Chapter I: Volokarnos
Re: Chapter I: Volokarnos
Burkus emerges from whatever he'd found to take cover behind. "That was...suspiciously easy," says the ever-skeptical fighter. "Hard to imagine we're the first to think to come in here, turn the obelisk a few times, and grab the coins. Still—I guess free money is free money." He still gives the coins a skeptical look as they're handed to Adras.

Hondo will continue to stand guard as the investigations are made, ready to take care of anyone who should be injured by a trap, or shudder the thought that there might be skeletons in the closet...
Having seen all the doorways, Hondo proposes we use the North doorway and check out the door at the end of the corridor.

"I expect it is the opposite Burkus, that is you open the secret door and leave coins. As in an offering."

Harlan nods and spits more pipeweed juice. That's why I asked if anyone knew who the statue was- no need to irritate one of you by robbing your god...
Basalt has no opinion about the next move, so he joins the crew, weapon carried and ready.

Rooney offered the above suggestion. He shrugs. "Anywhere to spend the gold here? Maybe hide the sacks outside, under a loose flagstone and pick them up on the way back."Rooney
"The Green Man? Silvanus, Moradin maybe Bacchus?" he lists a few shrines he may have liberated of unwanted offerings.

Weezel
Weezel grumbles at the very notion of leaving an offering, even in jest. (Then, he probably doesn't get the joke.)
Leave your own coins.. he growls under his breath. My money is coming with me.
He stands in front of the obelisk looking at the rest of the group. Awright, where are we going now. Gotta be more gold around here somewhere. Should we take a vote?

Re: Chapter I: Volokarnos
There has been 1 suggestion for east and north each. Please vote and/or elect a caller.
This is the marching order I have, is this correct?

- Dwarves (Harlan, Weezel)
- Cleric (Hondo), Elf (Finethorn)
- Locksman (Rooney), Magician (Eronin)
- Hobbit (Fairfax), Baggage Carrier (Adras)
- Elf (Nym) and Fighter (Burkus)
Re: Chapter I: Volokarnos
"If treasure is really this plentiful, maybe we should leave the silver here and take just the gold with us," suggests Burkus. "If it's been here undisturbed this long, it's probably not going to get taken now, especially if we rotate the obelisk back to hide the secret room again. Then we won't have to worry about loading ourselves down too much if we come across another lucky treasure find, and we'll have the silver ready in the closest thing to a secure stash we're likely to find."

Rooney
I have posted twice regarding going east.

Adras votes West...if it counts. We have LOTs of money. Can we go now?Lance wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 12:50 pm There has been 1 suggestion for east and north each. Please vote and/or elect a caller.![]()

Finethorn votes North. (and notes that we can put all the money back as it's only 50' from the front door and so eminently recoverable later)
Ingwe tips his head on one side and looks like, if only he could understand the word "Vote" he'd have some idea of what the party were asking.

'Snot a bad idea, Burkus. Unless we're runnin' for our lives from somethin big and hairy when we leave. Let's settle that question quick- then I say we head North.

Nym was with Rooney on east so we are at 2 votes for East and 1 each for North and West.
"I am good with leaving the silver here, makes sense."

Re: Chapter I: Volokarnos
Can we explore both, north and east at the same time or does opening one door mean the other gets locked closed? I mean north is literally to the end of a 30'ft corridor and door.
Could a rogue use a lockpicking or Remove traps skill to keep both doors continually open?
Fairfax is not bothered north or east. Just post an action saying what your character does. My other thoughts are if we conclude the two dwarves are in front, scouting and leading, then as they are taking the mist risk with walking over traps and dangers ahead, we should let them decide where to go and we follow.

"I agree with leaving the silver here," Eronin says. "It's been here this long and will only serve to weigh us down. I think we should proceed north."

This should be possible, with the caveat that they can't be locked afterwards.Bluetongue wrote: ↑Fri Feb 18, 2022 4:57 pm Could a rogue use a lockpicking or Remove traps skill to keep both doors continually open?

"East!" barks the dwarf. "And if we leave any coins in that niche there, it oughtta be only the silver!"

Alright, east it is! I'll assume you lot are turning the obelisk to the appropriate position. I will post as soon as I can!

Finethorn aids in the turning, then encourages Adras.
Right there, let's pick up the gear and off we go.
And then
Ingwe, Heel.
