OOC
OOC
I figured I should open a OOC thread since every game has one.
Anyone who wants to start making a character can go ahead. I am looking into posting tables but until then you can just ask and one of us with rules can give you the result. If any crazy rolls come up that would make a character that you are uninterested in playing (missing a leg or 2 for example can be tricky to play), just re-roll.

Re: OOC
A good option. You would have to switch to female as Halea only allows females in her clergy. Halean clerics are great to have around but relatively weak in combat and their only healing invocation is cure disease (III). They are great in role playing situations and social interactions for sure (detect lie, improve social and musical skills, cause pleasure and pain, enhance senses, know languages etc).
If you want to go hard role-playing instead of combat, you would make an excellent cleric of Peoni. They are pacifists and will only fight under very rare situations (think undead). But they are easily the most powerful healers in the game and have several other useful skills.
The score are also good for a Mage, particularly an Odivshe Mage. That would be water, cold, darkness and inaction. They require a high Dex in addition to Aur. All Mages should have a decent Wil. Odivshe mages have a level I spell that gently cools things, it functions to deaden pain, reduce inflammation and allow faster healing. They are not bad in combat either (cold and darkness) and of course around water (breath water, swimming, purify etc). The most powerful mage in any of my games was a female Odivshe mage, she was played for about 15 years before the player hasd a really bad string of rolls when casting Breath of Dhivu (think cone of cold), she ended up turning herself into ice. It is still talked about at the table.
Mages start with spells from there convocation and neutral. They can learn others later but requires lots of work.
You have other options even leaving your score where they are.
Ivinian's get a +2 to height and if you add your medical points to Str you would make a solid cleric of Sarajin, they are strong in combat and have a IV circle invocation to make healing apples.
Aralius is a great sunsign. It is solid for several craftsman types (farmers, animal trainers, potters, tanners, engineers, Jewelers, masons, miners, clothiers, woodwards, woodcrafters) and anyone spending times outdoors (hunters, trappers, scouts, apothecaries) and boosts a couple of good weapon skills as well (club, polearm and spear). With his high Dex he is good with his hands so craft skills would be pretty good.

Re: OOC
Ooh, plenty of options to think about.
I'm tempted by Odivshe mage, but I think dwm71 was interested in the magic system, so if he wants to try a mage I'll go with a cleric of some type. (currently tending to Sarajin, so I can do both combat and magic)
I think I'll probably make a second psyche roll to get a +3 bonus.

Re: OOC
holy crap character creation has a lot of rolls and steps involved.

Re: OOC
Yes, it is the most difficult part of the rules for sure. Hopefully once I get everyone past that the rest will seem easy in comparison. I have already decided if I ever do a full game using HM, which is my ultimate goal that I am going to offer to mke characters for anyone who wants me to. I am not sure of details yet but something along those lines.

You can do a link like this

Or make a link with other text like this
{url=www.mywebsite.com/mypage.html} Descriptive Text{/url}
(of course use [], rather than {} )

Re: OOC
No worries, it's a little easy for me to remember because I used to write HTML code and the forum BB Code works semi-similar.
typically an end has to have that / in there to tell things it ends there.

Re: OOC
I can understand and appreciate that.
I wouldn't likely have been much of a computer person if I wasn't groomed into being a Tech Support guy by a relative that worked for IBM back in the 90's
Likely, I'd be driving a forklift still which I rather enjoyed. The only thing I would be into computers for is video games and even that is not very often.

Re: OOC
Nothing wrong with driving a forklift. I have done that some too. Before going to college I worked 3 years at a factory bakery, we made about 2.5 million rolls a shift. Lots of use for a forklift.

Re: OOC
I ran one in the overnight shift for a water bottling plant we used to have down here in Central VT. Paid really good, and i have no idea how many thousands of bottles of water we put out on average.
