Sweet!

Would any of us know if these coins are more (or less) valuable than our modern coins? Or do we need to investigate that ourselves?
To save a post in the village thread, they are spent at equal value by the ignorant. To collectors, they are worth 3-4+ times more value.

Drake Gold coins, are treated as half platinums in value but usually traded as federal reserve so a type of gold standard used by the Duchy Mint. So the Crown keeps +20% of value when traded in to cover stuff like inflation, GDP, its own governmental debts. So you have between 1350-1800gp value to a collector or at the Duchy Bank. Lodging an account at the bank rather than a straight cash exchange might in the long run provide annual interest dividends, but to a individual prospector rather than a corporation, receiving 75gp annually on a 1500gp account is not worth it.

Man, I'm glad I asked so we didn't fall into that "ignorant" category.

Sven counts out the 450 coins, piling them into separate stacks of 34, leaving a total of 8 coins leftover. He gives Gnimish, Treyvor, and Truro one stack of coins each, telling them that they are likely worth more than a single gold coin. He slides 2 stacks of (68 total) coins to Amos, Isvand, Gerdal, and Orgoth each, leaving the last pile for himself.

"As I did with the sapphires, I will take the remainder of these coins to have sold so we can split up the profits. Please feel free to do whatever you like with your own gold Drake's, but be sure you get the correct value for them."

as you divide the treasure up, would you also consider:

recouping the costs initially paid out for any holy water, first aid kits and supplies, as you paid upfront for 'team supplies', so maybe set up a team fund to cover future equipment costs like supplies, mercenary hire.

Secondly, you can pay 100gp to Bublé the bard for another song in your groups favour (someone script it), which will earn you bonus XP.

You can also hire a tavern hog roast celebration, all in food and drink for 50gp.

Have you got other team costs rolled over from before that you want to pay off before you divided the plunder?

Yes, I think some of this 800gp we just got will need to go towards this kind of stuff.

Secondly, you can pay 100gp to Bublé the bard for another song in your groups favour (someone script it), which will earn you bonus XP. Anyone?

You can also hire a tavern hog roast celebration, all in food and drink for 50gp. This seems like drawing unnecessary attention to ourselves. Can this be done anonymously?

Have you got other team costs rolled over from before that you want to pay off before you divided the plunder? Yes! Stand by please.

Okay I sorta lost track already of the gp:s. OM, maybe you can summarize what each person gets in the end?

Gerdal takes the other three aside at some occasion.

"So, what do you think about Drew? I mean he is...loyal...for now. Do we want him to join our next trek? I guess so? Maybe we can throw in a small part of the yields for him? It doesn't even need to be half a share as far as I'm concerned since he is a porter more or less. But somehting."

Yes, I will definitely do a final tally once everything gets worked out.

Sven nods emphatically.

“Yes, of course Gerdal. I would be happy to give him something from this trip too, for that matter.”

“As far as him joining, I will leave that up to you. If you think he will remain loyal to our cause after your enchantment wears thin, then I will trust your judgment. Perhaps there is a way to learn a bit more about him or his past before you decide?”

Gathering everyone around again, Sven lays out the latest info about the drake coins being worth more and how the value of the uncut gems we each received can be increased by the gem cutter in town. Then he goes back to work on his abacus, trying to evenly divide treasure six point five ways.

Tavern Hog Roasts are quite common for adventuring groups who have struck it rich, completed a successful quest or are just thankful to be alive so they won't draw any more attention than the usual local rumour mill or street gossip picked up when adventurers come back to the village bleeding out or laden with goods to hawk.

Isvand will be happy to fund the hog roast. Maybe he’ll get a chance to play his flute.

Orgoth

"I have info on the ingot."

As far as value, a 20lb gold ingot of similar size is worth around 100 gold but the added weight is six fold. Then take into account this is already imbued though those incantations will not actually manifest until it is smelted into shape, that will increase it further, perhaps to 3,000 gold?

Sven looks at the strange metal ingot again. "I think there is more value to this thing then we know. I don't think we should try to sell it outright just yet until we learn more about it."

"I will try to identify the cloak myself, if nobody objects, before we decide on its new owner."

