I think his official record matches what he said - but there are annotations I don't understand. What do 11CP, MCG and MGP stand for? I think this is a Good Conduct Discharge.

By the way, Nālani, tomorrow the local college is running a public lecture on "anti-phased electro-optical circuit controllers" sponsored by the local electronics manufacturing company. Their kit is quite good and I'd like to go if I can. You said I had to keep up with my education and it's always useful to talk to the designers.

We could stop at the shops on the way back.

It won't be expensive as the Captain has accepted most of my money.

Mid Afternoon. Plenty of time to walk the new visitor about the ship, for other visitor(s) to arrive, to finish reviewing stuff from emptying the crate.

Reven hasn't been seen on the crew deck for some time. Maggie has also gone somewhere quiet to make calls.
Noor, Indrani, Nālani, Pranit and Assana are all hanging about upstairs. (As is Hoshiko the cat).

And Noor needs to arrange for L1 and P4 to get a proper make-over if she and Thaco are moving downstairs (especially if she's to use it as an actual office) - although Thaco may be required to use Arnwulf's room for a bit until the furniture improves. Assana also seems to want her own room.

"My guess would be 11 approved combat actions, usually 30 days in a battle situation, hopefully they are wound badges. <smile> MCG is a Medal for Conspicuous Gallantry, MCP might be a step below that.

Most of the weapons were on the hull...and fell off when you spun the ship up! Internally, the only weapons you captured were a shotgun and an automatic - The shotgun (pump-action) was at the bottom of the lift-shaft and the pistol (one magazine, part empty) was skittering about the crew-deck. The bomb-squad removed the explosive devices.

Indrani speaks to everyone. "We have three hours before dinner. We still have to clean up the crew and passenger areas, and start replenishing our missing and damaged supplies."

She turns to Reven and Nalani. "You two, please keep working on the container's contents."

"Pranit, please see to obtaining the weapons we need for the ship's locker."

Indrani will start with the crew area, listing what Items they need to purchase or repair. Time permitting, she will do the same with the passenger deck.

Anastacio watched the bustle around him and raised his hand to volunteer to assist whoever came nearest first.

Nālani, who has been distracted by her comm:

Inspector Umale has contacted me. There has been another attack related to the Queen, and a policeman has died. She is sending a sergeant to re-interview Assana. I have arranged a password, so we will know it is a policeman and not an assassin.

Assana was talking about getting her own room? I think she should, until we take passengers. She is a shareholder, after all.

Oh, yes. There is no mystery over her ownership of the hacker-deck. I took it from the pirate, and I gave it to the person who stopped him taking control of the Queen with it.

Now, I still want to isolate the computer from comms, grav control, anything she can use against us, or inform on us. I also need to talk to Assana in private, and change before we go out. This Yacht Club, nah Belter-bar.

She picks up her new trophy tool-kit and, before she heads off to install selective cut-outs on the linkages allowing the computer to access comm, environment and power systems: Right, Pranit, let us finish looking for treasure in this chest, so I can do my other tasks.

And I would like to reduce the life-support drain in my cabin. Hoshiko and I enjoy the visit of guests, but they are inefficient in the long run.

It is difficult to determine, from her deadpan expression, whether this is humour, and if so to what degree.

Lacking direction, Anastacio took it upon himself to gather scraps and boxes and move them to the recycler.

“Gathering trash for the reciclaje.”

He announced this to no one in particular and made himself as busy as he could. Time to earn his keep.

Thaco
The recycling system is surprisingly low tech - a large metal bin with a lid - situated in an alcove. The layout of the dock appears to have several levels. From the top level is a jetway that leads down to the other side of the vessel. This has a plusher waiting area and grander turning area for vehicles. Presumably this is the Passenger Entrance. The middle layer has the extensible jetway that you have used - connecting to the Crew Entrance - and below you you can see a third, larger connection to the cargo airlock below the crew one. A stair and lift connects each of the floors. Each jetway is protected by a station airlock and the ship by its own arrangements.

Having headed back and forth a few times, you can see that the turning area connects to a major roadway that joins the Queen's landing pad to the rest of the pads and port hub - and that the roadway isn't particularly busy. What traffic is passing appears to be containerised traffic rather than passenger vehicles.

Taking a look outside you can see the hexagonal layout of the landing pads as lines stretching out across the crater floor. The only movement outside is a tracked vehicle in port authority colours making a regular patrol along long-established trails. Admittedly, the light is poor and the colours are really only visible when it passes through a beam of light.

You can see the outside of the Queen herself. Once white and immaculate, the hull's upper surfaces are pockmarked with shot-marks (some patched) and the top of the cargo deck is severely scraped. Some work has been done on each corner to make repairs. Those marks suggests that the rumours of breaking through a hanger door are true.

Finally, the rim of the crater is a bright line that forms the horizon. Lit by mirrors in orbit, and enhanced by the internal lighting, the greenhouses twinkle in the night-black sky. Above them, occasional launches or landings pass.

And drawing yourself from your reverie you return to the ship...

...only to find the inner door to the airlock is locked. You buzz in and announce your plight.

"Yes, that might be helpful. Also, include a vid or pic of the item in the log, just in case."

He stood there. Taking it all in. Man…space. He chuckled to himself and nearly floored himself smacking into the closed airlock door. Luckily no one had seen that. He massaged his face as he stared at the door. He worked at it a bit. Knocked on it and tried to get the ship to acknowledge him.

That resulted in failure to he tried to buzz the ship.

“Oye, I’m…I’m locked outside the ship. Well…outside the interior airlock. Can one of you guys buzz me through?”

He realized he hadn’t hit the button to actually speak to the interior…so he tried again. This time with a button depressed.

Oye, amigos! I’m locked outside the airlock. Can some one help me inside?”
