Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day

The ship judders slightly as another vessel docks - This is followed by sounds of (muffled) shouting from the crew airlock.

"Frack, everyone put your weapons down, I will go meet them, Captain, shall we?"

Pranit dorops hw vacc suit parts and heads to the docking bay, which he hopes has pressure.

"Hey Nālani. Nice work. Keep it up while I get started."

She has a medkit with her, hopefully, she can stabilize him enough to move him.

Nālani smiles at Noor as she puts down her machine-pistol: Sam! I am so pleased to see you.How are the others?

On being instructed to resume artificial respiration on Arnwolf she groans Ugh. Be quick, I am not a nurse. and goes back to blowing air into his lungs.

When Noor is satisfied that Arnwolf is stabilised Nālani asks her, anxiously: May I leave? Hoshiko was in the hold when the ship span, I must go to her, she will be so scared.

"I'm on my way Nālani. I just need to get things equilibrated." As she passes the Captain she nods and asks. "How do I get things equilibrated to get to the hanger?"

She closes any hatches that she needs to and gets ready to try to depressurize things.

Noor starts listing things she needs to do. "Close and seal. Depressurize. Get in the hanger. Close door. Repressurize. Don't Die."

Shifting the prop that was jamming the mid-lift hatch open and allowing it to close, Noor manipulates the controls and gets that section to depressurise. Getting into the Vehicle bay and the place looks neat and tidy. One light shows that the ventral pod bay is occupied (or at least pressurised) and, after closing the main hanger door, she re-pressurises the bay - and the main lift shaft. Finally - after what Nālani feels is an absolute age, she finally gets the pod door open.

Here Noor finds Nalani blowing air into Arnwulfs lungs (again) and can see the bubbles of blood coming out of his side as she does so. Medic roll please. Do you have a medkit on you?

Indrani goes with Noor to help repressurize the ship. She's not in a vacc suit, so she's careful to not enter any unpressurized areas.

Pranit is greeted by two no-nonsense borders who order him against the wall - hands showing - while another two cover the crew-room from the airlock. Miya seems to have moved out of sight. A third pair move in checking out the side cabins by the airlock door and find Maggie. They then call out reporting Entry complete, two more secured. Standing by..

A second group of six then start to board. These appear to have an Officer behind them. EDU roll from Pranit and Maggie for recognition thereof.

Nālani and Noor are occupied with Arnwulf when Indrani appears. The engine-room door is welded shut, and the cargo deck is re-pressurising (someone is in there, hopefully the navy's boarding team) but not yet stable. The Freezer deck was empty of people, but some kit has been left behind.

There is a muffled cry of pain from the Passenger deck where Tiberius and the prisoner were left.

"Oh hello (Sir.Ma'am)." Pranit stifles the lizards brains attempt to go to attention.

She sees the armed team come in the room. Just in case, she sets down her weapons; she is not sure what side they are on. Holding out her empty hands, she waits.

"You're perfectly fine just where you are," Indrani answers calmly. "I think the authorities are boarding us, so sit tight."

The two groups move efficiently around the Crew-Deck, gathering the survivors by the crew airlock, and covering the lift shaft. Here, the officer and a medic start to treat the Driver with the broken finger and look at anyone else's injuries. Zid is insistent that the ship is a crime-scene and should be treated as such once the place has been secured. The Officer reminds her that the vessel is now under-way and, as such, falls under Space their jurisdiction. Ulrika is outraged that the troopers have interrupted her recording the incident for posterity. They seem to be forming up for clearing the other decks.

The medic also has some pills for shock and post-combat stress. Any takers?

From the area by the crew-lock, the crew-deck looks (literally) like a bomb has gone off. And the Coffee Pot looks like the fatal casualty.

Addressing the two ex-navy types, the Officer asks...Anything we should know about the other decks?

Now the immediate threat to Arnwolf's survival is less urgent Nālani has time to consider her own injury.

When the Navy medic arrives, she presents her arm: A pirate with an elephant -gun shot me. I am lucky their aim was off.

She won't ask for meds, but neither will she refuse them (unless they are like Valium and significantly effect cognition for a period that promises that to be busy).

"We should have 15 souls, which includes one prisoner. Last I heard, we have one in Engineering, 2 on the vechicle deck, 2 on the passenger deck, one in the ladder between floor and the remainder on the crew deck, civilian has a broken finger."

"Of course, Nālani. Nice work." Noor continues to work on Arnwulf. "Captain. Things are looking up." When she hears the cry from nearby she expresses concern. "Be careful, that may have been Tibbs calling out, not the prisoner."

She contacts the crew. "I need to get Arnwulf to a proper medical facility. Tell them it's urgent."

"We have one gravely injured crewmember on the cargo deck," Indrani replies. "I'm in the lift shaft, and there is another crew member and a prisoner on the passenger deck. My chief engineer is in Engineering with the door welded shut." She continues toward the passenger deck.

Indrani see the head of one of the boarders look down the shaft. I'm sending a team down the shaft, one deck at a time and a team up the shaft. To check out the bridge. If you don't mind, captain, please keep out of the way while we check all's clear. And with that, two soldiers enter the shaft from the Crew deck and start heading up. Behind them are others ready to come down.

And it all gets a bit tense as Nalani enters the shaft from the hanger deck in full vacc-suit and with a weapon! Hold it right there!
