Did we stumble into a Tolkien world? Don't tell me Fili has a brother ghost named Kili? ;)

As an aside: the dwarves of Harn literally came from Middle Earth thorugh a portal, according to Harn creator N Robin Crossby :)

I am horrible at picking names, so don't be surprised when I steal names from other sources, LOL. And sastaz is correct, the elves and dwarves of Harn orginated in Middle-Earth and came through portals to Harn. For that matter the Humans of Keithra originated on Terra (our Earth) and came through portals and eventually migrated to Harn. The original inhabitants are refereed to as the Earth Masters.

I am a fan of his dwarves as well. Not so much of his elves, LOL.

A couple of invocation questions:

Does Passage of the Soul need to be cast soon after death? Would it allow the ghost to move on after all this time?

Would Tongues help with the old dialect the dwarf is speaking? Or is it not really that much of an issue?

Passage of the Soul would only work for a follower of the same deity and if he was short enough piety to be in Divine Grace (divine grave piety is = or greater than his Ritual score). He is almost guaranteed to be a follower of Siem, piety unknown. I have never considered it before but I suppose you could cast it with Algrim and he could give 1d6 piety to him since it says cleric and/or attendees. That may or may not be enough piety if that is even the issue.

Tongues would help for sure, but I have been intentionally not really doing making it all that difficult. Language is my weak suit honestly. He is speaking Harnic, just a version that is 1400 years older. Algrim could try Khuzdul now as well. Khuzdul live about 5 times longer than humans so I would imagine their language has gone through 1/5th the change.

I was mainly wondering about the language because of Arngeir's lowish skill rating in it, but I'm happy for it not to be an issue.

Thanks for the clarification on the passage invocation, I was thinking the diety might be an issue.

Looks like we might be a searching for a dwarf corpse.

Yeah that is what I was getting at. There are some clues to help someone with Psychometry find it planted about.

Turnip was planning to use the stone itself (or contents if Fili allows) to find his current location.

It specifically states "Another use is to determine a persons location."

I don't get it :) The ability does not how I described it? I read that section before I planned it but maybe I misunderstood? Or do you mean that bit about the distant past? I was thinking the current whereabouts of his body.

I'd forgotten the bit about locating that person, so it's my bad entirely.

It is just an unfamiliarity with the rules, not a big deal. But with 2 of you having it, hopefully it should be workable to find his body.

So is "what is the location of the body of Fili" a visible question? From the wording of the power I thought gaining the location was a specific use.

Yes I think that would be the question to trigger that use. You each get 3 questions. Your 3 will have some bonus info associated with it. We can play it out one question at a time so you can consider your next question if you want.

Granted this long after his demise I would imagine it is merely a skeleton or dust in the wind.
