Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Korin climbs out into the daylight and takes a look around at their surroundings to see if he is anywhere near something familiar to him.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Korin and Tiny
(and presumably the others?) find themselves standing in broad (but hazy) daylight, in an open, softly rolling but mostly quite flat landscape. The vegetation is heath- or moor-like. Low bushes, heather, steppe grass etc in most directions. Some mid-sized mountains can be glimpsed in the very far distance. There is a faint, pleasant breeze of fresh air.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Korin once everyone is out will put the covering or whatever barred their exit back on if it is intact enough to do so. If possibly he might put some iron spikes in it to add to holding it shut. per his inventory he has 6 large iron spikes so if he can he will use 2-3 of them for this.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Richard looks around for flowers now that he has found freedom outside.
Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
After some hesitation Thorelf exits into the daylight as well. He squints, blocking the sun with his palm.
"I didn't....didn't think we'd ever make it. Where are we? I have some food and water with me, but if we're going on a long trek, we need to consider hunger and thirst."

Richard
Does anyone recognize this place, or have a clue to where to go now?
An inn with a warm bed and some good food, perhaps?

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Eaton (as NPC)
stutters, pointing at Korin, with a mix of awe and scornfulness: "The gods smile on the godless....for have not your prayers been answered today ? You, are now outside !
But do the gods reward the faithful ? ...pah!" - he spits on the ground.
His face all screwed up, he turns around, and limps back towards the wood plank cover, and leans on it, facing downwards but not really looking anywhere, his mind busy struggling with religious questions.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Korin now that everyone should be out tries to pin down the cover if he has not already done so. Then will go back to looking at the surroundings for a road, path or anything that leads away from this place or even for anything that looks even remotely familiar.

Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
Thorelf takes a small walkabout as well, staring at the horizon. No other landmarks or buildings in sight?
Re: Chapter 05: Round the bend
As the comrades-in-arms take a scan of the surroundings, and inhale their first doses of fresh air in a long time, a commotion is heard behind them. It starts off as a sudden deep rumble, followed by a mid-frequency crash, topped up by the high pitched shrill of Eaton (as NPC): "Aaaaiiiiyeeeeee.....".

Tiny looks around, does he see what is causing Eaton to yell?
