Nice out!  Cool and cloudy

Coming from Previous Thread:
viewtopic.php?p=559211#p559211

I usually try to keep the thread around 20 pages as per the Admin recommendation. The previous thread was almost 22 pages, and when I logged in this morning, I just couldn't find it:

Screenshot_20210925-095837_Samsung Internet.jpg (565.94 KiB) Viewed 1426 times
I am keeping this locked for the moment until I can get some stuff set up, I am going to have multiple new threads branching off this one to clean up some loose ends and help get everything back on track for a monothread soon. Not sure monothread is a proper term, but I am officially stating that it should be :) Anyway, I think this will help resolves some minor things that are hanging around right now outside the action and get things ready for the next phase.
Please post on the previous page what it is your character wants to do in the next say, three days. What goals and intentions do you have. Looking for quantity here, and I will work everything into linking up the stories we have going on as well as what I am about to set up for your characters before we push forward. I still expect this will take some time, but will be the most effective way to wrap up this first part of the story.

Anyone can be a part of any thread branching from here no matter how many you are in. This is about tying up loose ends and getting things set for the next phase, so we are being a little loose with time but also I have tried to spread things out over a few days to make it all fit.

Lionel sends the other 'busters and Jared a text, letting them all know Slimmerman needs us there at 3pm for the commercial shoot. He then sheepishly approaches Julia. Uh, hey, Julia. How are you today? Hey, listen, so...I, uh, kinda...sorta...agreed to help pay for this commercial. Slimmerman had a number, and Jerad had a number... Anyway, they were a hundred dollars apart and I didn't catch it, but they both agreed to the deal so...can I please get a hundred dollars out of petty cash, please?
Julia looks up at Lionel, listening to his story. She makes a bit of a face but then shrugs. I suppose that is the kind of thing it is for, right? she goes back to a filing cabinet and takes out a locking hardbox, opens it, and takes out a $100 bill, handing it over to him. There you go. The good news is that is cash that is off the books, but we will need to put it back at some point if we want to keep the same kind of emergency fund on hand. That done, she returns to her work at her desk.

The phone rings and Julia answers. Old Fort Ghostbusters. Yes? Really? What time? This afternoon? Well, that might be a problem, the Jeep is in the shop getting repairs. Oh, you can? Yes, that would be great, thank you. About 5 o'clock? I will let them know. Thank you, Good Bye. Julia looks a little pale and looks up at whoever might be nearby before she pages the team to the Lobby.

Joker (Once the group is back at the firehouse)
I must tell you guys- I do not like the amount of control the Mayor is taking. Maybe I am too suspicious, but I feel like we could becoming his dirty tricks team. Are we not supposed to handle any and all threats to the public? Not just those that The Mayor deems worth our time?

That is the word I needed- corruption. And corruption like that is like quicksand- it is easy to get swallowed up in it. I hope that we have some way we can get free of this...

What do we and GBI actually owe the Mayor? It seems that clearing actual debt would be a good start.
Joker pauses, then his eyebrows rise. Has anyone done any investigating of the mayor? Does he possibly have a dark influence? Something... unnatural?

They guys are able to suit up and go make some happy Slimmerman's after shooting the commercial. They have fulfilled their part of the deal to get the Ecto-1 and have improved relations with the Slimmerman Family. Joker might even have a hot date coming up soon since he got Mona's digits. ;)

Later that day, the guys took a spooky drive over to the Mayor's office after hours for what seemed an ominous visit and turned into a surprise to find out he was happy with their "work" at 601 N. E St. Come to find out, they might well have taken out a comparator and opened the door for him to buy a property he is interested in. And then were called in for a somewhat creepy but informative conversation with the same witches the mayor just advised them to steer clear of. To top it off, they learned something interesting about Julia and her after-work activities.

Roy deals with the Jeep repairs and manages to find out they are insured through the city. The mayor also said he would be helping take care of the body repairs... does he have something up his sleeve? Roy also manages to find a replacement vehicle while the Ecto is being repaired, so they still have a set of wheels for now.

