To use the Charging Rule requires an extra action. Since Podo has only one action die, he may move & charge but the attack will take place in the next round.

Example: Kurot with three action die could move, charge and make two attacks using the Charging Rule in the same round.

Sounds good, I wasn't sure what the distance was. In the wording it doesn't specify whether it is a movement action (pg77) or an action die action. Some of the things you can do like draw a weapon, equip a shield, or open a door can be combined with the movement action (pg 78). I was thinking the rushing of using half your movement constituted the charge and you would still have your action die action left after that. Many of the rules are subjective though lol.

Converting a movement or partial movement to an action is not allowed. Otherwise, characters in melee would simply give up a move to have another action (attack) which is clearly not what the authors intended.

Yep I agree 100%, I wasn't trying to convert it, just had always seen as part of a movement action and not a separate action. I am 100% okay with how you adjudicate it, just a tiny learning curve.

I can’t believe I don’t know this (although I can believe that you told me and I forgot), but does Kurot sleep? I’m not sure whether he’s in a state where I can post an action for him right now.

At any rate, I’d like to have him self-repair. If it’s possible to backdate that to when it would have happened had I been keeping up with the action better, great, otherwise I’ll post it at earliest opportunity.

Kurot does "Sleep" (think of computer sleep mode), so concerning actions its the equivalent of biological sleep.
