Adventure Log 001: Welcome to Port Verdigris/Mutiny on the Serena Dawn

"That's a good idea Skur Vonn. Perhaps between all of us we might be able to gain access to the ships systems. A low priority one might have less protection, but still provide us with useful information."

Are you asking if Jeeves can track Mrak-a-Grillo's goons? Or the security guards?cybersavant wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 8:40 am Skur Vonn Looking around at the others on the floor, "Good thing we didn't try to take on he goons. Chip
Chip spasms and his rocks momentarily collapse with a thunk as the charge from the stun baton courses through the metallic compounds in its body. Fortunately, the bulk of the charge passed through a few outer boulders without disrupting the organic network that makes up his mind. The extremity where he was hit feels tingly, but as he hefts himself back up and gingerly tests his movement he seems none too the worse for wear. He lets out a low grinding sound that raises to a high pitched whistle while he comes back to himself.
"Argh that was not what I meant to happen. I'm sorry about the mess, Kallina and Bertie. It was sort of an instinctive reaction. I too think we should move, but how do we get out of here without using the door. I don't know how long I was out, but I imagine they're still there
Chip moves over to the door to listen and try to get a read on creatures in the immediate area

"It's OK, chip, we all had some bad luck." she blushes "... Oh, not by the door? I wonder if there are air vents or maintenance passageways we could use!" she starts to look around the cabin for another way out

:: Current Time: 06:37:06, Serena Dawn Ship Time, March 25 ::
:: Location : Passenger cabin 01478, steerage class : UP Starliner The Serena Dawn ::
Bertie: "Jeeves, on your visits to the crew did you learn where the cells or Biljana quarters are?"
Jeeves: “I am familiar with the security barracks, having been invited there on both matters of duty and leisure. They are to the fore of the ship, accessible through the following security doors.” Jeeves sends a map with four security doors highlighted. The doors lead to security corridors that run through the ship more directly than the passenger corridors. They also connect to the maintenance accessways. The nearest one is a few corridors away. “A linkpass is required to open these doors. Any PanGalactic Security Liaison should have one on their person.”
Skur Vonn: “Jeeves, you have their comm frequencies, can you backtrace them to get their location?"
Jeeves: “The ship’s data systems restrict access to location data, especially for security personnel. It would be counter to my protocols to attempt to access restricted information. However, one might observe that Ms. Wilberforce and Mr. Vonn have the technical expertise to attempt such an act via their links.”
Skur Vonn: “Staying here is suicide. At the very least we should grab our stuff and go to the lifeboats. Better if we can gain access to the crew areas to get weapons."
Bertie: “That's a good idea, Skur Vonn. Perhaps between all of us we might be able to gain access to the ship’s systems. A low priority one might have less protection, but still provide us with useful information."
Jeeves updates the map on your links. Arrows indicate that the cargo holds are in the aft of the ship, and the armory locker is in the fore, on the command deck. The airlock bay with the escape pods is to starboard.
Chip shakes off the effects of the stun baton and apologizes to Bertie and Kallina for the friendly fire. Leaning against the closed cabin door he can sense the figures still outside, in the corridor. The two mutinous crew members are dragging the body of the security guard down the hall, but haven’t made it very far, yet. He can even make out their voices—they are bitterly bickering about the blood stains they’re leaving. In the exchange, one mentions a “Cap’n Slagge.” You know that is not the name of the Serena Dawn's captain.
Bertie inspects the room for air vents or maintenance hatches. The life support systems are specifically built to avoid even a dralasite fitting through them. Instead of grates leading to broad, space-hogging vents, air is fed into the room via permeable membranes connected to capillary systems. If you demolished enough of the room’s walls, you might open up on a maintenance accessway, but you would need the ship’s schematics to know where to demolish.
Jeeves, having finished straightening Bertie’s clothes from her tumble, retrieves her medpack. “Perhaps you would care to apply some care to your injuries, ma’am? Or those of Ms. Of Furie?”
Suddenly, the ship rocks violently, and a deep, worrisome rumble shudders through the deck plates. A few seconds later, you hear a distant explosion.
What do you do?

"Oh my, are we under attack? Should I look at myself and Kallina's injuries while Skurr Vonn tries to access the ships systems? Or maybe it's time to leave"
Bertie looks around at the others, unsure.

Skur Vonn "We should be ready to leave once i start - if i'm detected in the system, they'll be here again t deal with us." The Yazirian watches to see if the other want him t wait, or proceed while Bertie tends to the injuries.

Should I make some healing rolls for Kallina and Bertie?

Chip
Chip replies to Kalllina with a soft grating
Sure thing, as he continues to press the flatter stones to the wall. They're heading away, but not gone yet.
Anyone run into anybody named Slagge? They were talking about someone's with that name and called him 'Cap'n'
Chip will check the link directory for Slagge if it's available.

Bertie tends to Kallina’s and her own injuries while Chip listens at the door. Chip hears the mutineers drag a body down the haul, open up another cabin, and stash the body in there. The mutineers depart, heading down the hall. Skur Vonn bides his time.
(Bertie and Kallina are back to full Hits!)
Chip checks the ship’s directory and finds a “Eustace Slagge” signed on to the crew at Port Verdigris. He is listed as working in Food Prep and Distribution.
