Urlando
It looked like there was moving liquid or something in that portal in the wall here. That's gotta be water. I don't know what we do with that, man. Maybe if we break a hole in the water tube we can cut the energy out from this place.

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Have the electrical emissions in the other room increased in intensity at all or have the lights changed colors anymore?
Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Silvestri
"If these devices control half of the water that is used to generate the lightning, then if I turn it off then maybe it will help. It might weaken the light curtains. We could then go looking for the controls for the other water system, if we turn them both off then maybe the whole structure will turn off"

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Denslow muses, Perhaps we can control the lightning, direct it to split their trunks. Not my thing, but perhaps you could do it.
Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
The discussion about the flow control continues along with watch and rest scheduling. Various ideas about what would result from shutting off one or both water loops are discussed. Perhaps this is an indirect way to disable the light curtains?
Breaching the glass wall port is also suggested and speculation about controlling the tower lightning is offered up for debate.
Through all of this, no observable change in the tower discharges or the orange wall light is noticed.

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Saiph has been resting while the others guard or examine
"I don't think we should stay any longer in case reinforcements arrive. With a bit of luck I think I may be able to destroy the light curtain keeping us in here"

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Let’s do that, Max croaks. I need to get out of here.

Urlando
Urlando will examine the control panels, focusing with both heads, and attempt to find a way to discharge the water or stop its flow.
OOC: I'll roll an artifact check...

Needle
Needle takes advantage of the time the others spend in discussions to continue to catch his breath and rest as much as possible. Who knows what will happen next in this place?

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Silvestri points at one of the panels
"I can turn off part of the water system and cause a catastrophic failure. We probably don't want to be around for the results of that. Imagine firing a very big gun with a blocked barrel"

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
"Let's secure our escape route first and then see if we can still shut it down" Anton suggests.
"And, f we could acquire a cloak perhaps we could move more freely"

Silvestri and Urlando, please make a 1d20 Luck Check.
Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Podo
Yes an escape route sounds best before we possibly bring the building down on top of us but they sealed the destroyed wall that we entered. Even if we could get back through the light curtain, there was no where else to go. Something had to bring me here. Somewhere there has to be another exit. I think we should continue circling the center tower and see what lies beyond the other corridors. If we can find a small room to secure ourselves in we can let Max get some rest.
Podo momentarily considers smashing a hole in the tube to allow him to sink back into the comfort of the underground depths but then thinks better of it. He takes up a defensive position at the hallway entrance.

Kurot continues to stick with the others and keep an eye out for the next attack wave.

Fortress Interior 346D/81 (Evening)
As the discussion continues about the next course of action, Urlando steps up to the wall panels and attempts to interface with the controls. His twin heads endeavor to observe the reaction to his manipulations, but the images shudder and disappear with a >SNAP!< and jolt him with a shock! The rat-man’s right arm tingles with numbness (DMG 3).
(Artifact Check roll (15) minus Complexity Modifier (8) = 7: Artifact breaks irreparably and inflicts 1d3 damage to user.) Urlando’s Luck roll was less than Silvestri’s, so his actions went first.
The illuminate band on the walls changes to a pulsing red, and your anticipation for an encounter is palpable.

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Max perks up. Well, it ain't just me... he mumbles and slumps back down.
Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Denslow says, The pulsing red does not mean ripe for the picking, I take it. We should be ready for the floating things again.
Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Silvestri looks at the red lighting
"We should leave, and I think we should do so quickly. Saiph, lead the way"
