Great. Golgarth can make a post in the tavern thread or chapel thread dated May 17th.
I am cool with that. In character I am going to be physically still recuperating until then while the current expeditions adventure and return. So I will wait for guys to post in the tavern and mingle again with them once they come back to town.

I guess whilst I am 'walking wounded' I could still research stuff around town like find out more of Alastar's backstory, visit the village water cisterns, get Silvine to create little 'thank you' gifts for those who brought me back and also drink a little at the poker tables in the taverns?

You know that is just a great attitude to have when your character is sidelined from action for a little while. To invest in your character and the game in different ways instead of throwing a dummy out. Actually you will only have a couple of days as 'walking wounded', subject to you casting Cure Light Wounds upon yourself but you can detail any research you want to do with respect to Cromm Cruach in your thread.

Unless new players become active, I actually don't expect more new expeditions to start until the New Year as posting tends to slow during festive seasons.

Golgarth & Guntar plan to scout Bogtown, primarily for news on the old Cromm Cruach cleric who formerly pastored in Helix.

So a short trip, just to get exploring and hopefully not too much over our heads in danger or disaster ... ....

Looking at the Map, Bogtown is about a week trip for a caravan on a crappy road including crossing the bridge. It's basically all the way back to Iron Motte then south again to Bog Town. I'm hoping the normal caravan guard is decently sized and our group is just part of their normal defenses. Just four or five guards is probably too few for a dangerous road.

The map in the Campaign Setting thread shoes the trail Helix to Bogtown via Dwarf Bridge is about 30 miles, each hex is 5 miles side to side. So a wagon would take just a day. If it takes five, we are lost.

I guess it depends on the condition of the road and the terrain.
The Caravans follow a route tat exchanges goods between Helix, Ironguard Motte, and Bogtown. The road between these locations is little more than a perilous dirty trail and caravans are forced to move slowly.
A caravan is going to move slower than a regular party so was estimating a hex a day moving carefully on a bad road. Outriders, scouting ambush spots, etc. If the terrain/road is better than I thought we’ll make better time for sure. I agree it’s not far but maybe Spearmint can weigh in here.

Certainly expect 30+ miles to travel and a long trek if walking. Environmental and circumstancial conditions will obviously add to that via encounters, wagon wheel breaking, diversions and player decisions.

On a good day, unharassed and less encumbered, a party could trek Helix-Bogtown in 12 hours.

When you conclude you village roleplay, I will open an expedition thread.

Great. There is no hurry from me, I am ready when you post the thread. If Gunter wants to take a few days to roleplay earning some extra bonus on behalf of the Silver Standard, that is fine with me. Might be a good idea and he could earn some kind of better future relations with the outfit.

Gerdal is considering a trek to the Riverbanks to inquire for pearls. How far is that?
The Clam fishers trawl the Moorwash riverbank from the Old Dwarf Bridge downstream past the ruined Outlook and towards the confluence where the river splits into seperate streams as it drains out in to the Moor.

The area is considered unsafe. The north bank is used for hunting and foraging by rangers but the south bank is considered lizardman or bullywug territory.

It is several miles from Helix.

Moriartus is planning an expedition to the barrow meadow. Mission has two objectives, to excavate a caved-in room of a recently explored burial mound in search of a suspected secret chamber, and scouting for the location of a harpy nest also suspected to be located somewhere in the meadow.

Remember folk can use the Bulletin Board to advertise their availability or skills or just put a shout-out here to provoke interest from other players.

So 'hey, I am recruiting for a wilderness trek to solve the snake-men problem' or 'I am looking to go to the barrows, who wants to join me', 'guys I can trade this item but I would like such a thing in return', etc.

Remember too, folk returning to town can indulge themselves with grandiose blagging, get the bard to sing in their favour, contribute to local charities, craft personal tokens or offer tributes to others. All such actions give you a few extra previous xp!

So I have the basics for some next steps.

Raust with Venwynn (the ranger in the tavern), Traeliorn, Gerdal and Isvand with Marcel (cleric of St Ygg npc) forming a group to go investigate the Snake-men problem'who attacked the Herne Shrine and logging camp.

Sven, Orgoth, (cleric Amos npc), Moriartus, Dougal, Cadeweed, Durgo, Fydmar (cleric Two-Birds?) going to sell merchandise and research in Ironguard Motte.

Dalin (+Two-Birds?) possibly travelling (with Crabtree?) to Crooked Yew.

any other considerations?

The druid Dalin was thinking of is the one he met at Bog Town so not sure where the idea of travelling (with Crabtree?) to Crooked Yew came from.
