Chapter Nine: Year 300, 6th Day

"Emergency Services is inbound, and they reported seeing an air raft leave us," Indrani replies. "I need a weapon, and I'll go check the bridge."

"Frack, that might be mine, if its Green it is, tell the inbound it is stolen property."

Indrani switches to the emergency services channel. "If the air raft is green, it's ours and it's been stolen," she reports.

Reven Stiilpahth quickly works to comply with orders. "Aye Captain. What's happening up there?"

"I don't know yet," Indrani replies. "I need you to stay where you are until I find out. There's probably a mine outside your door, anyway."

Reven Stiilpahth "I'm not going anywhere, Captain. All i have is a laser tool. I welded the door shut, well, sort of. I hear something out there, some kind of shuffling."

Climbing back up the ladder in the lift shaft, Pranit comes to the bridge. He can immediately see why the computer network is down - the power supplies have both been shot and the main network patch panel has been opened and the cards ripped out. He carefully manoeuvres around the main deck, checking the corners - but can't enter the fresher as the door is sealed and showing vacuum on the other side. Worse, it's hissing slightly!

Noor has a problem - Arnwulf sounds like he needs proper attention - but with the hanger evacuated to space, access is impossible until someone re-pressurises it. The only people with a full Vacc Suit are Pranit and Zid - And Zid's isn't really meant for anything but emergencies.

Maggie can no longer hear movement in the air-lock. Whatever the occupants were up to has stopped. Miya has made her way down to Assana and the two are discussing keeping Assana out of the line of fire from the air-lock door. The air-lock does seem to be re-pressurising.

Is Chief Investigator Zid Umale aboard? asks the controller of Indrani

And then, from the lift shaft, you hear someone shout Where the F*** are you? What's going on?

"Yes, he is aboard," Indrani replies. "I don't know his status, though."

Nālani, continuing to work on keeping Arnwolf breathing, calls Noor: I don't hear gunfire. Can you move? Arnwolf's suit is useless, so we are trapped, and he is more badly hurt than I know what to with. We are in the hangar pod-bay, and the hangar is open. Someone must close the doors and repressurise.

"Hey, Maggie. Are you hurt?" She points to the shotgun on the floor. "Can you handle the shotgun? We need to keep an eye on the lift and the airlock."

I'm fine. She grabs the shotgun. I will manage. These are point-and-shoot.

Pranit shoulders his shotgun and opens the emergency cabinet and grabs the emergency spray foam and sprays all along the seams until there is no hissing.
Barring that Duct tape or lays a deflated survival bubble against the worst hissing area.

Noor broadcasts to all crew: "From what I've heard, everyone except Arnwulf is ok. If the intruders are on the run, we need to shift priority to the medical emergency in the hangar. I need to get down there. Ideas? Pranit? You're still in the vacc-suit. Can you get down there, clear the hangar, and shut the door? I'm going to borrow the suit from Zid and go down the lift. Nālani. Keep it up, he owes you his life."

Noor turns to Miya and Maggie. "I need to get down to the hangar. Listen to Maggie, keep everyone safe here. Thanks for everything."

As the voice calls from the lift, she moves near out of the gas and calls back. "Identify yourself! If you aren't crew, then your buddies have left you. It's over."

"Roger, I'm clearing a leak on the bridge, once I get that done, I will head down there immediately. Watch for explosives.

A young lad can be seen hanging off the ladder - one arm hanging onto the rungs, the other dangling at his side...he was trying to climb one-handed.

I hope you have good painkillers - me arm's f***ed

She calls Pranit on comms again. "Pranit. We've got one in the lift with a busted arm. I'm pretty sure he's surrendering."

"Cover me please, Maggie."

She calls to the lad. "I'm the Medic and I can help you, but you need to put the weapons down and surrender. But before even that, you need to tell me where any mines are placed. I can't move around to help if I'm going to get blown up."

Reven Stiilpahth, upon hearing the dire situation, tries to close the cargo bay and repressurize it from his station.

"Cover me please, Maggie."

She calls to the lad. "I'm the Medic and I can help you, but you need to put the weapons down and surrender. But before even that, you need to tell me where any mines are placed. I can't move around to help if I'm going to get blown up."

Mines? What mines? He sounds genuinely shocked. He then starts trying to remove a pistol from it's holster with his broken arm...wonders what to do with it and just drops it down the shaft. Naturally, the guy has left the safety off and it discharges as it hits the floor! This nearly causes him to fall off the ladder. Given the terribly pale look you'd say he's frightened (clinging to the ladder like he might fall off), possibly medically shocked and possibly now in need of clean trousers.

Reven Stiilpahth, upon hearing the dire situation, tries to close the cargo bay and repressurize it from his station.

Reven's frustation is aroused. The lack of network is a big issue...Someone needs to get to work on the damaged panels and get the basics back again. In the mean time there's not a lot he can do from the workshop desk. Trying to keep the ship going "Up" is now less of a full-time job though.

And then there is a clattering from the lift-shaft and a gunshot.

She ducks down when she hears the gunshot. "Whoa! Whoa. Don't do that." She realizes that the clattering she heard was him dropping it down the shaft. "Ok. Not entirely what I wanted, but ok."

Noor cautiously looks in the lift if the gas is clear enough. "We're going to get you out of there. Hold on." She tries to keep a straight face as she assesses the situation visually. Which floor is he on/near?

"Miya! Can you help me with this guy? He looks unarmed, but has a broken arm and needs to be helped out of the lift."

She turns to Assana. "Hey. I need your help. I need to go to the hangar to rescue Anwulf and I need a Vacc-suit. Yours. I'm sorry, but the fighting looks to be over and Maggie, Miya, and Zid will watch out for things. Would you please let me borrow it?"

Unless the bubble Zid is wearing is faster to trade.

Your prisoner is half-way between the hanger deck and the passenger deck
Assana's Vacc Suit is a "Small" (fits a 16 year old) - Zid's is much easier to borrow. Or you could wait for the prisoner to get to your level and use theirs!
