Yes, same thing. There are multiple ways to spend them but you need to keep them above your Ritual ML to cast your Invocations.

You can spend 10 of your 16 SMP and try and increase any 1 skill except your combat over 80. You then roll 1d100+SB for the skill and if it is higher than the skills current ML (score) it will go up 1. Just like if you get a critical when using it.

Pulpatoon I will detail out what herbs you know tonight so you can make better use of your Herblore skill moving forward. You know all local cooking herbs, but many Harnic herbs have special properties, these are the ones I will detail for you. You get your SB points worth to start, 12 in your case. Common cost 1 point, uncommon 2 and rare 3. Since finding uncommon and rare is harder (x0.75 and x0.5 your ML of 48) I will concentrate on common, but you may get some uncommon and rare. You learn new herbs through play, mostly trading for the info with other herb gatherers and apothecrists.

Rex do you use Crossby's original Herblore article from HQ (I think...) or the newer one? Just curious which one you like best :)

I have both, but prefer the newer. I used the original for years and have no real issues with it, I just find the newer one cleaner and easier to use. I sometimes incorporate some of the older material as well.

Idril's Herblore

I will post basics here and more info if needed or on request.

Alanal, Water Bearer, Common, Heath, Year Round, 6d per root
---Succulent that holds up to a pint of water
---The root is a hallucinatory, used in several different preparations
---Proscribed in Melderyn and Chybisa (current location)
---Known to and used by the churches of Ilvir, Naveah, and Sarajin
---Ilvirians prepare it into the Nectar of Wisdom and frequently sell it to Haleans (requires Alchemy)

Arva, Bishop's hat, Uncommon, Heath and Woods, Late Summer, 12d per plant
---Chewing one full seed pod provides a short burst of energy (+1d3 Str for one hour, F3 after)
---Hru's Might (energizing potion popular among gladiators and soldiers in western Harn) and Maermal's Blessing (strength potion popular in eastern Harn) (both requires Alchemy)

Berilik, Dragonshead, Common, Forest, Late Summer, 8d per plant
---Cuts from the sharp leaves can numb the area cut for an hour
---Can be used to make an anesthetic (requires Alchemy)

Danistor, Nolah's Ear, Uncommon, Fungus, Deep forest, Early Autumn, 1d per pound
---Located in deep forests of Peran, Equeth, Nuthela, and Shava (the Elven forest)
---Edible and very nutritious
---Used as a food and seasoning
---Often used in stews but salted and grilled they taste like a tender beef steak
---One pound is a hearty meal for an active man (or elf)
---They dry well and once dried keep for very long periods of time

Habsulara, Uhla's Lantern, Common, Pasture, Spring, 4d per plant
---A tea made from the flowers can be used as an energy boost
---It can be used to make the stimulant Uhla Oil (requires Alchemy)

Kargele, Red Maiden, Rare, Woods, Mid-Autumn, 18d per plant
---Often grows with poison ivy
---Tea brewed from a shredded leaf is a home remedy for toothaches
---Several cups of tea will put the drinker to sleep for 24-48 hours
---Used to make Tirrala's Pillow, the celebrated healing balm of Peoni (requires Alchemy)
---In great demand by the Church of Peoni, less so by guilded apothecaries

Kithyl, Eder's Knife, Common, Seashore, Year Round, 3d per plant
---A tall grass with tough sharp leaves 3-5 feet high
---Leaves can be used to make mats and baskets
---The roots are edible and can be eaten after soaking or dried and made into flour for breads or to thicken soups and stews
---A paste made from the boiled roots is effective at stopping bleeding and preventing infection and is an effective poultice to draw out pus from infected wounds
---The root can be soaked and pounded out into fibers which can be woven into bandages, if boiled right before use they are excellent for closing and preventing deep wounds

Olrui, Purple Sapper, Common, Woods/Forest, Late Summer, 4d per plant
---Chewing on 1 or 2 leaves is a stimulant and energy boost (+10-20% to Endurance for 2-3 hours), repeated use can cause side effects

Would it be helpful to start a thread for each character? We could move info relevant to each character to the thread.

That's not a bad idea. Either that or add it to each characters post in the character sheets thread.

Here are the descriptions of your Rituals Pulpatoon. I thought I posted this but couldn't find it. I can explain any questions you have. A pretty useful mix actually but no invisibility.
