Works for me. :D

The Princess

"Well. That was something. Ah! Ladies. Good to see you again. And I don't believe I've met your new friend." The Princess bows and greets the barbarian.

"For those who don't know me, I am Princess Bonalure Summerstars..." She stops short and shakes her head. "That's fine for now."

"A few other adventurers and some workers came over the river to see if we could get a settlement started over where the land is better. Marge is even here. The cave has been cleared, kinda, and some shelters are being made. We need to establish more shelters, clear some land, and get some food. The Mayor is off with my sister, trying to play nice with the Natives and there is talk of going to scout the dwarves in the morning."

Wake introduces himself, "Hi, my name is Wake, a priest of Phyton, welcome to Clifftown. Since the Princess knows you that is good enough for me."

Keyon

The airborne pirate cruises to a stop and bounds energetically from the flying carpet to land with a flourish among the adventurers gathered in Clifftown. "Well, hello. It seems the island is infested with lovely ladies now. Perhaps I'm not in such a hurry to leave, after all."

Sir William Narramore

The knight's eyes narrow slightly at Keyon's antics, but he says nothing. "Welcome," he says to the others. "We hope to carve out a new home here. I am Sir William Narramore, Paladin of Heironeous."

Elnaerel

The petite elven cleric swipes her gaze at everyone.

"Hello. I've met almost all of you. Except you two." She nods at Luther and Wake. "It's a pleasure." A faint smile crosses her face. "I'm Elnaerel. Priestess of Ehlenestra, the Lady of the Forest." But her smile gets warmer when she addresses The Princess. "It's pleasure to meet you again, Your Highness. And you too, Sir Narramore. We had a long trip and two of our companions fell... There's a lonely tower very far from here, on the cliffs. In its basement abodes a spirit of evil, one Assamuk. It drained the life force from Max and Gnodric, Feanol's cousin. We couldn't do anything for them.

And it's there also where the valiant Keyon got the magic carpet we've used on our way back. Apparently the place is as full of riches as of dangers.

But, tell me, Your Highness, what are you planning to do? Is there anything I, or we, can help you with? I see the town has moved. Is it because of the dwarves? It is obvious they can use a hand!"

No worries OM, I'm actually grateful our characters finally made it to town.

I'll also have Elnaerel look for any chance of buying a morningstar, wherever the general store might be found now .

The Princess

She moves to greet Elnaerel and starts to motion for a hug, but stops short and appears flustered. She settles for a half bow, half curtsy thing. "Good to see you both."

The Princess's eyes lower when she hears of Max's fate. "I'm sorry to hear that, and of your cousin, Feanol. Max and I started off rocky, but that is a horrible fate that I wouldn't wish for anyone. Assamuk, you say? And it's still there?"

"Another problem." She sighs. "But, yes. Right now we need to help get prepared for the night. We don't know how secure it is or what creatures roam the area." She answers the dwarven question. "Not an emergency, but the dwarves moved up the timeline. The beach was never a good area for a farming community, this area has much better soil. Most of the town is still back at the beach, and will probably stay until we get this area prepared.

She has resisted talking to the pirate on the carpet for too long and goes to inspect. Without going back and checking, let's say they haven't met. :D "Fascinating. A real flying carpet. Just like in the stories. You'll simply have to show me how it works sometime."

"For tonight, find a place to get settled, talk to Marge, and I'll herd these fighters to devise security. You'll have options in the morning if anyone wants new excitement. Our master wizard, Chauncey, is heading out."

I realize that the town situation is in shambles right now, and that posting rates for some of our usual group leaders has slowed lately, so I will add a list of possible avenues of adventure that anyone can use.

Options for Immediate adventure:

Join Grimm's group going out to be slaughtered by to spy on the dwarves for a second time with Chauncey and Wes. (high xp rewards but slightly slower posting rate)

Someone organize a group to go and explore the remainder of the jungle east of the river, north of the new town location, to make sure it is secure. (bug holes)

Go out to find more of those docile giant lizards the dwarves have been abusing and bring them in to aid in the new town development.

Try to find and slay Sigmund the Sea Monster on the beach to make the trail safer to travel?

Other random exploration?

I will add to this list as I think of possibilities, but feel free to suggest your own. Ask away if you have questions.

If nobody wants to try organizing a group, you can always stay in town to help out where you can, if that's what trips your trigger.

OM - Per the map link, the area to the east of the river, between the river and the cliffs is not fully explored. If this is correct, this seems to be an oversight that should be fixed if the town is being built here.

That is correct, it hasnt been fully explored. That's why I included it as an option in the possible adventure list. :D

Searching out and defeating the wasp-riders would make a good quest. If they find out the town is here, they'd be a real menace.

