Behind the screen DM rolls

I thought I would put the more involved behind the screen rolls here.

Keep in mind this is optional, you could easily just figure the range of values and pick a bunch of results in the range or roll for straight value in the range. I am going through it primarily as a demonstration. It is also much better suited to only 1 or 2 gems.

I will start with generating the value of the 9 uncut amber gemstones. Treasure 6 and 7 describe the process and has the numbers and descriptions for 20 different stones as well as common lore about them.

I choose Amber as it is common and not worth to much.

First we generate cut size. For Amber this is 3d6 carats.
Amber size [3d6]=11 [3d6]=6 [3d6]=13 [3d6]=5 [3d6]=15
Amber size [3d6]=8 [3d6]=11 [3d6]=14 [3d6]=12

Next is value. Cut size squared x2d (value of Amber) /5 for being uncut
11 squared = 121x2/5=48.4 = 48d
6 squared = 36x2/5=14.4 = 14d
13 squared =169x2/5=67.6 = 68d
5 squared = 25x2/5=10 = 10d
15 squared = 225x2/5=90 = 90d
8 squared = 64x2/5=25.6 = 26d
11 squared = 121x2/5=48.4 = 48d
14 squared = 196x2/5=78.4 = 78d
12 squared = 144x2/5=57.6 = 58d

Total value of 440d, depending on negotiations/fees etc

Next, uncut stones are obviously larger then there cut size so we multiply by 2-3, I will use 1d3 with 1=2, 2=2.5 and 3=3

Uncut size [1d3]=1 [1d3]=3 [1d3]=2 [1d3]=1

Uncut size.
11x2 = 22ct
6x2 = 12ct
13x2 = 26ct
5x3 = 15ct
15x2.5 = 37.5 = 38ct
8x2 = 16ct
11x3 = 33ct
14x2.5 = 35ct
12x2 = 24ct

You need Jewelcraft to determine value but Algrim could determine sizes. So if/when he does check them I will present the results as:

9 uncut Amber gemstones: 12, 15, 16, 22, 24, 26, 33, 35, and 38 carats