Joker & Roy had a big success on the new Field Generator! Their call from GBI about their latest design was.... interesting? Jeremy Spangler is certainly a character... Pun most certainly intended. He promised to compensate the team for the equipment they lost in making the device once it was explained how it was done. He seemed very entertained. What was that all about at the end of the call though between him and Veronica?

Jason went to check in with Dr. Burkley following their missed appointment. They had a conversation about ghost and what they could mean scientifically. Turns out the Dr. has some ideas of his own. Jason also learned some workable theories about tuning into an entities specific frequency that he realized later would work with the information gained from Kelly and Otto.

Sunday night rolls around after a day of rest and everyone on the team feels refreshed. It has been the first slow day with no emergencies they have had in quite some time and everyone finally feels fully recovered from the job at 601.

Just as the sun has fully set and the stars are out, and likely there are thoughts of bedding down for the night soon, Lionel received a text from Jamie to turn on the TV.

Joker
Joker forced himself to leave the electronics lab, reminding himself that even geniuses need downtime. He pulled out his phone, and was in the middle of dialing Mona Slimmerman when her heard the bile pouring out of the television.
His face darkens with fury. Lanet olası keçiye tecavüz eden piç kurusu! Onu asılmış ve derisi yüzülmüş halde göreceğim! Balık gibi boğazlanmış!
He stops then, taking a moment to get himself under control. Oddly he smiles. Maybe we should think good of this. If the iblis in the cross is saldıran us more straight, maybe her fears us- a bit.
He moves to Julia's side, placing a hand on her shoulder to try and comfort her.

Lionel "Freight Train" Williams

Lionel quickly goes to Julia and wraps her in his arms. Shhh. Hey, it'll be ok. We're not letting anyone harm you, he tells her softly. Ok. Here's what we're gonna do, he tells everyone in the room. You and I are going to your house. Pack anything you'll need for a week, you're gonna stay here. Any plants or pets that need attention, bring 'em. This just aired, so it'll take the yokels watching some time to do anything. If we're quick, maybe you're in and out before anyone arrives. If not, they'll have me to deal with. I don't think too many people are gonna think that's a good idea.

While we're gone, you guys set up somewhere for Julia to sleep. I don't care if you move bunks to the basement for us to sleep on while she gets our room or if you set her up on her own somewhere else or whatever- just make it happen.

He sends a quick text to Jamie. Thanks for the heads-up. Julia's a wreck and I can't blame her. He's gone too far.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Nice out!  Cool and cloudy

Julia eventually calms down and collects herself. She agrees to staying at the Firehouse though there is enough room and bunks where she can have a space of her own.

The guys are able to find her apartment at the college commons easily enough and pack her a bag. Surprisingly there are no crowds or trouble on this late Sunday night like they feared.

In fact, the night goes by quietly as one could ever expect.

The following morning Julia gets up as normal and quietly moved chairs in front of the shower area to go clean up etc, and comes out ready for work. She heads downstairs and makes coffee. It isn't as nice as what you normally get from the coffee house and this is the first day you are not starting with free pastries. Julia is quiet and apparently not wanting to go out right now. Eventually, she gets on the intercom for the wake-up call like normal though she doesn't sound like herself.

Julia It's 8 o'clock, guys.

Apparently... that was it.

Okay, so just keeping things moving. Let me know what it is you are wanting to do and I will work with you as possible. I am feeling better, so will be posting again. I did start classes again last week so I am going to be a little busy again plus I am back to work tomorrow, but no worries. Thanks as always for being patient with me!

Roy after his morning "things" goes downstairs dressed in jeans and a t-shirt with some sort of game reference on it, and fetches his usual coffee and some sort of pastry. But unlike normal he locates Julia and tries his best to comfort her. "Hey Julia you alright? I can't believe the gall of that man... you know it's all lies I'm sorry I wish I could do something more about it right now...hmm how about we trash the guy on social media? Nah that would be stooping to his level besides we learned something about the bloke. He's apparently under some powerful otherworldly influences so it isn't coming from the man himself...well I don't know how this is supposed to make you feel better sorry Julia. There anything I can get for ya or help ya with? Oh and you have some amazin driving skills by the way. Caught yer little race last night. " he says trying to put something positive in there and adding his goofy smile hair still a bit of a tussled mess you know good ol' Roy.