Feanol

"Princess it is good to see you again. Was my chest transported or left in Beachtown? We had come and explored this area and found it a probable town site, but when we returned everyone was gone except we few, and Max. Max had info on the tower we explored. Glad to see people are moving over here. Are the Dwarves becoming more of a problem?"

"Sir Narramore, it is very good to see you again. I hope all has been well with you."

She will also try to get with Darklin to do the spell share they had always talked about but never accomplished.

She will also feel out the party for how they want to go about drawing plaques for themselves and if they are going to want to share them with others?

Luther
(When whoever-it-was yelled "RUN!" Luther would likely have replied "Like Hells!" and done his best to protect the rear of the group as they withdrew- but would have stayed near the others.)

Luther smiles all over his homely face. Good to meet you all! I'm Luther Bruin.

When discussions of 'their next move' come up, Luther will ask if anyone wants to go along to fill in the blank spot on the map.

32 plaques remain in the box.

Most of them are one pick only. So if you aren't planning on allowing others to draw, that leaves Keg, Feanol, TK, and Elnaerel yet to choose. (with 28 unused plaques leftover)

The Princess

"The Dwarves haven't been too bothersome as yet. :? We just wanted to actually follow through with the plan. First steps, anyway. Your chest should still be back in town with everyone else." Help me out English teachers, what is it called when the audience knows more than the character? :D

She finds Marge and greets her. "Hi, Marge. Glad to see you over here to whip these boys into shape. I'd like to propose we set watch tonight, as we're not entirely confident of the security of the area yet. Any objections? Now that you have cleared out the cave a bit, we could use it as a fallback if needed."

"The Mayor went upriver to try and make friends with the locals, so I guess the council is in charge for now." She bows to the matriarch.

"That sounds like a good idea Luther. I think Feanol said they explored it some, maybe they'd be useful scouts? I would like to ask that you be back by nightfall to help guard the civilians who are laboring to make this place habitable."

Amun

Image below, carrying a gigantic sword, some daggers and a horn hanging from her neck.

"Greeting sister princess, this one is Amun. She thought herself abandoned on this island, but then she met cloud gnome and his clan, was attacked by wasps."

She seems to ponder for a while, perhaps on how to phrase things?

"Princess is of island? Or cast out of her land?"

The Knife

The Knife wanders up as Luther and the Princess are talking, munching on some trail rations. "Hello there! Luther isn't it? And you must be the Princess? Nice to meet you both. I'm The Knife. And so is he." He gives his customary touch-and-nod to the hilt of the curved blade at his waist.

"I've heard that you're looking for people to come with you into that". The Knife waves a piece of beef jerky at the jungle beyond the beach. "Count us in. We're down to our last day of rations. This would be a good chance to go hunting." The gnome looks up at Luther. "People tell us you're good at that".

The Knife turns to the Princess. "We were part of that group that went in there with Keg and Feanol and the others. It was brutal. Took us all day, hacking and chopping, just to go a couple of miles." He shakes his head sadly. "We won't be back by nightfall, we're afraid"..."What do you mean, 'You're never afraid'? It's a figure of speech, that's all. You already know that? Then why...Wait! Are you trying to say that I'm always afraid? You know, I should start chopping through undergrowth with you! See how you..." The Knife stops suddenly, then hisses "Shush! You're making us look bad!" He looks up at Luther.

"So.......when do we leave?"

Keyon

The elf looks to either side, gauging his companions. "I hear that we have a sea monster upon the trail. If there are any among you brave or foolish enough to lure him from the water, I will hover above the beast with three archers upon the carpet and rain arrows down upon it."

He grins at Amun. "Perhaps we should allow any who wish to draw a plaque now? They may die horribly...or gain some mighty weapon to aid us in our quest to civilized this place."

Keyon sends Elnaerel a glance. "We also found a mighty weapon of use against the undead. I used it to blast more than one to ashes, and it held at bay even Assamuk, though it didn't vanquish him as it did our lesser foes."

Sir William Narramore

"A force of cavalry mounted upon those giant lizards would provide a fierce quick reaction force to protect the new town and surrounding farms. I would like to cut a small herd and drive them here to an enclosure where we might tame and train the beasts. They seem even-tempered enough to serve as draft animals for farming and heavy transport, as well."

I'm happy to organize an expedition with either character. And if exploration closer to home is a higher priority right now, I'm happy for either/both of them to cast their lot with Luther and explore the immediate vicinity. Whatever sounds fun. Just putting options out there.

Wake

Wake responds to two different conversations:

"Keyon, if the offer stands I will take you up on drawing a plaque. I feel the luck flowing today."

"Luthor, I would love to join the group exploring the tip between the river and the cliffs. Given that it is mid-afternoon, I would assume that it would make sense to leave first thing in the morning - yes?"

Thanks!!!

So once we can find a place of leisure to draw plaques I will let all of us returnees go first. Lets roll D00 for order of draw.
