The Knife gives Darklin a thumbs up, then adds. "Stay in as much cover as you can. They might just be out hunting. Last two times they fought our group, they took losses for no reward. Maybe they gave up and just decided to look somewhere else." He tries to sound like he believes it.

After a moment The Knife adds: "Try to stay near a tree if you have to fight them. It'll make it harder for the wasps to get near you and drop a net over you."

Keyon and Feanol agree to continue along their route to retrieve the others, hoping that the pair they left behind will be able to fend for themselves. They reach the tower ruins again without incident, finding Keg and Elnaerel safe and sound, ready for their ride across the water on the flying rug.

TK and Darklin watch as the specks grow larger as they get closer. They find suitable trees to stand under to thwart the net casters, but that doesn't seem to deter the oncoming force. By the time they see the magic carpet reach the tower, the flying wasp riders are nearly upon them. There are 10 wasps in total, all of them carrying a rider toting 2 short javelins. Looking a bit worried about their odds, the hiding pair only have a few rounds to come up with a plan to fend off the much larger oncoming contingency.

Elnaerel jumps on the carpet, pretty excited for the ride but thinking about the two companions they've left, hoping they'll be well.

"Quickly. The wasps are coming!" He ushers the remaining two aboard, instructs them to grab hold, and immediately lifts off to return to their companions.

Keg hurries onto the carpet and gets his bow ready. Charge!

Remains hidden and out of sight keeping in the tree line hidden.

The Knife sees the the wasps are likely to fly straight over head. He decides to relocate to a clump of tall grass at the edge of the marsh.

Makes room for the others on the carpet, and watches the approaching wasps anxiously.

Keyon picks up the 2 stragglers and flies the rug back towards the others at top speed. All they can do is watch while the wasps track down their 2 friends near the marsh.

TK rushes from behind his tree to a patch of tall grass in the distance. Darklin has convinced himself that hiding behind his tree will keep him safe from the oncoming threat. The wasp riders head straight for them, and have the advantage of height on their side, so the hiding duo is discovered almost immediately. The riders take one wide lap around their victims, screeching back and forth as they pass overhead. They appear about to make another turn, spreading out on their approach, coming back around on a return pass.

What is even worse, the two hiders can hear something else closing in on their location from the ground, but neither of them can see what is making the approach from their hiding spots.

Decides they have been seen by the Wasp Riders and fires his bow at the wasps. Keeping partially behind the tree to keep the nets from getting to him.

The Knife burrows into the tall grass to try and avoid the nets that are sure to drop. He groans loudly when he realizes that his darts are unlikely to reach their aerial opponents.

As Keyon, Elnaerel, Feanol, and Keg make their return trip, they see the wasps heading straight for their companions, but can do literally nothing to help them from this distance.

Darklin starts firing arrows at the closest creature, missing with the first shot and slicing his own hand open when the second arrow shatters from the torque. 2 dam One net is tossed at the elf but the tree he is under prevents it from covering him. A pair of pointy javelins also fly in the elfs direction, but both of them miss their target. With TK nowhere to be seen, still hiding in the tall grasses, all of the aerial attacks seem to be concentrated on Darklin.

Then something strange happens. A small 2 foot tall jungle pixie emerges from the grassy area near to where TK is hiding. The winged fey creature looks around and sees the wasps and their riders, a mischievous grin crossing its tiny face.

The noise of something approaching from the swampgrass continues, as if another monster is prowling towards them as well.
