I leave for Massachusetts about 3am Thursday morning, so it may be an iffy thing for you to see another update from me this week. I'll check in when I can to keep from stalling the other games I'm in as a player, but another combat update may not be in the cards until Tuesday/Wednesday. Fyi... 8-)

That's one vicious hob, ain't he?

Hope all ends up ok... And no worries on the game pace. I am flying out this afternoon for a business trip myself.

I will be traveling with limited internet access until next Tuesday (24 September) so I'm not sure if I will be able to post until then.

Ogirdor will continue fighting, if he takes another hit he will try to take some steps back and cast CLW on himself.

...Andrin, likewise, hears nothing but the voices of his companions filtering through...
Am I understanding correctly, that the noise/voices Andrin (and Thurinor when there) hears down at the mine entrance are the party's voices, filtering echoing down through the corridors to the bottom mine entrance?

You are right, I got that wrong. Edited my posting.

Just a quick note about the whole prophetic harpy thing, since I feel like a couple of you are maybe wondering about it. From a character standpoint, the veracity of the harpy's prophetic and somewhat insane-sounding declarations should not be questioned. Your characters, if they care at all, are pretty sure she was being honest about some horrible thing that continues to affect this neck of the woods. She and her sisters were clearly cursed by something or someone.

So basically, I wouldn't get too caught up in breaking down everything she said in order to mine for clues (unless doing so suits how you want to roleplay your character), but it's also not something to ignore...

If my giving out such info really ruins it for anyone, I sincerely apologize, and do let me know. But for me, the tone of this adventure from the start was not to emphasize prophetic happenings (mystery, yes, but prophecy not so much), so it makes sense (to me, at least) to let you know that I don't intend for that to take over or to railroad you into fulfilling some prophecy that you may or may not be interested in. How things progress will be up to your choices. I won't be blindsiding you with something you "should have remembered"...

Thanks for sharing that, at least for me it is useful to keep things in the right perspective and set expectations.

And, again, thanks for picking up where Vargr left. :)

Spear, thrown - To hit: [1d20+1] = 18+1 = 19, Damage (s/m): [1d6] = 5, Damage (L): [1d8] = 4
Entangle! Entangle! ... Oops. Too late. :)
I have a funny feeling that little guy had some info we could have used. Still, what can you do? He ran.

Does entangle work in dungeon corridors? There must be at least some ground cover or foliage to allow the spell to work as far as I'm concerned.

That's correct:
By means of this spell the druid is able to cause
plants in the area of effect to entangle creatures within the area. The
grosses, weeds, bushes, and even trees wrap, twist, and entwine about
creatures, thus holding them fast for the duration of the spell.

You could make... really long moss?? Obstructive lichen?

Yeah, no, you're right. I'm just a fighterthief! I know nothing of these matters. I'll just be over here... disarming something, or...

Hey, no problem Zeb. Having fun doing it! :D

Sir Clarence, I agree that an entangle wouldn't have worked in this instance. From the spell description, there must be foliage at the ready. For future reference, under the right circumstances I would say that underground roots could be used by the spell. But not in this particular place. It's too rocky.

Poor little goblin. The dice determined his fate... :o

Update coming...

ragnboneshopper wrote:Chub, I'm a little confused by the description of wedging the door, as from your previous actions and from the dialog between characters, I had understood you to all be inside the forge area of the mine by this point. Of course, Ozborn can wedge the door, but as I see it, he'd most likely be doing it from inside that first big stone door at the top of the stairs and moving from there through the next door and into the tunnel to join the others. The first door does swing inward, so either wedging or spiking it will work. Just let me know for sure if that's what you intend or if I've totally misunderstood. 8-)

Full map of the area posted below, as you now have a clear picture of how the two mine entrances meet up as one tunnel leading away to unknown depths of adventure. ;) I've placed your relative locations on the map, as I imagine you currently. Corrections? Investigating this area further? Moving on? Using established marching order?
WHOOPS! My bad. I was the one who misunderstood, I guess. I thought everyone else had gone outside and entered the mine from the mine entrance, but it seems everyone went through the south door (the one at the bottom, I mean) I was trying to pin. I'll fix it.
