Avastan: Planetfall

Gaughan simply replies "Sir!" and with a salute departs for the crew deck calling for a medic. The G Carrier with the onboard rangers dressed in oversize ponchos and greatcoats lifts and rotates taxing slowly to exit the trader's front cargo door around the "wall of stores".
(OOC: This door is the one with the vision blocking pile of stores).

Prerna
Liv switches to targetting Jones at his new position by the stairs. She raises her automatic and engages him as he steps out to engage her. He first round embeds itself in the stairs but her second takes him through the thigh and Jones collapses into a rapidly spreading pool of his own blood. Liv then mutters “Dammit...” and falls forward onto the dining table partially catching herself but then falling to the floor.
Prerna fires twice more at Whitfield. Her first round goes by his ear and into the booth wall. The cadaverous Whitfield smiles and extends his aim starting “Well now, missy...” He screams as his wrist violently dislocates and then Prerna corrects her aim and punches a 9mm round clean through his vest. Whitfield falls on his face.
Jones states “The Secretary was right. This place is a seething pit of traitors and Outworld degenerates!” He appears none the worse for Liv's round through his femoral artery and, apart from the torn and bloodstained pants, appears entirely unwounded. He is also armed and aiming an automatic at the only other person left standing in the booth - Prerna.

Freya (and Frank by proximity)
Freya detects a rapid increase in encrypted radio chatter from the Scout base and very shortly a light enclosed air raft (equivalent to a half sized G Carrier so max 6 occupants) scrambles from that facility heading for the city centre. It is flying a "fast" aircraft path and not even attempting to blend with local traffic.
The Starport local air controllers are hugely pissed off and are demanding it log a flight plan and speak to them on the "Guard" channel.
And … because she's really good at what she does Freya also detects and then retro decrypts:
“Hawkeye to One. Air threat. Grav inbound to your pos. No active PD, no jamming. I have nav radar ID and lock. Package for Kestrel. Update: no more on the firefight”.
“One. Copy both. Client is rated for that. Standby on the inbound”. Then “Kestrel has good tone and is tracking”.
“Copy Two. Security moving inside at front of house”.

Florence - Raise Sgt Gaughin and warn him
Doughal - See if you can get that drone somewhere where it can get a link to the team
Dylan - Out of your rack and get a comms relay drone up so we can daisy-chain to the party-team.
Camp Freddie - Something warm and drinkable for all of us please
Freya then spends a moment looking for the Hawkeye and Kestrel in the "War Weekly" Encyclopaedia of military equipment. That Kestrel sounds like a ground to air system! Hawkeye sounds like an airborne EW system
And then she gets onto the sensors and starts seeing what she can get from the direction-finding systems

Re: Avastan: Planetfall
Frank and Freya
Florence reports "Sergeant Gaughan is grateful for the heads up. He states he's blending with the local traffic but will therefore be slower than the inbound grav vehicle from the Scout base. He says he can race it but that will be obvious and trigger local air traffic control".
Dougal reports "I'll have line of sight soon for lascomms. As soon as the team come outside we should pick them up but Avastan's dirty snow might well be a problem even if we get close".
Dylan sets to prepping an additional drone reporting ten minutes to launch.
Camp Freddie makes (good) tea.
Freya gets nothing immediately from her passive sensors - but there was a bit of interference. This is no real surprise as the city centre produces a lot of clutter. She could irradiate the locality with her ship's active sensors but that would be incredibly “loud”. However, she can continue to monitor the relevant area.
From both her scout experience and knowledge of interstellar comms traffic the language used in her intercept seems “non indigenous (military)” and she believes Hawkeye is a call-sign.
Following her hunch Freya looks up Kestrel as a ground to air system. She finds something that was not readily available. Kestrel is a long range (~30 km) high speed anti air missile from Killit Missiles Series 20 “Raptor” Missile System. The system is available in various mountings and configurations in either ground, vehicle or air mounts or (unusually for a 30kg missile) in disposable launchers. The system's selling point is its highly sophisticated on board acquisition and guidance systems. The rest of the “family” include Falcon (high agility, med range) and Hawk. Hawk, with much reduced range (~4km), is capable of defeating starship armour per favour of an IR tracking "piggy back" launch. All Raptor missiles are capable of being delivered to target in either homing mode or via ladar or laser guidance.
Killit Missiles are a boutique arms manufacturer (owned by LSP) operating an office in Glisten City, Glisten. Dealings by appointment only. No contact options are provided.

