Elnaerel

"Keg is right. We should leave this place. Keyon and someone who can attack from a distance should use the flying carpet and take a look from the heights. But not too far from us, so that we can help them if the wasps come back."

The Knife

"We need to go. And we need to take that gem with us. It's the only thing that can protect us from the thing in the tower and the wasp riders."

"We have to leave here at some point. As soon as we do, one of those wasp riders will fly back to wherever they come from to get reinforcements. The other two will just shadow us until they arrive. With the light gem we can blind them and hold them off."

"If that thing come out and follows us after dark, we can ward him off with the light gem."

"But if you go in there Darklin, and it kills you and takes the gem, we have no way to stop it from attacking us after dark. And we lose a powerful weapon against the wasp riders."

Third Chances?
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Breezy

Keeping one eye on the wasp riders above, and the other on the closed door of the tower, the group debates their next move.

Darklin asks for Kegs magic weapon and the light gem, willing to go back inside the tower to face Assamuk, hoping they can force him back into the hole below with the magic gem. Though the others dont seem to want to deal with the monster, it becomes painfully obvious that once it gets dark outside, this creature will be able to roam freely again.

The most fragile member of the group finally speaks out. Feanol decides she will help Darklin by holding the gem out for him while he attacks. Anyone involved with freeing the monster in the first place will remember that the hatch in the floor is still closed, and will need to be opened again before the monster can be chased below.

The item that Darklin cant get out of his mind is the box of magical cards still secured below, the power of the ivory plaques almost calling to the elf to be freed. He pushes the battered door open to find the spectre still inside, shading his eyes from the sunlight and keeping his distance against the far wall of the towers interior. It hisses at the group but says nothing this time, wishing they would simply leave it be.

Keyon

"He would risk much to turn you," Keyon remarks to Feanol. "Let me take it. I need someone to ensure the carpet is protected, anyway."

"If Darklin fails, we will need muscle to open the door," he reminds the others. "Else we're just chasing him around the room to no avail." He sends Darklin a glance. "And it's going to be difficult to ward him off with the gem without compromising your vision. Consider that. To get close enough to hit him, you'll have to move close enough to be touched. He will flee the gem's light wherever we take it."

If Feanol and Elnaerel are willing, Keyon will take the gem again and venture to the door with Darklin, eyes sweeping up and down, left and right, then focusing on Assamuk. He will secure the gem in a firm grip and remain near his comrade to ensure Assamuk cannot reach Darklin without the gem's light to protect him.

And if either or both of the ladies disagree, scratch all that. He'll remain outside with his new toy and watch the flying enemies.

The Knife

The Knife stays clear of the tower door and tries to keep his eye on the wasp riders in the distance."If the rest of you want to go in there and chase that thing away again, go ahead!" he calls out. "We'll stay out here and watch those bug-riders. Make sure they don't sneak up on us again."

Elnaerel

"If you want to send back the spectre to the tower cellar, I'll help you. Keg, I need you to help me open the hatch, rather than Feanol." She looks at the mage with an "I'm sorry" expression. "We'll have to be careful not to look in the direction of the gem or we'll be blinded and killed by the evil thing.

Also, we must move together at the same pace, careful not to step on anything that will transport any of us away, or that someone gets closer to Assamuk.

That said, I'm not going down there in search of treasure. I'm curious, but it's too risky and I'm not one looking for riches."

Keg takes out his axe and gives it a good look over. Magic? he says almost in disbelief...

He looked at them and the tower and considers things. Dammit your right... we barely got that hatch open before... he reluctantly hands over the axe and gets ready to follow them in to get the hatch.

This is a big risk, but i don't think we have a choice...

Darklin

Listens to everyone's comments and hands the Gem to Keyon and takes the Magic Ax from Keg.

Let's get this thing dead. He could reek havic on this island and Beachtown. I will go first. Keep the gems light on him and try to keep him in the corner. I'll fire off a Magic Missile spell from the top of the stairs to start it off and then get in there with the axe. Give me any back up you can.

Elnaerel

To Darklin"Killing it? Have you even been paying attention to what we're saying? We said we're gonna push it back down the hatch, not kill it. Killing it is no easy task. Even with the gem. What if it defends itself even when blinded and kills you in one blow? Don't get close to it, just keep it against a wall and then lead it towards the hatch once Keg and I have opened it.

And be careful not to step on any carving."
She earnestly looks to each companion in turn.