For PC sheets:
1-100gp uncut sapphire
1-uncut emerald (200-500gp value, must get each appraised)
69 Gold Drake coins (worth more than a common gold coin)
82gp each. (excluding the diamond, this leaves a surplus of 250gp to use for the next trip) [now +110 from recent sale of the two coffers and ink vials]

Magical Goblet/Evil's Spellbook= Gerdal
Scroll of Protection/large iron mace/thieves tools/silver tipped arrows= Isvand
Magic Ingot=Orgoth
Nergal storybook/unknown key/normal scroll tubes= Sven
Truro/Amos=Priests garb?
Gold Ring/P-Healing= Klepto Gnomes
Magical cloak will still need to be identified before we decide who it should go to?

The Math:

The loose coins we found (102gp total) were already divided up, so the four PC's should have received 16gp each. (half shares for the gnomes and Truro)

Each of us have also been given 1 uncut emerald and 1 uncut (100gp) sapphire each. (the emeralds have varying values so you should get them appraised individually)

My math was a bit off on the Gold Drakes. Everyone will get 69 of those. (69x5 =345 and 3 half shares of 35=105) These are closer to the value of a PP, but probably not around the Helix area. (If anyone would rather have a normal gold piece for theirs, please trade them with Sven instead of spending them at the tavern.)

Sven got a very low appraisal roll for the diamond, so that will still need to be sorted out. (Unless everyone agrees that 3,000gp is enough and we should take the deal.)

We received 800gp for the remainder of the sapphires, the candlestick, and the pair of gold rings. Sven would like to keep the 120gp silver circlet as a memento, unless anyone objects, taking that total from the money he is owed for financing the trip. (241gp-120= 121gp still on the tab)

So when we subtract the remaining debt of 121gp from the 800, we get 679gp to split up. I suggest we keep some of that in a kitty to finance our next trip, so we don't have to go through all this debt recovery business next time. A 250gp kitty would leave 429gp to split up. (429/13=33) So the four of us and Amos would get 66gp each. (33 for half shares)

We still have:
4 vials of unholy water
Parchment, bone fragments, and other items from the Nergal crew
If there is any value to any of this, it can be divided equally once we get the items sorted out.

Do we want to discuss the financing of the feast and bard song together? (and a little something for Drew?) Sven will take every XP he can get at this point.

Does anyone see anything I missed or got wrong?

just as a note, the difference between holy and unholy water is that the former works vs undead and the latter includes vs paladins.
Gold Ring/P-Healing= Klepto Gnomes
do you have these to divide or you are just allocating them in absentia.

More info on the ingot, maybe make it into magic armor?

Karl Barrelgut considers the question. "There are those who may seek to acquire such ingots for their own strategic purposes. But the dwarf forge has no grander ambitions than serve the community and keep the Hearth-Forge fires tendered." He refers to the fact that dwarven Moradin worship takes place around the forge. "I can make enquiries and get back to you at the tavern should a prospective buyer express interest and we can smooth any transaction.

Alternatively you could consider smelting the ingot and adding it's qualities into your own personal gear. A broadsword with some traits to accompany your shiny spear or some dwarven chain, robust and unbreakable?"

Can you tell I am still upset about their rotten thievery?

That was really meant as a joke, so I will come up with something legitimate for them eventually.

Sven takes a look through the second tome they found on the dead she-elf, using his magic reading skills in the process.

When he looks up again he appears a bit frightened, but mostly disappointed.

"This doesn't appear to contain arcane spells at all. At least not in a traditional sense. It is more related to stuff about Nergal though, so maybe there is still some value to it. I think it will take a good deal of study to learn anything from it. But that means more precious time away from our dungeon exploration. There is never enough time in the day, am I right?"

Listening to Orgoth talk about the metal ingot, he opines.

"If the metal can be formed into anything you want, it would seem that you have a choice to make big guy."

"I wonder if you could have an animated weapon made from it. One that could attack on its own, like an automaton or something."

Sven

"I am still working on that diamond, so hopefully there will be another decent pay out here soon."

"And don't forget about our tapestry. That should bring in a nice chunk of coin once we find the right buyer."

"I guess we will just have to try to remain patient. Getting rich by exploring is taking a lot longer than it does in the story books."
He jokes.

I'm good with growing the party's reserve/bank. Isvand would like the 10 silver tipped arrows, and is happy to reduce his share 10 gp (PHB price is 1 gp per). I think the cloak should definitely be identified before being apportioned.

Okay so complete map updated a few posts up.

I will post for Gerdal in ~3 hours.

Here's a zoomed in map on the last rooms we visited. There's the lever and the hanged guy in the other room.
