. It might be too high, actually, he determines. Even if we got enough rope, that's quite a toss.

Podo jumps back in surprise as Max disappears into the hole. Quickly he looks down the hallway shouting, "Everyone! I've found a way inside the interior of the tower, this way!" Hopefully they are near enough to hear or perhaps the echo will reach them in this tower of silence. He quickly adjusts his equipment and pushes his way into the hole behind Max to examine the pedestals.

Anton ponders the configuration of the facility. His gloved hand scratches at helmet in an eerie imitation of a living human scratching their chin.
"If we could restore power we might be able to use those rooms with the consoles to give us full control of this structure, maybe even make it self destruct. But if it's connected to the others like it that may also draw Motter's attention. We must try to find out more about what these places are if we're ever going to have a chance against her."

The 20ft diameter chamber has smooth, tan, featureless, artificial stone walls and floor. The 10ft ceiling is flat, save for a groove running into a narrow 2ft-wide alcove holding a ribbed, black metal stalactite. (B)
Three green metal platforms, 2ft high by 4ft in diameter, span across the floor. (A) They are identical except for the northern-most having rectangular blocks attached to the side.
A second 3ft-wide corridor leads to a 10ft diameter chamber with a glass-like, shiny, metallic silver floor. (C)

Podo goes to the northernmost platform with the blocks on the side. He waves a fungal finger over the top of platform, then his hand, then reaches down and touches a finger to the center, testing in increments for any reaction.
If nothing happens, he will examine the blocks on the side to see what they are made of or try to discern their purpose. Are they removable?