Alright. Someone stay here and keep that thing pushed against the far wall with the Gem. I am going to at least finish the mission we came here for. Keyon keep that gem on him and maybe he won't see me. That said he runs to the Chariot tarot on the floor. Magic hand axe held ready. And jumps onto the symbol.

Once below he runs to the box lifting it up in his free arm. After snatching it up he quickly moves across the room to the other teleporter and hops on to it....

Spinning In Circles
Starday, 27th of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Sunny, Hot, Breezy

It is finally agreed upon that the party better at least try to secure the dangerous Assakuk back into his prison below the ground, since the door to this tower has been damaged beyond repair. Darklin takes the ax from Keg, ready to attack the monster once the light from the gem keeps him prone.

Elnaerel has seen enough death in this place, so she pleads with the half crazed Darklin, reiterating that fighting the monster might be pressing his luck, and that they should simply attempt to chase him below instead.

As they move in to accomplish this task, Keg and Elnaerel struggle to get the access hatch open again, using the rope as they did before. Keyon keeps the monster away from them with the powerful light from the bright gem. Assamuk cowers near the stairway up, shading his face from the light and hissing up a storm. Feanol and TK keep guard near the outside doorway, watching that the flying wasps don't get any closer while their friends are engaged.

Darklin doesn't help lift the hatch, hopping onto the Chariot symbol carving instead, with the box of magical plaques on his mind the entire time. He teleports into the lower level again, just as he did before. He rushes over to the box, picking it up and moving to the symbol on the basement floor next, just as he did before. When he reappears on the ground floor of the tower again, the box is no longer in his hands, which is the exact same thing that happened before. Apparently, the box will have to be removed by another means other than the floor teleporters. The group cant be sure, but the hissing noises from Assamuk start to sound a little more like laughter again.

Elnaerel

The elven cleric tries to keep the hatch open. "Come on! It's open!" She grits her teeth with the effort. If anything doesn't go as planned, she will drop the rope and start running for her live.

Keyon

When Darklin streaks toward the teleporter, Keyon sighs audibly. "Mate, we're--damn it all, man!" He shakes his head and attempts to approach Assamuk in such a way that the creature will be ushered back into his prison cell, careful to avoid moving within range of physical touch--and always maintaining a clear escape route if he should be forced into an ignominious retreat.

Darklin

Darklin let's out another explicit remark before realizing that the box must come out the trap door. He jumps over behind Keg and starts pulling on the rope to help free the trap door. Once it is open he yells hold it a moment , I'll hand the box up through the hole.

He then hops on the Chariot again and once below he grabs the Box of Plaques in one arm again and this time draws one out before moving to the trap door and holds the box up to who ever is at the hole.

Watching her friends struggle with the attempt to recage the monster, watching it and ready to yell warning to anyone it threatens. She is amazed and disappointed at Darklin's action.

The Knife

The Knife continues to watch the wasp riders. He draws the The Knife from it's scabbard and gives it a few nonchalant swings, letting them see exactly what will be waiting if they come any closer.

"Stop? Why?" The Knife looks at the blade. "It's making you dizzy?" He shakes his head and lets out an exasperated sigh.

With a flourish of activity, the next few seconds inside the tower are extremely chaotic. Outside, things remain pretty much the same.

Darklin helps get the hatch open completely before leaping onto the Chariot carving, disappearing below. He grabs the box again, but instead of immediately handing it up to Keg at the top of the hole, he opens the lid all alone to attempt another pick.

Keyon is already in the process of ushering Assamuk around the inside of the tower towards the hatch, keeping a safe distance while he prods at the helpless undead monster with his intense rays of light. The process is a slow one, but the beast does eventually retreat from the light once it gets close enough to him.

Keg and Elnaerel are about to flee the area when Darklin hands the long ornate box up to them through the open hatch. The same hatch that Keyon is ushering the monster towards.

Darklin

Will jump and push the box onto the next floor, Half tossing the box towards Keg. Trying to keep the toss level so the box doesn't spill. Then moving towards the teleporter down below, turns before he steps on it and yells:

Hey, Assusmack come and get me. Waits for the spirit to start down the stairs and jumps onto the teleporter, back to the next floor.

Keyon

The rogue forges ahead with his mission, heedless of flying boxes or elves leaping about. His one objective is to imprison the spectre, and he stops for nothing.