Re: Avastan: Planetfall
OK - Florence - let the Sarge know that there is almost certainly someone out there with a ground to air missile system. He'd better keep his head down - if he gets blown up, Jess will probably kill him.
Dylan, let me know when that drone is ready. And Dougal, please try and keep that drone alive. That ground to air system may be anti-drone too. Overkill but who knows.
She also notes that they need drones in pairs - one up and one on the pad - in future! You learn and hope everyone lives!
Colonel - If that is an anti-air system why use a 30km range weapon in a snowstorm in almost zero visibility? They must be up-close and almost personal to get an IR signal to lock onto their target. Unless they are targeting a starship. She quickly checks with the bridge whether the ships point-defences are "On".

Prerna, Jess and Kit
Jones seems to suffer some sort of morale issue and/or lose his marbles as he rants at Prerna “It's you!!!” He then takes to staring about the booth shouting “I know you're here!!!” Then “Ohhhh, fuuuu...”
He continues on with his manic behaviour now swiftly switching to Kit and Jess as he sees them to scream “Help me!!! I'm an Imperial agent. There's a reward - we can...” He then apparently he changes his mind again and swings his his pistol up towards Jess whilst maniacally screaming “Nooo!”
"Fekkin' Cadburys!" Sugar's adoption of the isosceles stance risks a pressure related wardrobe malfunction but doesn't affect her aim as she blows a chunk out of Jones' left arm. Jess' burst then hits him in the guts but is caught by his armour. Nevertheless the absorbed kinetic energy rocks him forwards just as Kit's well placed shot lets Jones know what happens when the bullet hits the bone. Jones sits down hard in a fountain of arterial spray and flops onto his back with an open fracture to his right femur.
Realising his partner has dropped back Kit notices Polly freeing the chain of her arcane weapon from about the lower legs of another torn up and exsanguinating pirate who looks like he's been run over by some crazed horticultural machine. She gives him a bright smile and a guilelessly girly wave.
(OOC:

Jess smiles at Sugar: Nice shot. Not just a pretty... face, are yer? Cover me, I'm goin' fer our casualties.
Looking over the scene Jess moves to Liv and X-Ray to triage them. Having decided which needs treatment first, she plumps her bag and gun down, fishes out her first aid kit, and begins to work.

All in Club Zoo
Returning from the back of the booth Prerna sees that the wound she put in Jebediah Slow's left shoulder has stopped bleeding although he remains unconscious. Meanwhile Mercy Whitfield has a number of lesser injuries but is likewise knocked out.
Jess diagnoses Liv as likely having overdosed on “Velocity” (a dangerous recreational stimulant)... and also on a military grade (near lethal) dose of Tranq. This is based on her medical findings, the two cracked open snorting vials lying on the table top (plus another in her clutch bag) and her two “micro GSWs” from two tiny needle-like projectiles. Drawing some of the unit pay as SuSAG pharma has benefits as a dose of factory grade Universal Anti Toxin restores Liv's vitals to something resembling normal and Liv herself to a rather incoherent state of semi consciousness. X Ray has the same needle wound as Liv (but only a single dose) and a dose of Anti Toxin also brings him round to a rather dazed "walking wounded" status*.
Covering the two unconscious Marshals Sugar kicks Whitfield's black bag over towards Jess “Here! Looks like this guy's their medic... oh, lawks!” As the bag falls open the contents look mostly surgical but somehow not at all medical.
Providing cover at the front/stage side of the booth Kit finds there is still enough elevation to allow him to notice two pairs of suited security men making their way towards the back of the club through the bewildered throng in the adjacent bar. Looks like at least two have a carbine or SMG.
(OOC for Jess: * Trying to treat rather than wipe out his condition would have required more time and medic rolls rather than banging in a dose via the autoinjector).

Prerna somehow resists her primal urge to destroy the "marshals", and she holsters her weapon. "We have two prisoners and two wounded to evac," she says over the command net. "I also need two sets of restraints."Tiglath wrote: ↑Wed Dec 15, 2021 7:52 pm All in Club Zoo

Prerna (and all in the booth)
A relieved Sugar gives Prerna a wary "Ma'am" as she rolls the Marshals over and searches them. She asks "Ma'am do you want their gear bringin' along?" Both Marshals have blades and holdout weapons as well as their sidearms (including the "needle gun") all of which have been taken from them. Rather conveniently the also carry standard restraints which are put to ironic use securing the Marshals.
X Ray manages to gather his wits sufficiently to search loot Jones' gear. The baffled merc finds a bizarre high tech collar with low tech internal spikes and matching rigid cuffs with the whole get up linked to a psi shield. Sugar comments "Whatever my agent says that's a holo I ain't gonna be in".

Where's the third guy? Goin' ter be trouble enough gettin' out as it is, without some bushwhacker lookin' ter rescue 'is oppo's.
