Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Anton cautiously advances down the hill with the goal of taking cover behind one of the disabled machines hoping to examine it fnf and determine any weakness that could give an advantage over the remaining ones.

Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 356D/81 (Afternoon)
Podo, the towering mass of fungal pride, leads the charge down the hill to engage the mechanical monstrosities. His luck holds and the Sentivocs are too engaged with the nomads to notice your advance!
OOC: You are now 200 yards away and yet to be spotted.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Podo
Trying to take in more information while continuing to advance, Podo attempts to see if he can gain any more insight into the red-dressed figures or the mechanical horrors attacking them.
OOC: Do the red dressed figures look not mechanical? I would basically like to verify that this isn't some robotic ruse just to get us closer, that these 'victims' are indeed some sort of living humanoids. Can I tell if they are human or other and what kind of shape they are in? Are they holding their own?
If I can verify these red figures are living/breathing I'll take a shot, otherwise I will try to advance closer to get a better look (double move.)
Raising his arm, Podo points a pudgy digit at the closest bot and fires an arching pellet through the air to try and make contact.
OOC: What kind of shape are the robots in? Do they all look unharmed or are some hurt and smoking/electrical popping? If one seems any more injured that the others I will aim at that one.
[1d16+1]=14+1=15 pellet attack
[1d4]=1 dmg
Assuming the pellet range is the same as a sling, die roll made on a d16 for long range

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Max seems to go wild, his eyes bugging out and he races across the plain towards the creatures at a full gallop racing alongside Podo.
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Denslow makes his way across with the others, trying to be stealthy. He is trying to get in range to lob a fruit.
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Kurot moves forward, using as much cover as possible and trying not to outrun the others. When he reaches short range for his pigmonn rifle, he takes careful aim and takes two shots at the sentivocs.
I've gotten rusty on the mechanics, so apologies—but I'm assuming that Kurot can move forward 80 yards, not outrun the others, and still take three actions. If that's wrong, let's just have him move forward as much as he can while still being able to take the three actions. I'm also assuming that the listed weapon range on Kurot's character sheet is in yards.
Rifle (Aimed shot, short/medium range): [1d24+3]=6+3=9 (+2 if short range) [2d12]=5
Rifle (Short/Medium range): [1d20+3]=12+3=15 (+2 if short range) [1d12]=12

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Anton keeps moving towards one of the downed sentivoc forms, careful not to put himself in Kurots line of fire.
Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Silvestri
Once close enough to make out a target he fires the blaster at the sentivoc with the clearest line of fire:
Blaster: to-hit [1d20+2]=13+2=15, dmg [3d6]=10, ammo [1d7]=1
He notes the power bar tick down a notch.

Saiph
Without a decent ranged weapon to use against such metallic horrors, the miniature mutant circles round, keeping low, waiting for an opportunity to use his powers on an injured enemy.

Urlando
I'm not sure how effective Urlando's bow is going to be against the sentivocs, so I'm just going to focus on getting closer without getting seen.
Urlando tries to stay out of sight of sentivocs while moving to short range. He will try to get around behind the mechanical beings while the others are firing weapons and hurling mutant fruit and pellets.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Gam’A Zone, Motter’s Realm 356D/81 (Afternoon)
Round 1
Podo monitors the field while advancing on the skirmish. All three mechanical entities are leaking dark gray smoke, leading one to conclude they have suffered damage from the two defenders. The crimson-clad figures are not mechanical, so he raises an arm to discharge a fungal pellet. The dense, crystalized polymer slams into the Sentvoc with a dull >THUD<. (1pt. dmg)
Max charges full tilt across the plain towards the mechanical brutes, signaling vengeance is to be delivered!
Denslow takes his time to approach the group and get within range of his fruit missiles.
Kurot takes aim to fire a well-placed shot that, unfortunately, ricochets off a Sentivoc. Miss
His second, more hasty shot, hits home and punctures the construct’s shell! (12pt. dmg) The new hole begins to spew dark smoke!
Anton moves forward against the immobilized Herdivocs.
Silverstri lets loose a blaster bolt from his weapon that rips a large, burning gash through the robot’s body! (10pt. dmg)
Saiph scampers forward and circles about, waiting for an opportunity to strike.
Urlando, hoping the aggressors are distracted, moves around to the blind side of the Sentivocs.
OOC: These are your surprise actions. The enemy will get an action next round.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Kurot closes to short range (if he isn’t there already), takes careful aim again, and fires off another pair of shots.
Rifle (Aimed shot, short/medium range): [1d24+3]=9+3=12 (+2 if short range) [2d12]=8
Rifle (Short/Medium range): [1d20+3]=6+3=9 (+2 if short range) [1d12]=8

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
Podo
Advancing closer Podo looks for a reaction on the red-robed humanoids, wondering if they are relieved or happy for some assistance. Seeing his first pellet fall near harmlessly to the ground off the metal exterior, he fires again attempting to hit the section that has been exposed by Kurot's shot.
[1d16+1]=8+1=9 pellet attack - long range
[1d4]=2 pellet damage

The psion moves closer, and not wanting to use up any more blaster power he switches to his rifle. He aims and fires at the same target as before:
Initiative: [1d20]=20
Rifle (Short Range 120): [1d20+3]=20+3=23, dmg [1d12]=10

Podo notes the crimson-clad beings react favorably to your attack upon the Sentivocs.

Urlando
Urlando will attempt to sneak around a flank and fire his short bow, hoping to pierce the metal carapace of the one of the sentivoc-beasts.
Initiative: [1d20+0]=13+0=13
short bow to hit [1d20]=1; damage [1d6]=3
Really?
Fumble roll: [1d8-2]=3-2=1
Twang! Urlando is the laughingstock of the party.

Re: CHAPTER 12c: Across Motter's Realm
I thought there was a downed sentivoc already?
Anton tries to stay in cover. If there is a downed sentivox he'll examine it for weaknesses or attempt to scavenge its weapon.
Otherwise he'll look for an opportunity to hurl a dart if such a moment presents itself.
