The Princess always wants to do things in town :D

While The Princess watches and tries to engage with the Luther-kin, The Princess at another point in time engages TK and Wake.

"TK, right? Nice to see you again. I just wanted to follow up on something I heard. You heard a woman's voice talk to you in that cave? Do you also have a token from her? A rock, or gem perhaps?" She holds up her hand to pause any reply. "Wait. Don't answer. Think about how she could have been spying on you, and take steps to fix that. Maybe place an unusual object outside your tent and someone will dispose of it."

She cocks her head and thinks. "We need a way to communicate this without talking about it. Or...maybe she can read your mind. Telepathy. Did you converse with her in your head when she spoke to you, or did you just listen? No, wait! Don't think about that! Gah! I think more drastic measures must be taken. I'll get back to you. Both."

"Sorry Wake, yes I have a few pearls. Are you looking to identify something? I didn't know you were a mage."

Wake

I am not a mage just a simple priest of Phyton, but I have a couple of items to Identify and I know I need pearls first and foremost and then find a mage willing to cast the spell.

The Knife

The Knife looks up from tying a knot as The Princess addresses him, as if he was lost in his own little world. "Oh yes, hello! Well, I prefer The Knife." He smiles. "But since it's you, you can call me TK. In fact, why don't you call me TK and you can call him The Knife, if that would clear up any confusion. Or maybe the other way around if that would be even clearer."

"The voice in the cave? Yes I did hear her. Did she give me anything? Well...
He stops as The Princess holds up her hand. "Unusual object? How about I leave The Knife outside? I've been trying to dispose of him for a while...Oh stop whining you big baby, I'm just joking. Honestly, for a dangerous weapon you have such a thin skin".

"Talk to her in my head? Well...Oh, you don't want me to think about that either? Oh really? I don't have a mind worth reading? That's a fine thing to say coming from you, Mr-Sleeps-All-Day!"

The Princess

TK: "Yes, well, this is all so unusual. Having to ward one from the thoughts of others. Sorry." She smiles as TK talks to The Knife. "I've heard of such things. Wonderful! And it, he?, seems to be quite the character. You both are lucky, you know."

"Ooh! Did he also hear the voice? Is it like a conference in your head? Do they talk over each other?" The Princess seems quite excited at the novelty of the situation and loses focus for a moment. "Yes. Right. where was I?"

She muses for a moment. "Hmmm. It's possible that you may be able to generate confusion if someone is reading your mind. Yes, I could see how that would be confusing. Good. So assuming that The Knife can hear me, maybe he should start discussing the personal hygiene concerns with being kept at waist level much of the day. And while he is, maybe The Knife can think through and remove any item that may have been given by a questionable source."

Wake: "Phyton, huh? Nature god of some humans, if I recall. But I'm glad you came to me. It was my intent to set up such a shop on the island and was close to opening when all this trouble happened. And now all the mages seem to be out galavanting about. There was talk of a guild and knowledge sharing, but sharing with myself is all I can do right now." She waves away her ramblings and continues. "What I can do right now is reserve them for you until things improve. In fact, I do have a storage and money-changing service available right now. We can exchange gold for gems, the reverse, or hold them for you in reserve. Along with any other items deemed too valuable to risk out in the jungle."

The Princess

"Excellent. I think we can make that work. Do you want to keep them on your person, or should I hold them for you until you need them?"

The Princess also goes looking for members of the black tower expedition. (I think only Feanol, Keg, and The Knife are around, and PC'd.) So she asks this of them each.

"So I really hate to be morbid, but practicality demands it. Max knew a spell that I could use to repair that carpet. Do any of you have his effects?"

Luther's New Revelations!

The smarmy looking blond haired lad just smirks at Luther's attempt to hurt him, sidestepping the blow with relative ease. This makes Luther even more bristling mad, his scary demeanor reverting back to his full on fight mode few others have seen before. The golden clad progeny makes a quick spin move that would rival the best trained monks, swinging his own golden colored sword in a high arc that comes down alongside the big bear man, just missing him. "You don't really think you can best me in mortal combat, do you father? I can sense your feelings, you know. Can you sense mine? I didn't think so."

The others keep their distance for now, but Amun, Maag, Yrias, and Keg circle the two combatants with their large swords at the ready, just waiting for a nod from their friend. The much younger version of Luther continues. "Slaves are only a necessary tool and should be considered as such. Mother taught me that, and lots of other interesting things too. Though she never gave me any of the neat stuff you got from her."

