Needle
Needle will also try and assist his nearby companion Urlando with an axe swing at the light creature.
His mind seems to be muddled and he's slow to respond and finding it difficult to get in a solid swing...

Round 2

The photonic bugs are too quick and strike first, again!
Max receives two more discharges (DMG 8+4 = 12) and is rendered unconscious! (0 hit points and “bleeding out”)
The entity on Urlando >SNAPS!< him with two strikes (DMG 3+5 = 8), but rat-man absorbs the hit with ease!
Podo bears the brunt of a double attack (DMG 7+5=12), absorbed by his fungal hide!
Denslow’s bark carapace deflects most of his opponent’s second attack! (DMG 1)
Anton somehow predicts his attacker’s intent and dodges to avoid the second wave! (Miss)
---
Saiph scrambles along and takes advantage of the battle chaos to follow one of the cloaked humanoids as it moves out of the large tower chamber.
Silvestri moves to Urlando’s assistance and slashes at the light creature but aims short! (Miss)
Podo is confident he will dispatch his opponents but cannot find its vulnerability! (Miss)
Urlando’s attention, divided among friend and foe, forces him to release his hostage and wildly swing at the purple floater. His Morningstar arcs harmlessly through the energy construct. (Miss)
Denslow silently hacks up and through his adversary with his Pigmonn svetlegk, shredding it into a cascade of sparks! (7pt. dmg)
Needle tries to assist Urlando but his focus seems clouded, causing him to hesitate and miss the swing. (Miss)
Kurot relieves Anton of danger by disintegrating the magical insect with his axe! (9pt. dmg)
Each remaining attacker has consumed two more pairs of extremities.

Re: CHAPTER 12a: The Fortress of the Plain
Denslow looks about for another enemy and sees Max lying unconscious. Maybe dead. He considers tossing an apple that way, but decides against potentially hitting the poor, stupid human.
The tree-plantient lumbers across the room and prepares to strike.
In case he can close the distance...
Denslow Svetlegk initative [1d20-4]=7-4=3
Denslow Svetlegk attack [1d20+3]=8+3=11, dmg [1d10]=9

Silvestri has another go at attacking the light creature:

Podo
Turning to face the last shocking menace Podo sees Max's body stiffen after being struck by multiple assailants. Noticing Denslow leaning forward to rush to his aid, Podo tries to step between Denslow and the remaining attacker to give him some cover. He levels his spear and thrusts angrily:
Initiative: [1d20+1]=20+1=21
Spear attack: [1d20+4]=2+4=6 Spear damage: [1d5+4]=1+4=5

Saiph
Distracted by the purple creature, Saiph realises that the cloaked humanoid has slipped through the light curtain without him. He silently curses himself and takes a look around. Remembering what happened to Podo when he touched the curtain, he decides not to try without a cloaked chaperone and instead heads over to Kurot and Anton.

The psion realises that he can hear himself think in this room.
"Where are the others?" he says to Needle and Urlando.
Despite the attraction of all the ancient devices he turns and heads back down the corridor to find the others.

Turning to leave the corridor the diminutive humanoid spots the cloaked figure heading his way. He changes his plans and hugs the wall, hoping not to be noticed and ready to slip through the curtain in the wake of the approaching figure
thanks
