Moriartus
May 2nd

Moriartus enters the Brazen Strumpet and walks directly to the bar. If he was cognizant of other patrons, his eyes betray no hint that he even acknowledges their presence. He quietly arranges premier accommodations. "That comes with the complimentary wine?" He asks to confirm the included amenities. "Very well. I will take a bottle now, please." With that and still no indication that anyone else occupied the room, he plods upstairs to his room.

-9gp, -90sp for 9 days accommodation.

Dougal

Enters the tavern, his clothes and boots dirty and worn from traveling in the wilderness. He spends his last coins in accommodation for several days in the common room.

9 days in the common room = 27sp. 2gp and 7sp deducted.

"Master Moriartus. Since there's not much I can dae aroond here in the sae-called civilized areas, ye can caunt on me for ony expedition ye might want tae arrange. My tracking skills are at yer disposal."

"We already split the beads obtained from the bugbears. Sixteen per share. Those are actually uncut gems, albeit of minimal value. The money lender in town trades in gems and offers a fair price. Although, not as much as you could get in Ironguard Motte. We also have the alpha owlwolf pelt. We can visit the farrier together. You have far more knowledge than I on the value of pelts, though. I can lead the negotiation based on your advice."

Sorry, I edited my post based on the last thing Spearmint said in the quest thread (reiterating that we had 16 gems each, etc)

May 2nd 1066

Barba, Dougal and Moriartus return to the settlement and tavern. They order ales and food and cater their accommodations for the next week or so.

Continue chit chat between characters in the tavern and I will update the thread here with a soirée on the evening of May 9th.

You can post your being in the tavern on a particular day and I will add some patrons you can mingle with.

Golgarth

Is in the tavern every evening from the return of the Spider Silk trip to whenever he leaves on another trio. He has paid lodging until the 10th.

Seeing newcomers, adventurers rather than village patrons, he will greet them and ask about their recent travels as a way to gather/share rumours and possible invite others to join the potential Foxrell (Lizardman) expedition.

I also want to talk with Alastar, trying to ascertain a bit more truth about him. He is one of the few known survivors of being in the Barrowmaze. I wonder if he had contact with the lizard men tomb?

Cosmo

stays close to / follows Golgarth (provided he's not obviously irritated with this) to hear what he finds out during his queries.

Dougal

Spends the good part of nine days in the tavern, drinking the cheapest brew he can afford. He has paid lodgings until the 10th, so any interaction with those present during that period is possible.

The ranger, red bearded, dressed with practical and weather worn travel clothes that also facilitate him to relatively camouflage in the wilderness, approaches Golgarth and Cosmo and bows slightly to the human cleric and the gnome mage.

"Good evening good sirs. My naim's Dougal. Excuse me for asking, but ye look the adventuirer or mercenary taip. Are ye perhaps thinking for a forreh* somewhere in the wilderness or elsewhere in the coming dehs? I happen tae be avehlable if ye need someun' who does the scooting and exploring."

Golgarth

Invites Cosmo to come and 'interview' the village fool, Alastar who seems to spend his days, begging from with s tin cup and drooling like a mad man.

But I believe that Cosmo last time saw that the man had a tattooed map on his derriere and I wonder if it actually is a proper treasure map of the Barrow Maze.

When the ranger Dougal introduces himself, he welcomes him.

"Aye. I would be considering such skills. They are in need for I understand few men in these parts are proper trackers. Sure the mercenary guild hires torchbearers to walk the paths to the mounds but beyond the Moor or even getting lost in the mist, can be dangerous territory."

The priest shares with him that he is considering joining a team that would investigate a 'sacred lizard man tomb' or if that doesn't materialise, he may just gather a crew and go check the mounds himself.

Hence any map, even traced from the backside of an imbecile might actually be a lifesaver.

"Cosmo. Do you reckon we can convince Alastar to get in a tub. We then copy the tattoos as he bathes?"

Dougal

"Eether option saunds good tae me. I came back frae my last mission with a warrior and a mage who's very intelligent and organised everything. I would like tae weet for him here. I hoop he'll want tae come along or perhaps he has a different idea.

I'll weet for him first if ye don't maind."

When they start talking about Alastar's tattoos, the ranger looks baffled. He goes and sits at a table and will eat a hot soup and a cheap beer.

4sp deducted from character sheet.

Alastar's tattoos came from this scene
The Brazen Strumpet Tavern

Outside on the verandah, the trio assess how much practical help they can be to the village madman. Declining to give the beggar his helm, Sir Dewey offers instead a helping hand but Alastar just gives him the licked clean plated to take away. He then promptly stands up in a corner, drops his trousers and having no pot to piss in, urinates a stream of yellow up the wall.

Cosmo Snag has been trying to study the man's tattoos. The one on his shoulder could be a stylised fighting lion pose, often seen as crests upon shields. However what startles you is that, at face level to the bare bum cheeks of the foul mannered imbecile, you see the dark square patterns of a rudimentary map. An $ shape familiar to cartographers 'secret doors', a room, a statue, a side passage, a back passage and a sphincter shaped well.

Golgarth

"I am sure Bollo wouldn't mind if he was cleaned up a bit. Give him some new clothes and shoes, haircut? So the hypnotise sounds good. Take him up the back stairs and into the bathrooms."

He talks plans with the gnome.

To Dougal, "Sure, check in with your mage friend. I have seen your notice on the bulletin board so will come to find you if things develope."

Fydmar
Entering the Brazen Strumpet is a long brown haired & bearded dwarf with light green eyes and lightly tanned skin, which is evident as he lets down the cowl of his cloak upon entering the tavern. He has a nimble step despite his stout dwarven appearance. He will meander slowly (so to catch a bit of some of the patrons' conversations) to the bar and order a mead -3sp
OOC: don't know if I can assume he overhears the conversations posted here or not

"A'rait. I haup he shoos up soon." He looks at them briefly as they discuss their plans with the village's fool. "Ach. Nae I understand whai ye're daing what ye're daing." He seems to have an instant of interest and then goes back to his beer.

After a couple of days, Mai is seen speaking with a rough- looking man. Next morning, she leaves, escorting a group of heavily loaded wagons and pack animals.