The much younger fighter continues to eye up his opponent as he addresses the entire group next. "I am Mor-Tar, son of Luther! If any of you think you can harm me, step forward and try it." He winks in Kegs direction after his earlier comment, awaiting another attack from his opponent.

The Knife

The Knife's grin widens. "Well, I'd never tell him, but it is rather nice. Except when he complains about being used to chop up pieces of bamboo. Or starts snoring. Ha! I knew you were listening! And you do snore!"

"The nice lady wants to know if you heard the voice in the cave. Yes, that cave. Which other cave did you think I meant? What do you mean, what voice? You must have heard it. Ah. I didn't even know you knew that."
He looks up at the Princess. "He says he was going over dwarven sayings to try and work out the answer to the riddle. Yes, alright, ancient dwarven sayings". The Knife roles his eyes and shakes his head. "You know, there are times when you really such a pompous show-off. We both know I'm the brains in the outfit. If it wasn't for me you'd be hanging on a wall somewhere. Or tossed into a ditch by an owner who isn't as tolerant as me. Remember all the times I've... The Knife winces and clutches his temples for a moment.

"There you go. That's set him off. Nobody could mind read through that.

"Now then, strange objects I've picked up or been given. Well, none. Definitely no weird woman giving me stuff. Or wanting to do stuff either.
Can you believe Luther did that? Ugh. I'm sure this jungle is full of enough nasty diseases without going out of your way to catch something. I mean, all I've been doing is walking around and I've got this rash all the way down...er...yes...you don't want to know about that do you?"

"So, no strange woman, no weird things found or been given."

The Princess

She nods at the introduction. "Welcome Mor-Tar. It seems you learned much from your Mother, stingy as she may have been with you. Quite the imposing figure, and at such a young age. So much more time to learn and grow. Maybe even one day rival your Mother in power. Of course, she will have made plans to prevent you from doing so. At least not without help."

TK: "Excellent. Sorry for the disruption and doublespeak. That's both good and bad news. The good is that she doesn't have you compromised, the bad is that she can observe us even without tokens." The Princess sighs. "The challenge I now see is that we must remove the tokens from any who have them, without alerting her. I still think the tokens make it easier, maybe she could only speak to you when you were near the orbs."

"Do you have any ideas on how to separate adventurers from these tokens without their knowledge? Hypnotism, sleep, charm, outright theft?"

Luther
Luther circles Mor-Tar, growling. You came from my seed, but you ain't no son of mine! The worst of the Bruin Clan is made of better stuff than you.
Are you jealous 'cuz your Mama din't give you the good toys?
Luther laughs a hard, angry laugh.
Even as he does, Luther snatches a handful of sand, throws it at Mor-Tar's face, and attacks again.

The Mor-Tar The Better

Luther knows that he will need to get down and dirty to win this fight, so he starts off by tossing sand in his boys eyes, distracting him enough to land a blow that gets mostly absorbed by the lads golden armor. Hissing through his gnashed teeth, the ranger reminds his son that it takes more than one night of pleasure to produce a real Bruin.

Mor-Tar seems both surprised and impressed with the latest dirty tactic used against him. "Well, maybe Mother was wrong about you after all. Perhaps you could have actually served some minor purpose in the family."

Trying to ignore the logic tossed out at him by the Princess, the golden boy takes another swing at his father, raking his sword across his shoulder this time. 4 dam

"Don't worry about me, father. I was promised a great reward for bringing Mother your traitorous head. She told you not to tell, but you did anyway, so now you must die. It's nothing personal."

"Keg, (once she has his attention quietly whispering to him) I have a new spell that might help if things go against our hero. I don't know him so any help you can give me to know when he is in mortal danger of going down. My spell should at least distract long enough to get him out of there, but I feel he'd want to fight this out and win if he can. It will also affect anyone 20' around him."

Keg ignores the comment directed at him from the Luther-Spawn. He leans in and listens to Feanol and nods. Way I see this, it is a duel.
Nothing worth people dying over though. If things go south for Luther, go ahead and do your thing... But if Luther can end this, let him. If Luther goes in for a kill... well... We'll see.

Then he sees what Ma'ag does and shouts. Hey! Back off! This is between Luther and Jr.

Liam Here, here! the older man shouts in agreement.

Keg turning, Shut up you! I didn't ask for your approval!

Liam Speechless.
