CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Once he is in range, Denslow yells, Incoming!
Denslow Initiative [1d20+3]=17+3=20
Denslow "Gala" explosive apple mutation check [1d20+4]=20+4=24
100 ft range, [1d6]=4 fruits for [2d8]=11 dmg each
Sweet

Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 356D/81 (Afternoon)
Round 2
Kurot discharges two more rounds from his rifle. The first shot glances across the hull of the robot (Miss) and the second is high and to the right. (Miss)
OOC: Their AC is 15.
Podo aims a fungal pellet at the Sentivoc damaged by Kurot, but his aim is off, and the projectile passes by the target. (Miss)
Silvestri switches to his Pigmonn rifle and drills a hole into the severely damaged, burning metal beast! (10pt. dmg)
Urlando skirts the combat area with his bow at the ready, trying to pierce the artificial body of the sentry robot. The rat-man stumbles on a rock, causing the arrow to fly wildly and his limbs to flail. Luckily, he avoids falling prone!
Anton examines one of the destroyed Herdivocs as he takes cover. He could try to scavenge its whip appendage for a weapon. The adversaries are in range of a dart throw.
Denslow hurls a reactive fruit barrage at the opponent nicked by Podo. Four ripe, red missiles land against the minion of Motter and it explodes in a glorious fireball (44pt. dmg), showering the area with debris!
OOC: Nice!
Max, charging in with his spear, is startled by the exploding smart metal being and shields his body from the blast. The defensive reaction causes the neuronaut to miss his attack!
Each of you hears a melodic, but agonized, disembodied voice mutter, ”Dying…”

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Silvestri
Hearing the voice the Psion looks around for any additional red-cloaks that might be hurt. Assuming he sees none, Silvestri will head over to the one he saw on his knees to render healing:
Initiative: [1d20]=8
Psychic Healing: [2d6+3]=9+3=12
If there are other red-cloaks he missed, then the target of his healing might be different

Saiph
Encouraged by the way the fight is going, Saiph launches a sling bullet at the sentivoc closest to him.
Initiative: [1d20]=15 plus [1d3]=3
Sling: [1d20+2]=15+2=17, dmg [1d4]=3

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
How close are we? If we started 200 yds away with two full moves I'm thinking I'm about 100 yds away still?
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Denslow continues to produce a harvest of fruit missiles.
. ugh bad luck. But good luck can help. I will spend five luck to bring that up to 19.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Max continues his spear assault.
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Kurot takes careful aim again...
Rifle (Aimed shot, short/medium range): [1d24+3]=8+3=11 (+2 if short range) [2d12]=18
Rifle (Short/Medium range): [1d20+3]=5+3=8 (+2 if short range) [1d12]=4
...and wastes two bullets.
(Unless Denslow wants to give Kurot a couple of luck points worth of help for that first shot...)

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Probably, but so I don't have to retcon any actions let's say its 100 feet.
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Sounds good, I was counting my moves as 50 yds instead of ft anyway.
Podo
Moves 50' closer and fires another fungal pod. Flexing his arms he knows next times he'll be able to lay hands on these metal monstrosities.
[1d20+1]=4+1=5 pellet attack
big miss

"This might prove useful" Anton chortles as he works to remove the herdivocs whip.
He works carefully while doing his best to not become a target in the ensuing melee.
He'll use his PLASMA TORCH if he is unable to remove the whip under his own strength.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Yes, I thought it was Yards outside. AD&D 2e, Labyrinth Lord and Mutant Future all use this rule. DCC and MCC don't appear to differentiate, but we will use Yards outside.
Please roll a 1d4 Usage Die.Anton_E_Gregor wrote: ↑Tue May 31, 2022 6:24 pm He'll use his PLASMA TORCH if he is unable to remove the whip under his own strength.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Urlando recovers from his stumble and launches another missile from his primitive bow....
short bow to hit [1d20]=20; damage [1d6]=2
critical hit roll!
[1d6+2]=2+2=4
I guess that's another free attack? I'll roll the second.
The spirits of Urlando's irradiated rat forebearers smile on him as he follows his first bowstrike with another precision shot:
short bow to hit [1d20]=17; damage [1d6]=5

Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 356D/81 (Afternoon)
Round 3
As Silvestri rushes to the crimson humanoid’s aid, the closest Sentivoc whirs, rotates its sword arm and spins rapidly on approach against the psion. Silvestri dodges the twirling sphere (Miss) and continues to the wounded stranger.
The second security bot focuses the can atop its body in the direction of Podo and Anton. A violet beam blasts forth, bathing the two with unnatural illumination. Max struggles and leaps out of the conical beam (Made Save) but Podo and his bulk can’t evade the subdual beam (Fails Save, stunned, -1d on all actions for 8 rounds)
Silvestri makes his way to the wounded person and applies his healing measures. (12 hp recovered) The red-robed humanoid rises and stands, as a disembodied voice broadcasts:
”Gratitudes…”
It is only now that Silvestri realizes both humanoids have their entire heads wrapped in red cloth without any slots to see, hear or smell.
Saiph spins his sling and knocks a bullet against the spinning Sentovoc. (3pt. dmg)
Denslow lobs four more fruit missiles into the fray, eroding holes in the shell of the artificial denizen! (12pt. dmg) + 5 Luck spent
Kurot’s aim is steady and true, blasting a large exit hole in the beam-blasting bot that forces it into a tumble and motionless on the ground! (18pt. dmg - DESTROYED)
Anton utilizes his plasma cutter and zips-off the Herdivoc appendage. The once orbital symbiote examines the device and formulates a plan to make use of it.
OOC: 2 Luck spent on Kurot
Urlando fires two arrows into the remaining mobile sphere, sending it into a death dive! (2+5=7pt. dmg - DESTROYED) His irradiated ancestors have smiled upon him this day.
The active nomad stores its bolo weapon and comforts the wounded comrade. A second, distinct omnipresent voice sounds out:
”More, soon. Not safe.”
The standing crimson-clad humanoid points to a dust cloud in the East.

"Who are you and why were these attacking you? Perhaps you can tell us the events of how this came to pass as we relocate to a safer location.", eyeing the oncoming cloud.

Dazed by the energy blast from the Sentivoc, Podo struggles to remain upright but eventually stabilizes. He approaches the crimson-clad humanoids and addresses them.
In response to the fungal giant, a disembodied voice transmits “I Sha’oul Third of the Nine-Twenty.” The first stranger, with face hidden by red strip of cloth, then gestures to the second, healed by Silvestri and also obscured by wrappings, “Here be Jan’ort Fifth of the Six-Fourteen.”
“To whom am I communicating?” Says a voice, offering no additional information.
Silvestri interjects his immediate concerns while Max inspects the robot wreckage for useful items.
