Re: Into the Mines
Raz beams at the compliment from Jarth "I would be honored Jarth." the gnome replies to the offer before continuing further with the group.
The gnome seeing the darkness ahead "Rats I should have prayed for a light spell. I don't suppose anyone has a lantern or torch?"

Kol
Kol is ever alert for any signs of danger and fells somewhat claustrophobic inside a mine, being so accustomed to being outside.
Any strange sound makes her jump a little.

Follows the others, keeping in the shadows where possible and frequently glancing to the rear surreptitiously. She was never one to lead and best to keep an eye on what is behind us in case of an ambush.

Raz "No, no I was merely mentioning how I wish I had prayed for the spell as I don't carry much and certainly not lanterns or torches. I usually cast light on something and use it as a light source."

Re: Into the Mines
Following the track, with Cu in the lead, the group heads down to the turn and begins walking east. A few feet down there is a small chamber off to the left. From the light of the lanterns, there are four mining carts visible. The track proceeds farther on where it appears to turn again...

Raz lightly slaps his forehead with the palm of a hand "We should have asked Jarth if someone could show us, where his miners saw these ghosts or specters." he speaks softly so as not to be too loud.

Re: Into the Mines
Raz volunteers "I will I don't mind." he says still in a low tone. If nobody objects he will turn back to locate Jarth and ask if someone can show them where the sightings were.

While they wait, Vesper takes a moment to peer into the carts. She wants to make sure no one hides within them or behind them.

Starkad simply nods and stays alert.
Sorry it took me longer to post this time. Have been very busy. I've spent the last month visiting friends and family back in Spain. Half the time on vacation and the last two weeks working from home. These last days I've tried to spend with my people as much as possible. Now going back to Germany by train through France.

Re: Into the Mines
It's not too far back and Jarth is still outside, rounding up his men and salvaging what he can from the destruction left by the giants. When Raz appears, Jarth's face drops. He hurries toward the Gnome. "What happened? Don't tell me ye've already ran into trouble?"GreyWolfVT wrote: ↑Thu Jun 16, 2022 5:34 pm Raz volunteers "I will I don't mind." he says still in a low tone. If nobody objects he will turn back to locate Jarth and ask if someone can show them where the sightings were.
Raz calms Jarth's fears, saying they wanted to know where his miners saw the ghosts or specters. Jarth nods and says, "Follow the tracks past the cart chamber for several yards, deeper in. The track will fork to the right, but ye keep going straight. But when the track forks again to the right, ye take it and follow it to the end. In those tunnels beyond is where me men said they saw the watchers. Be careful now."
The carts are empty except for dirt and rock debris. However, Vesper notices the rear wheels on two of the carts have been damaged...likely with some type of pick or maul. They will have to be repaired before they can run the tracks.
While waiting for Raz to return, the rest of the group keep their eyes peeled and ears open for any sights or sounds. A few minutes pass before the pinging sound of something striking metal echoes toward them from somewhere deeper within the mine. It is a rhythmic tapping about 3-4 seconds apart...tink...tink...tink...tink...
Winter is coming...
